I've heard that salads make you retain water in the tummy area - so perhaps have those earlier in the day. Lean meats, light carbs at night. My bigget culprit: sodium. In my opinion, if you can tackle that, with the healthy eating, you are on your way. Be sure to include cardio and weight lifting as well. Sometimes, its…

Greek yogurt, egg whites, legumes..... I'm always way over on protein!

Bump (and thanks, awesome, yahoo, great!)

Funny, I'm stuck at 8 lbs lost but have gone down 2 pant sizes. All just depends on the body i guess. Frustrating either way!

I quit smoking in July. Sjortly after, i started working out at Curves. I began losing inches but gained almost 10 pounds. Those were the hardest to get off....and finally did in Jan/Feb. Since then, I've hit a bit of a plateau. This week, I am playing around with my cals and workouts to see what I can do. Even though I've…

More veggie. What about egg whites instead of whole eggs? Watch the sugar maybe too.

I routinely gain 5# of water weight - esp after a "fun" weekend. Be sure, like everyone is saying, to eat your cals (and log them) and to drink a lot of water. I've been stuck at the same weight for about a month too, but my clothes are feeling better so I know something is working. Sometimes, its not what we see on the…

LMSW here too :) Isn't Social Working stressful! At my job, in the last 12 years here - I've gained 40 lbs! So, topping out at 168, I'm trying to get back to 135-140. I used to be able to eat whatever I wanted. Now, even at 1200- cals and working out 5 days a week, it's so hard to lose even 1 lb.

Sometimes motivation needs its own motivation! Maybe sometimes a nice break is needed to get back to the original goals. Good luck!

Apple a day....???? Apples are one of the best fruits to eat.

I still crave them even 8 months later but as soon as I identify the craving...its already gone. Hang in there.

Leftovers are a great idea! I cook for a week on Sundays. This week's options are lean beef stew meat (crockpot so tender), lean pork (trimmed carnita), grilled chicken thighs (not as lean as breast but tasty); roasted carrots, green beans, broccoli, and asparagus options. This way, I can switch it up all week, and its…

This is so awesome!. As I've said before, very inspiring!

Hi all! CW is 159, GW for challenge is 153 with overall goal of 135. Let's get it done!

From your diary, it looks as though you are not eating enough. If your diary is correct, you are barely eating 900 calories a day, which means you are starving yourself. You need to eat a minimum of 1200 calories. When you set your goals, go by the recommended and eat your cals! Also, coffee isnt breakfast. I always hated…

I think you are making great changes in your life. If you continue on this track, and continue to make adjustments, it is easier over time than at once. Remember, it took years to gain the weight so will take time to come off. I suggest, as someone else did, adding fruits and veggies to all meals. This will allow you to…

Great job! Keep up the good work. Small goals seem to help keep things achievable!

I quit with the aide of Zyban in July. Occasionally, still crave but very short lived. Never had chest pains but would hack all the time. I feel so much better now....and can breathe and smell better. Downside was I gained 10 pounds plus the 8 I had lost before. Its so much harder to lose now.......but I would take the 18…

I never used to eat breakfast, but after much coaxing, I've begun and it has really helped to balance my day. South beach has an egg muffin recipe thats pretty good too!

2 egg whites, 1 Morning Star patty, oatmeal or 100 cal english muffin. Be sure to balance your carbs with more (healthy) protein. Total cals = 200 or so.

I would like to join the challenge! I've not yet been successful in my weight loss but that roadblock happened when I quit smoking after almost 20 years. Now that I am smoke free for six months, its time to lose that extra weight!
