  • I feel the same way! I've been adding weight to my squats weekly which has seemed to help me keep good form and make sure I'm not going to heavy too fast. I've also started doing good mornings (keeping the weight the same as my squat) to work on my hamstrings and glutes because they were significantly weaker than my quads…
  • Damn!! Apparently that's what beastmode looks like!
  • I plan on adding an extra rep before moving up 5 pounds, but my gym only has plates that go down to 2.5 pounds, so I have to make due, if you have fractional plates, then go for it! I've been tweaking the program based on how I feel too. My squats I increase every week cause I want to make sure my form is good, and I…
  • I spent 3 months with a trainer doing isolation type exercises. I got bored. Now, I'm doing SL 5x5 and seeing (and feeling) much better results from it. Before I was spending around 90 minutes at the gym, with SL I'm there for about 30.
  • Love! A friend of mine who is a trainer told me that she likes the Smith Machine better cause she can do more weight and with a squat rack you have to balance the bar. Uh... I'm a dancer. I can always use work on my stabilizing muscles! Good for you! I bet they didn't expect for you to know what you were talking about...
  • I wear gloves to lift. Otherwise it's really painful on my hands and I get horrible callouses. I don't have any experience with chalk though...
  • Thanks for the feedback! I also added good mornings to my routine to strengthen my hamstrings. If you guys think I can add weight, I'll start adding weight!
  • Very impressive!
  • This! Also, people who "disappear" in between sets. This one guy arrived at the gym at the same time as me one day and we both got in the squat racks. He did a set and walked away, came back 5 minutes later, did another set and walked away. Then, I saw him leave the gym and get in his truck to leave. He left all his…
  • Thanks for the feedback peeps! I also posted this in another group and got the comment that I was slow on my way up which hints that my quads are stronger than my glutes and hamstrings... Which is totally true. Maybe that's why I lean forward on the way up?
  • Thanks so much for commenting, you confirmed my suspicions about my front side being stronger than my backside. I will add some accessory work to my routine!
  • Hey! I need some feedback on my squat form. It doesn't feel right when I'm doing it, but I may just be over thinking it... I started Stronglifts about 2 weeks ago and started over with my squats tonight cause I wasn't going down far enough. Thanks in advance! http://youtu.be/7PfeAXMbaj4
  • Great work ladies!! My workout is tonight. I'm starting over on my squats and rows. I really want to nail down my squat form before adding weight to the bar. Kind of makes me sad, but I want to do what's best for my body. I did 80 pounds on my rows the other day, but I noticed that my left elbow would tuck in at the top of…
  • Proud "dirty" eater here! I've eaten pasta, pizza, ice cream almost every night, cookies, donuts, burgers, and fast food on occasion. I love food too much to give up ANY of it! 34 pounds down since July 2012...
  • I spent about a month between 1,800 and 1,900 calories a day and I felt like the more I ate, the more I wanted to eat! I also made poorer choices with more calories to work with. As far as being hungry when you lift, I now eat 1,650 on my non lifting days and 2,000 on my lifting days so I have that extra boost going for…
  • Yeah, I may just have to take a video. How you think you look vs how you actually look can be very different. I feel like I could achieve proper form with just the bar. I would do a warm-up set with the bar and would feel like I had the form down and then once I added weight I couldn't stop my squat at parallel. Maybe I…
  • - Made me a stronger dancer (better balance, higher jumps/leaps). - Made me want to live in sleeveless shirts! - Made me not care about the weight on the scale. - Made me feel good about getting stares as I'm in the squat rack on the "boys side" of the gym. - Made me feel like a BAMF all around!
  • Thanks guys! I'll try not to be so self conscious of how I look when loading/unloading the bar. I'll focus on looking like a BAMF while doing the lifts instead :flowerforyou:
  • My DL last night was 125 and it was hard trying to get those plates off the bar! Our squat racks have pins on the front that you can load your bar on, but they're about 24" off the ground. Looks like it would be awkward. I might try loading the bar there next time just to see how it goes. Guys in the gym see me struggle…
  • I'm a noob. I just started on the 21st of April and will do session 6 tonight. I really need to nail down my form on my squat even though it's tempting to test how heavy I can go! Also, I would love to be able to DL my body-weight (135 pounds). I'm set to DL 125 pounds tonight. I'm a little nervous about it...
  • I dance ballet, modern, zumba and take a spin class here and there. I also like walking and I plan to start running again if it will ever warm up here!
  • Me! My breakfast is the same everyday (cereal), and on days I have to work, I eat the same thing for lunch (Greek yogurt!). Dinner is the only thing that really changes for me. I meal plan all of my dinners too. If I allow myself to get hungry without a plan, that's when my give a damn goes out the window and I pig out on…
  • Love carbs for that reason...
  • I wear my converse all stars. I started with another dance type shoe that I felt so wobbly on. Switching to the the chucks made a lot of difference! Plus, I think they're pretty cheap *and* they come in cool colors.
  • Did OHP today with the bar in the rack. I'm so glad I could just put the bar back on the rack at shoulder level after each set! Holy crap. I'm gonna be feeling those tomorrow!
  • On YouTube there's a series of videos called "So You Think You Can Bench". Totally changed the way I bench. His videos go into a lot of detail too which is nice. Here's part one if anyone is interested... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHx1gYTA-Rw
  • Thanks everyone! You all are so helpful!
  • I miss eating whatever I wanted in the quantities I wanted...
  • My thoughts exactly.
