I have never liked pork, but have had to eat it when my family prepared it. As an adult I have cut it out entirely and have really limited my red meats because it just isn't that satisfying to me for some reason. I like lean cut red meats when I do eat them. I don't eat much seafood though, so that really limits me to…

It could be water weight or sodium. There are a lot of factors. You could be at a plateau. There's a good chance you ate perfectly fine and you'll lose tomorrow or maybe your body just needs to adjust to your current weight to lose more. Your body needs a chance to adjust to it's new weight sometimes to accept it as it's…

Days like that have happened to me. Turn that rainy day into motivation!! Look at your body in the mirror and just be proud! It's not always about the numbers on the scale but about how you feel in your skin or how your clothes are fitting! Using the scale it's definitely a mental exercise as well.

I just have to say, for all those who have answered with tickers.... AWESOME PROGRESS!!! Great job!! Keep it up!!!

I totally agree!! I think you have to mentally accept the reality of weight fluctuations to maintain your sanity. It takes a little practice, but once you get over that initial hurdle, it really does help some people (like me) stay on track and keeps me accountable.

Water weight is definitely a factor. But weighing yourself at the same time of day is as well. And giving yourself at least 15-20 minutes after you wake up is the best. And I always lightly stretch to relieve acid and wait a few minutes after that to let my body normalize. Obviously not eating or drinking or showering…

I know that when I weigh myself that there WILL be days that I will weigh more than the day before. But as long as I accept that I guess I will be able to keep my sanity under control (for the most part lol). I have been weighing myself every day for over a year now (obviously there are days when I can't or that I forget…

ATTA GIRL!!! Great job!!!

What time are you working out at? If you're working out a few hours before bed then that's probably causing your insomnia. I have had that before. It's really common to not be able to fall asleep after working out a few hours before bed if your body isn't used to it.

This may sound odd, but eat a lot of apples in one day along with your other foods to help with a plateau.

YESSS! And as someone else mentioned earlier on the thread--- a food scale will save your life! It's a huge step in understanding portion control, too!

I'm right there with ya! I'm super supportive and positive! I'm a pretty happy go lucky person, too!

Hi, Debbie! I'm about your height (about an inch shorter actually) and I was heavier than you. Now I'm between 120-123. It's a battle but YOU CAN DO IT!!! I was never active as a kid or an overly active young adult. I promise you that if you keep to it, and you believe in yourself, you will succeed!!

This goes for me too! :)

I'm 23. I'm just now starting to use MFP on my computer. It's amazing to use on my phone! It's helped me lose part of my 60 pounds that I took off! Feel free to add me!
