Interval training works great for me. I do my intervals on the elliptical. I do it for 10 minutes alternating between as fast as I can for 1 minute and then a slow speed for one minute. You have the same exact goal as me! I'm 5'7 and I weigh 182. I want to get down to 165 and wear a size 8 in jeans. I am an extreme pear though.
