  • So jealous of your menu! Yum yum yum! Beef Carpaccio/Salmon/Cheesecake ... I'm paleo, but I'm pro dairy, so those would keep you closer ... well not the cheesecake, obviously, but YOLO!
  • Tried to do yoga today ... so not a good day for yoga. I hate it so much. How do I stay motivated to do something I abhor. I see my strength and flexibility improving, but I can't get past how much I hate it. I quit in the middle today. I have to make it up some way. I might switch to core instead, but then I feel like I'd…
  • I've never had ambrosia, but if you make your own marshmallows, you can substitute the sugar with stevia (which has a light vanilla flavor to it), so you would cut out most of the calories. Marshmallows are just gelatin, sugar, and vanilla.
  • Don't feel like I gave it my all this morning, but I did it. Yoga is going to be the "BEST" tomorrow! *sigh*
  • I'm totally a fly by the seat of your pants cook. Even if I'm following a recipe, I think I know better (unless it's something I tasted before trying to make it). I'm a lazy cleaner, so I try to limit the number of dishes I use. I think it comes from not having a dishwasher for 8 years. I'm not very good at measuring…
  • bump!
  • Has fun taken on some new meaning I'm not aware of? It's nice to check it off before I do anything else. Pam the blam is what I hope to look like when all is said and done!
  • lettuce/cabbage wraps with turkey and a slice of cheese. yum! You'll feel full longer because of the protein.
  • started the day with plyo ... best idea ever! Now I don't have to think about it for the rest of the day.
  • I suffered. I don't know exactly when I started snacking in the middle of the night -- my schedule has never been too structured, and I suffer from insomnia off and on. Any who, late night snacking was a huge problem for me, and when I decided to stay away from late night eating, I had a rather difficult time, but allowed…
  • I have to be honest ... I missed two days last week (days 5 & 6). Unexpected guests at the home, not getting up early, making excuses. All my fault, really. But I was back today with a vengeance, and felt all the better for doing it (even when my roommate tried to convince me that I shouldn't work out so close to…
  • 40 lbs is a HUGE accomplishment!!! You should totally be over the moon about what you've achieved. You're totally :smokin: ! It can be very difficult for us to congratulate ourselves, especially when the accomplishment is based in comparison of ourselves to others. You have to remember that you are successful for getting…
  • Ha! On topic: Bread is not bad, bread is not good. Carbs are in damn near everything we consume, so to say carbs are bad is silly. I'm low carb because if I eat bread/potatoes/pasta/rice, my body turns it into fat. Before anyone gets all snarky, let me explain to you that I did portion control, ate whole wheat bread /brown…
  • I'm a low-carb girl, and the first couple of weeks were the toughest because I thought I was going to get bored with every side being lettuce or broccoli, (other sad vegetable) BUT no more! Here are a few things that can help you feel like your meal is more meal-like and that you don't feel like you're missing something.…
  • My eating schedule varies quite often, depending on what I'm doing, and readily available food. I've noticed over the last month, though, that since I made the conscious decision to stop eating in the middle of the night, I no longer feel hungry late in the night. The first week or so was tough, including some very vivid…
  • Yes! Let's keep it going! Is it just me, or did we lose a few this week?
  • *** I meant "weight" not "wait" -- that's what lack of sleep does to me. :embarassed:
  • *sigh* up the 2lbs I lost since I joined, but I don't know if I've gained muscle, I'm retaining water, or what ... Also, I haven't slept today (and I hear that's when your body sheds it's wait -- no clue if it's true). But, clothes still fit better. Another week offers another opportunity to put in work. I am not a slave…

  • Three words: flavored carbonated water -- (not soda). Crystal Geyser has some in berry, lemon, lime & orange. Case of 24 runs for about $7 at Costco. It's mineral water with natural fruit flavor, and it's fizzy! Once I discovered these bad boys, I rarely have soda. Good luck!
  • I'm glad to see you're taking the steps to lose weight, and I am excited for your success. With that said, I would HIGHLY (cannot stress enough) recommend consulting a physician on your endeavor. Rapid weight loss may be a symptom of something else, and s/he can monitor all of the things that this site cannot. S/he can…
  • I LOVE to cook, and am always open to making new friends. I'm mostly paleo right now (breads, pastas & potatoes are not my friends :brokenheart: ) but I'm dairy friendly. Anywho, I'm willing to share recipes, and cooking techniques.

  • I let my roommates know that I feel uncomfortable when I'm working out and they watch. I tell them to get out, and we live together. You, madam, are a saint for letting her stay.
  • I make garlic-ginger paste, and pesto in mine. Home-made pesto is the best! Also: http://www.foodnetwork.com/topics/food-processor/index.html
  • Was really not motivated today, but I made it through. Still have to do ARX when I get home from work.
  • coconut milk is great for a lot of things. I soak lean meats in it before I cook them up. If you wanna make curry, coconut milk is a necessity. it's also great in smoothies.
  • P90x has a nutrition guide, and recipe book. Have you looked at their recommendations?
  • Cauliflower "rice" seems to be all the rage. It's super simple to prepare. All you need is a food processor and pulse cauliflower until it is the size of grains of rice. I usually throw mine in the microwave for a minute or two to get it to a similar consistency of rice, and not as crunchy. It's been great to pour curry…
