I only work out at home. I started with Hip Hop Abs. Have an old strictly cardio aerobics video. Now alternating between Pilates and Shred It with weights. I also walk/jog or hike 2 or 3 times a week. I have very little trouble staying motivated. It's a lot easier for me to work up the energy to turn on the dvd player than…

Totally trying that tonight...I was wondering what I was going to do with that one just too ripe for my taste banana. Thanks for sharing!:flowerforyou:

My new fixation is Swiss Miss Sensible Sweets no sugar added hot chocolate. It's so yummy and doesn't taste diet at all. It's only 60 calories but makes me feel like I'm being naughty. It helps when I'm craving all of the things I don't have calories for any more.

Pizza. I can tell myself what my limit is, but I almost always go over. Not gonna cut it out, though. Love it, too much.

Gastric bypass in 2002. Such a long time ago! But you see how were are all still struggling, so, as the doctor said, not a magic bullet.

I just got a sigma sport onyx balance for Christmas. I had to return the first one due to a syncing problem, but I used it today and am happy with it. I saw it for about $44 on amazon, but I don't know if it's still that price. I looked around some and that's about the cheapest that I found. I chose to go with one of the…

I just got her shred it with weights. I did it once and was ridiculously, ridiculously sore. I spent a couple weeks doing pilates to build up my legs. Going to try it again soon. I'll probably cry.

Have you been taking pictures? I don't see my measurement numbers changing much, but my pants are definitely looser. I think my stomach is just hanging lower...gross. I'm sure there is change there, it's just hard for you to see when you're looking every day.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Not technically a veggie, but one of my current favorite snacks is cottage cheese with grape tomatoes. I had forgotten how good real food tasted while I was numbing my sensibilities with garbage. :)

My mom bought me the HRM/calorie monitor I wanted. My wife bought me a yoga mat. (Saw that one accidentally. I haven't received it yet.) And I'm still hoping for that shake weight!

1. Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas 2. Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer (the 2970's claymation one) 3. Santa Claus is Coming to Town 4. Olive, the Other Reindeer 5. Miracle on 34th Street (black and white version)

Mine are the same size they were when I was 75 pounds heavier...but I never had anything to start with.

I try to get all my water in first. Then I allow myself soda or coffee or whatever if there's still time in the day. I was off soda once for about 6 months. When I started back the carbonation gave me heart burn so awfully that I didn't enjoy it. I can't tell you why I pushed through that particular barrier... but…

That is so sad. But if we had no setbacks, we would not appreciate reaching our goals as much. You are still here; you still have your daughter. I'll have you in my prayers. This too shall pass. Although it may look bleak at the moment. I empathize with your pain now.

You know that as long as you're trying to maintain healthy weight goals, you'll always have support here. Way to go on your weight loss so far!

I have all our cookies boxed up for my family. If I ate any of them, I would leave empty spaces in the boxes. :) I wish you'd mail me some of those peanutbutter balls, though.

I always weigh 3-4 pounds heavier when I go to the doctor, too. It's depressing. I weighed myself on my scale, clothed, before I went the other day so I wasn't sad when I got there, and still was 4 pounds heavier according to the doctor's scale. I'm keeping mine. It likes me better.

You look awesome, and looking at your after pictures, I have hope that that weird hanging pooch will eventually look normal in my jeans as I lose more weight. Thanks for sharing, and welcome to mfp!

Salad is my big lifesaver, too. If I've had a day where I'm used nearly all of my calories, or I'm planning on using all my calories, I make myself a big salad with careful attention to my salad dressing. There are some with only 15 or 30 calories per serving. I can eat a HUGE awesome salad for almost no calories and feel…

I just started the site because I'm too cheap to buy new pants. That said, my wife had been on for a few months and had been nagging me to try it. It's been awesome to get that extra time together while we're working out, and I've gotten much more serious than I anticipated about my health and my weight loss.…

If I KNOW I'm going to be splurging, I'll make sure I get in a good workout, and be diligent about my calories for the rest of the day. Salad, fresh fruit, fat free yogurt, so I have some leeway in my calories for the day. And I try really hard to approximate what I ate in my food diary. It's difficult, but I feel better…

I had Imo's the other night. I enjoyed that little splurge, but I'd rather have been eating Papa John's.

Boca makes a totally yummy vegetarian cheeseburger. When I'm making myself a burger, and my wife is making steak for herself and her friends, her friends are always jealous about the way my burger looks when I get it put together.

I'm already planning on eating crazy things for my birthday. I'm a vegetarian, so there's not going to be any huge greasy burger in my future, but I want to go out for Spanish food and eat olives and cheese and not think about my calories. If I'm good the rest of the week and give myself a good workout that day, I'm going…

If I'm just too starved to go to bed without eating, I do well with a fat free yogurt and a piece of toast or an english muffin with applebutter.

Asking a doctor and consulting a personal trainer are both probably adviseable. You might also consider weight training with your upper body to combat that "little upper half" thing. I've watched a lot of people lose weight with weight loss surgery fairly rapidly and they tend to look ill for a while. It will take time for…

I'm sure she'll be pleased, but it's so much more important that you are. Congratulations!

I'm so confused about my jeans as well. So most days I'm in scrub pants because that's what I work in. I DO recognize that they had become very tight. Now they're all comfortable. But the jeans I bought in August because last year's jeans didn't fit are still as tight as ever. And I haven't weighed this much for years, but…

Because nothing worth having is easy, right? If it weren't work, we wouldn't appreciate it so much. Then we wouldn't feel so good about ourselves on the day we do awesomely. :D
