This weekend, we're meeting my wife's sisters family for lunch. Originally, we were going to go to a chinese restaurant, which is hard enough (I was going to go with Moo Goo Gai Pan). Now, they decided they want to go to a Thai place, which I know nothing about. Looks like I have some more research to do!

Mine is open. Not exciting, but open.

Thanks guys. I never listened to Ben Greenfield, I'll have to check it out. I've heard Dave Asprey and Tim Ferriss - a little too huckster-ish for me. I'll have to revisit Robb Wolff. I remember hearing him a few years ago, but wasn't as into this as I am, currently.

I almost never read the comments from anything! It really seems like the lowest common denominator are all jacked up to throw in their two cents.

I'd like to try the actual bulletproof coffee once. I don't think my palate is that refined, though, and my wallet is averse to paying that much for coffee.
-
Wow! What kind of time frame is that, just out of curiosity? No matter what, it's an amazing transformation!

Some people do, some people don't. I use a sugar-free vanilla or hazelnut syrup I found at TJ Maxx

I'm eating at Chipotle with my wife tonight, while the kids are at activities. I figured out last night with the help of their nutrition calculator that it's doable. It's a little more carbs than I'm used to, but I'll eat accordingly throughout the day to be ready for it. I'm excited!

BINGO! That's a hard slide to get out of sometimes - why do we do that to ourselves?

Mine is not for today, but for later this week. When my girls go trick or treating this week, the "Switch Witch" is going to come overnight. This means they each get to keep 10 pieces of candy of their choice, and then the rest will be traded for a toy (SHOPKINS!), and the leftover candy will disappear. This way, they…

I don't like to quote kids movies, but in the words of the Penguins of Madagascar "Smile and wave, boys. Just smile and wave."

Everyone looks great on here! It's a great testament to dedication and hard work. Also, digging Sunny Bunny's Ramones shirt!

I was just using an immersion blender, which is quieter than the vitamix, but still early in the morning, it's enough to rouse the dogs and at least one kid. I was actually taking it all out to the garage to blend - this is a lot nicer.
-
Another nice bonus with the liquid coconut oil - I was able to make my coffee without using the immersion blender, which I'm sure is appreciated by my sleeping wife and kids at 4:30am
-
Yes ma'am, with all the other cooking oils.
-
Which liquid MCT oil do you use?
-
Btw, that Carrington Farms stuff is available at WalMart, Target, and my local Giant.
-
I'm using a liquid coconut oil from Carrington Farms in my coffee that advertises 4x more MCT'S than regular. I don't know how valid that claim is, but it mixes easily and has barely any taste. For cooking, we had a big jar in our kitchen already, and I'm using that till it's gone, then I'll look more closely when I buy my…

Sounds like it's working for you so far! This place is a wealth of information, although sometimes you have to do some digging. The search function is a little lacking. The people in this forum, though, are so helpful. Keep it up!

Anglyn1, I'm right there with you. I'm on call at work tonight, and have to stay, but forgot to bring extra food. I was running around the nearby grocery store looking for pork rinds. No luck. I think I'm always going to try to have a bag at home and one stashed somewhere at work.
-
It has been less and less each successive day, so possibly I'm getting used to it. If I put more coconut oil in or get some MCT oil this weekend, and it happens again, I'll know.

Weird. Well, I'm at the tail-end of my first 2 weeks. I'm going to continue and see what happens.

I hope your weekend went well, Etta. I'm interested to hear how you made it work! For my part, on Friday night after I took boys from church to a corn maze, my co-leader and I went to Hardees (Carl's Jr, for some of you). I had my first bun-less burger - it was way less weird than I thought it'd be, and also not as sloppy…
-
Will be hitting up the Hardees near me tonight after I take kids from church to the corn maze. I'm excited!
-
Not to hijack, but the search on this website is not so great. Where do those of you in the U.S. get your strips?
-
Thanks for this thread! I was playing around in the kitchen the other day, trying to make something like fat bombs without even knowing it had a name. These recipes are very helpful!

Thanks for the tips. I agree there's tons to read here. I plan to check as much if it out as I can. It'll keep me from asking questions that have probably been asked tons of times before (I can't imagine what it's like around here the day after New Years). For me, there's just something so cool about the continuity and the…

So far so good. Weight-wise, I'm about the same as when I started, because I couldn't decide if I was bulking or cutting. I decided to just commit to a cut, and have done cycle 3 so far on a cut. I got all my heavy day reps in all exercises so far. This cycle looks like it's gearing up to kick my butt, though. BP is going…

I'm with JustaGirl78. The only shoes I take to the gym are my Chucks. Best for squats and deads
