  • I had foot surgery at the end of May and just went back to Zumba last night. I am definitely hurting today though, but it is what it is. P90X ab routine is amazing and doesn't bother my foot at all.
  • When you're talking about loading your recipes into MFP, just load in the ones you make the most often. Most of us make the same dishes over and over. Load those ones in, then measure your portions.
  • Yogurt with granola and fruit I love the flavored cheerios - cinnamon, strawberry and banana Egg beaters scrambled with turkey sausage, a little onion and green pepper Vitamuffins (in the freezer)
  • :) I'd totally let my husband.....after I was done working out.....totally would be fun.
  • I look at a fat picture of myself. Reminds me why I'm doing without and suddenly I don't care about it anymore, because I am not going back to being that person.
  • I sweat buckets. I love doing Zumba, so in my head, I'm all elegant and sexy. In reality, unlikely.....seriously unlikely.
  • I cook on the grill those nights, doesn't heat up the house. Chicken breast....yumm! Throw on some hot dogs for the picky kid in the house.
  • Check out the Weight Watchers and 550 menu at Applebees. The sodium content is through the roof.
  • I set my goal based on a number I wanted. It meant very little. Then when I got there, I decided if I liked what I saw. I did, good enough for me. However, maintenance is extrememly hard and I'd lost my motivation to "diet" and put 20 back on. So I'll get back to that number. I learned my lesson, point taken. If I hadn't…
  • I'm not about to tell you that you can't ever have it, you've had plenty of advice here. But for me, I used to be a frequent fast-food eater and I rarely eat it now, 70 pounds lost. 1) It doesn't taste as good anymore, all I can taste is the salt. McDonald's filet o'fish used to be a favorite. 2) I feel like crap…
  • Carrot fries! I use baby carrots and slice them. Spray with pam, sprinkle with Mrs. Dash. Bake in the oven about 350 for about 45 minutes. They get to a really nice texture and taste great dipped in ketsup! My kids love it.
  • I love sherbert, a kind-of better option than ice cream. My daughter has a yonanas and we make our own - awesome and no guilt.
  • I love my balsamic chicken recipe from the Jenny Craig website. http://www.jennycraig.com/tools/recipes/details/59/result It's amazing. My husband is not a chicken fan and he likes it too. Becki
  • Diet soda has no calories, yet it dehydrates you and causes weight retention in the belly area. So personally, I only count pure water.
  • The high sodium just means you need to stockpile bottles of water with it to wash it out. Then of course you need to have a way to dispose of your chamber pot, with all that water.... Costco at least has coffins in stock....
  • I only go into the aisles at the grocery store for a very specific item. I think canned veggies and fruit is fine, but I think the poster was referring to "convenience" food in packages, like Hamburger Helper.
  • There's no "answer" to this question. Don't eat more than your body is going to burn off. If I know I'm going to Zumba that night, I eat a larger snack at my 3:00 time. I then skip dinner, because I can't exercise with it full. Then afterwords, have a snack size dinner, since there isn't time to burn that off before going…
  • I can put on 3 pounds overnight, if it's the right day of the month. Female cycles play a huge part in water retention (bloating). You mentioned eating processed snacks. Yes - we all do it. It takes additional water to wash out that extra sodium. Without enough water, that adds pounds right there. Keep at it. This is a…
  • Veggies, veggies and more veggies. I can eat a whole bag of carrots, but with fresh starting to come in season, everything is great. Some say watch your fruits, but quite frankly, none of us got the size we are by eating too many apples. Water is big - helps fill you up. I know in the beginning, I'd just go to bed early,…
  • Zumba is amazing - I wish I had the time to do it every day. If you don't click with the instructor - find another one! I've been to several, they are NOT all the same. In the beginning, I had to talk myself into going, all those same excuses you were saying. I have NEVER ONCE left a workout and said "I wish I hadn't…
