Would love to read another 7 day detailed chronicling of reincorporating food, and the "weight" gained back. Basically, complete the experiment to see the real impact on your body. Kudos on that willpower, though. Wow.

My father just started this and is happy with his 6lb loss in the first week. He's done "diets" before and has been happy with his initial losses. Then he gains it back when he eats "for real" again. Then he starts a new diet and is happy with his initial loss. Whatever works and makes you happy. Do it. But, just consider…

Lighter side options are good. They will also not add butter or extra salt if requested. Fajitas sans tortilla are a good option too (But high in sodium). Salad, no croutons and just vinegar work too. Chili's leaves me retaining water for days. But, sometimes its worth it!

Maybe you are eating too little? Or, Maybe you need to restart your metabolism by overeating a bit. There are lots of threads on things like that here --- plateau etc. Good luck!

OIL PULLING - - great antiseptic for the mouth, strengthens teeth, heals gums, acts as floss and whitener. Swish 20 minutes before brushing, spit in track. Ancient medicine. Or pulling other things, I'm sure.

Interesting - I could have totally written this. I just updated my status with something similar: excuses, heaviest etc. My new goals are very similar to yours. Feel free to add me, or my Food Log is open. I should probably cut out the Fireball, but...... Just need to get off of my ars........... Good luck!

I have the same issue - diagnosed with a sodium sensitivity. However, I just love salt is really the diagnosis. The weekends are the worst. Tracking food is great and shows your sodium but doesn't account for the sodium that you add yourself. So, I drink 100 ounces of water minimum a day. Seems to help but some days are…

I like my Fitbit Flex. Keeps me moving - I didn't realize how immobile I was. But, it's basically a glorified pedometer - and you need to be moving your arms for it to work. So, don't count on it to count calories burned exactly while doing much else than walking or running. My favorite part is the vibrating alarm. I wake…

Your meal plan appears to be high in sodium. While it doesnt seem like it, bread has a lot of sodium in it. Sometimes, we just retain water from one bad meal for days. Sometimes working out will cause an increase in water retention in the muscles too. Hang in there. I too am back at this and water retention is the worst…

I do: canned chicken, egg whites (lots), reduced fat string cheese, iso whey protein (106 cals, 25 protein) Chibani has new snack greek yogurt - about 20 protein i think and 100 cals.

Lose the weight for yourself - to be happy with yourself and to live a healthy life. He isn't interested. The end. It hurts, yes, but someone is out there. I was 22 and 115lbs when I met my partner of 14 years. In those 14 years, we gained weight together (168 now), and now we are losing it together. Your love life will…

Track everything you eat. Consider using Copy Cat recipes to replace your dining out habit. If you begin to cook at home with items or meals you like, you can then tailor them to your diet (baked, not fried etc). Commit to exercising. Recognize why you eat what you eat and when you eat it. Be patient. But never give up. A…

Football filled Saturday hurt my diet but was worth it: Wings, stuffed jalapeno peppers with bacon, sausage balls, chips/queso, pigs in a blanket. This coming weekend I will be forced to eat a salad instead!

You will feel the difference in your body and your health. Ignore the scale. That could be water retention from working out or anything else. The body is fluid - literally i guess! You will go up and down. How do your clothes feel? Can you run after your kids breathing less heavily? A lot of things are the measure of your…

in short, do what works best for you. Hells yeah.

Very interesting. I will check that out! I have heard some about the running posture. Thanks for the advice!

Quitting smoking after nearly 20 years wasn't easy - but honestly, wasnt hard. I tried all methods before. Never worked. I talked to my doc about Zyban (Wellbutrin). After 6 weeks of taking it, picked my quit date and haven't looked back. I stopped the Zyban shortly after that. My only side effect was having 2 Martinis…

Good idea about the weekly intake and reviewing on the weekends. I spend most of sunday mornings planning my week and cooking for a week. That help lots. Just need to avoid the "i had a long day and wont go to the gym" excuses Thanks!!!!!!!!

My first month of not smoking - didnt gain a pound. Three months later I was 10 up. I still struggle with those 10 damn pounds. I eat well, work out (although the last three weeks have been a "vacation"). But, with all that, I can friggin breathe. I can taste my food. I don't stink. And the best part - my blood pressure is…

Hang in there. It takes time to figure out what works best for you. But, the key is to track and get an idea of what you ARE doing to see if that is working. And, if it isn't you tweak until it does.

My partner hid my scale. I refuse to weigh for a while. I kept "gaining" on the scale - but losing on the body. My clothes fit better and I feel better. I work out but I also have a sodium sensitivity so any small stray with the salt adds upwards of 8lbs on me at times (my fault for loving sodium rich foods). Then I get…

Chips and Salsa. I can ration the chips but cant go without.

Always. We are our biggest supporters. Plus, I love the quality time, and I am always so proud of her for her daily accomplishments!

My near-exact excuses have led to my re-gaining the 8lbs i had lost. I'm back on the wagon using my 1 year smoke free anniversary as motivation. Also, I have a busy schedule that is very stressful right now so am using a hard work out as a stress reliever. Hang in there, sometimes you just need to find your mojo again.…

I always keep on hand frozen tilapia, quinoa, eggs, protein powder (I like Dynamite Iso 100), almond milk, apples, and a salad mix of cucumber, tomato, broccoli and red cabbage.

I quit one year ago next week. During that process i worked out very hard. I didnt gain wait until about 3 months later. I've struggled to lose that 10 lbs since then. But, I wouldnt trade that weight gain. I am so happy I quit - I smoked for nearly 20 years. I feel better, have less sinus infections, i dont stink, I get…

Congratulate yourself on your achievements! You have lost 4 lbs. You have watched your diet. You have worked out. How much of that had you done prior to this month? This is a lifestyle change! Change is good. Change takes time. Time takes patience. Patience is within you. Congrats and good luck!

Too many carbs, too much sugar. Replace the "squeeze tubes" of processed yogurts with fresh fruit. Eliminate sugar in the coffee. If you are going to have pasta, lay off the baked potato. Better to lay off the jarred sauce too - more sugar. Add fruit, add greens, add other veggies. Kool Aide is no one's friend.
-
My goal is to NOT shop the inner aisles (except for coffee!) - most all located in the interior of the store is processed.
