Could you maybe pick up where you left off at a lighter intensity?
-
Agreed! I also think a calorie is a calorie to an extent. Personally, I lost my first 44 pounds by following "everything in moderation". Now, I'm looking to lose another 10 or so pounds and reduce my body fat percentage and I feel like the only way I will achieve that is by eating healthier.

Thanks for the feedback and advice. I'm glad I'm not alone in this! When I think about it, my entire weight loss I've used food as a reward - even if it was eating junk with exercise calories I burned. Now I'm at the point where I need to stop so I can reach my goals!

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm a little apprehensive to give myself a cheat meal. I'm not sure if it would cause a big slip, but I'll keep it in mind!

My favorite upper body workout is negative pull ups. I'm working up to pull ups, but negative ones make me sore everywhere!

Hi! Welcome! I've been dancing for the past 4 years and was granted my pointe shoes this year!
-
One of my friends "jamesguidera" dances Lindy Hop.
-
Dancer here! Been dancing for about 4 years and I am HOOKED. I've just recently started pointe, but I've taken ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical and I'm also in an aerial hoop class.

Oooh! We can't forget Daniel Craig!! He is also on my sexy Brit list! Like wine, he gets better with age...

This thread is so full of hot-lip-biting win...
-
...I love you too Alexander... *puddle*
-
Ah! How could I forget about these men!? My two favorite Brits...
-
Yes!! Alexander Skarsgard. He's in the show True Blood.
-
x2! More of him please! Freaking sexiest man alive...

I totally wish I could rig my hoop inside! Right now it's in my garage hooked up to an eye bolt that's in a support beam. It's so cold out there in the winter, even with a space heater - I don't use it much cause I'm afraid I'll injure a muscle because I can't get warm!
-
Amazing. I totally teared up reading your story. You're such an inspiration!

If you're thin, I think that's normal. I had a friend in high school who was very thin and her stomach would stick out a bit after eating. Hell, I'm not even thin (10 pounds away from goal) but I'm starting to notice that with myself! Pretty sure it's just a hang up.

Are you sure they're the same length? At my gym, the lighter barbells are shorter than the standard barbells.
-
How you work out depends on your goals. Decide what you want to accomplish and then create your workouts based on that.
-
Whoa... This is a thing?? Pretty cool! I wonder how legit this is though. It's really important in ballet that your body is in proper alignment. I'm not familiar with these classes though, just speaking from a dancer's point of view.

I feel like you should be eating more... I'm a 5'3" female and I eat 1,600 a day to lose. More protein will help keep hunger away. One thing I use instead of pasta is spaghetti squash. Much fewer calories and very filling cause you can eat a lot of it!

I was told by a girl in my ballet class (who is about 13 years old) that my legs almost look gross because of their muscles. Despite the fact that my muscles make me a strong dancer. I feel sorry for her and the ideal body image that's been ingrained in her head.
-
I think maybe he means eat at TDEE...
-
5'3" Here. Started at 169, currently at 130 and aiming for 119. I don't think I could get any lower than that. 119 would be 50 pounds lost, which I would be ecstatic with!

I ate half a funnel cake at a fair once. Didn't care about the calories, I just wanted one. I woke up in the middle of the night sick to my stomach and ended up throwing it up. Horrible waste of 500 calories. I will never eat a funnel cake again. I should have got spiral spuds instead!

Am I the only one that thinks whipped cream is a waste of 120 calories?
-
Lol! That is fantastic!

She's my hero... And she said she's been doing that stuff for 2 1/2 years. I bet she will have an easy labor and will leave the hospital in her pre-pregnancy pants.

I've kept one pair of my largest pair of pants to remind myself how far I've come.

I would maybe try a more body-weight based program. Dancers have awesome legs cause we do lots of plies (think body-weight sumo squats), going up on our toes, jumping, holding awkward positions, etc. The point is, no matter what you do, it's going to take hard work. Ballerinas (and dancers in general) work really hard and…
