I weigh everything on a scale too for the most part....it's good portion control which in turn will help you lose because you're not eating a lot of "excess" calories.

Drink lots and lots of water during your period....lay off the caffeine and eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies. This has helped me to not gain during that time. Water is the main key though.

I take leftovers for lunch because like you, I don't care for lunchmeat. Sometimes I take a salad, but most of the time, I like to take chicken or fish with lots of fresh veggies that I microwave.

I teach in an alternative high school. We don't have a cafeteria, so everyone has to bring their lunch. That's a great advantage to me....I'm not tempted to eat junk unless I can get a student to swap :P

If MFP set you at 1350 calories, I would stick to that. If you're eating 1600 calories PLUS exercise calories, then I would say, yes you're eating too many. Drop to 1350 and eat your exercise calories....let MFP do the work for you.

I'm not a big breakfast eater, so I eat Chobani yogurt. It has a lot of protein and no refined sugar. It's sweetened with cane juice....140 calories, 0 fat. Lots of flavor, curbs appetite.
