What a difference, Karlotta!

I used to think that the brain was the most wonderful organ in my body. Then I realized — well, look what's telling me this! - Emo Philips

Thank you guys! I now have Fat Burning Man and Vinnie on my subscription lists. I was actually expecting worse from Vinnie, in terms of vulgarity. I guess that speaks for the other stuff I listen to.

With all the leaf raking I've been logging as exercise, I made a monster pile for my daughters to jump into.

15 or so pounds ago at the end of the summer 15-20 more to go!

Thanks for the tip!

Hopefully this works. I know it's not Friday anymore, but I had a tough time finding a before pic. This was 15 lbs ago. Probably more, because I ate so much that day!

While we're on this - how do you guys handle entering foods here? I'm up to 31 days in a row, And I'd hate to break my streak, but MFP won't let you complete if you have too few calories.

I'm sorry to hear you're still hurting. I guess it's a good thing, though, that your appetite is low. Last time I injured my back, I ate like a pig. I guess I was trying to prove I was still able to do SOMETHING well. Hope you feel better!

Fatchimom, that is my big weakness too. I'll just go over to the PB jar with a big spoon, scoop it out and eat it. I love peanut butter forever!

bluefish86, thanks! I just found that on Pinterest yesterday

It depends where you got your pants. The actual circumference vs what is listed on the tag varies wildly from manufacturer to manufacturer. http://www.esquire.com/style/mens-fashion/a8386/pants-size-chart-090710/ this article is from 2010, but I'm sure it hasn't changed much

I also remember some big ol' bags of almonds

I don't reward myself with anything . I'm happy enough with my ongoing change. I'm asking for gift cards to clothing places for Christmas, though, for sure.

I agree with Ms. Voice. There are so many options. The only exercises I like are lifting weights, yard work, and golfing (walking, carrying my bag), so those are what I do. In the past, I'd run, because I thought that's what you do. The problem was, I HATED running. How long do you think I ever stuck with that? So much…

I'll have to check it out. Sounds entertaining.

I ate at a Chinese place on Saturday, and ordered Egg Drop Soup and Moo Goo Gai Pan, since those seem to be fairly frequently recommended for low carb. Now, I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure there was a buttload of cornstarch in each to thicken them up. It made me a little suspect.

Oh man! Phase 2! So many people from work brought their excess candy in here! I already had my indulgence last night at church group, though, so I will be avoiding that candy drawer and the table in the break room like the plague!

I've also heard good things about New Rules of Lifting for Women

Sorry, I just said pretty much the same as Auntstephie, only much less eloquently.

Your legs won't get big, especially eating at a deficit. Your legs will get shape. They'll lose fat and gain shape. You won't get big unless you eat at surplus and lift a WHOLE lot of weight.

I just started lifting weights again. I can't stand cardio. Some people swear by it, but I can't think of many things I like less. I'll take the dogs for a 30 minute brisk walk, but that's about it
-
Rebecca, isn't that a great feeling? So nice to not be a slave to crappy food!
-
Went down to the basement and lifted weights for the first time in 1 1/2 months, and have carved out time to do it again tomorrow.

Keep doing what I'm doing. Went to a party, and ate before I got there - skipped the cake. It's never been this easy for me to resist!
-
Cool! Thanks everyone - I'll check this all out.
-
That's great to hear - thank you very much!

Ha! That's great. I've found this WOE pretty inexpensive so far. By the end of November, I should be at the point where my clothes are starting to get baggy, though. That's where it'll become a little more pricey.

I ate NO candy while out Trick or Treating last night. Also, while the kids were sleeping, the Switch Witch came in the night, and the lion's share of their candy has been exchanged for a toy each. The candy is currently en route to an undisclosed location. Bring on Thanksgiving!

That's great! It helps a lot that your husband is in too. Good luck, and keep checking in!
