  • Vitamuffins, awesome flavors, $100 calories. I pair that with fruit, usually blueberries, that I eat in the car.
  • Water aerobics or aqua zumba might be a great idea as well. The water helps cushion the injured joints.
  • I disagree. Milk is meant for baby cows.
  • I do Zumba 4-5 times a week and sweat up a storm. What I love is hooking up my armband to the computer when I get home to see how many calories I burned. Awesome feeling.
  • Your calorie intake should never be under 1000/day, in my opinion, unless you're advised by a medical professional. The more you workout, the more you need to eat, especially protein. By eating too little, and exercising extensively, your body will enter a starvation mode and hold onto weight.
  • I eat an apple every day as I drive to work, then I eat a Vitalicious Muffin top when I get to work. About 160 calories total.
  • You can get a doctor's note, saying it's for your noise sensitivity and that it's required for your stress reduction. Then work has to accommodate you.
  • One thing that works for me is to look at myself in the bathroom mirror, without pants/shirt on. Look into my own eyes and say you can't lie to yourself inside. Is this how I want to be? If the answer is that you don't care, then you will have a hard time finding the motivation. But if you truly, inside, want to change,…
  • Water, if that counts. My breakfast was a vitamuffin, delicious!
  • I'd carry a no-soliciting sign in my pocket and pull it out when they get going. They'll get the picture. Tell them they're being pushy, I wouldn't worry about being rude since apparently they don't worry about it.
  • I've been there and feel your pain. The headaches will subside. I also found myself terribly tired all the time at the beginning, yawning like crazy. But improved diet, fresh fruits and veggies will turn that around. It's worth it in the end.
  • I did TOPS for years. It is definitely an older crowd and I found lots of excuses why their ailing knees or something stopped them from exercising. I did like the accountability of facing a scale every week and I needed that. However, it wasn't until I did Jenny Craig that I actually lost my weight. I needed a plan,…
  • I went cold turkey giving up my Pepsi for about a month. Then when I allowed myself soda again, it was diet. I can't stand regular soda anymore. But I almost don't like soda at all anymore, so I need to just quit it. But if I allowed myself a little, sometimes, I'd eat the whole thing. So if you have the ability to drink a…
  • Weigh yourself anytime you want, just be consistent and do it the same every day. Comparing your morning weight to the evening weight - you'll only get depressed. And I consider the scale my best friend, the only one who is brutally honest with me.
  • It probably doesn't matter, either way. But I would go with the clock and log it for today.
  • You can do it two ways. First, figure out the calories for the whole slice, then figure that you ate about 1/10th of it times 2 slices. The other way is to figure out the calories for store-bought pepperoni, prepared sausage, bacon, etc. Log something. It's probably not that many calories, but probably a lot of sodium.
  • I just looked at your diary. You had coffee - then didn't eat anything else until the 3-6 PM time slot. You can't lose that way. Your body is like a wood - stove. When you wake up in the morning, you have to stoke the fire. Not eating until 3 PM, your body is holding onto everything! Then 700 calories during the dinner…
  • 20 pounds it totally do-able for me! CW 198 GW 178 My final goal is 175, so I'm really shooting for 23 pounds. I know it can be done.
  • I wore a monitor (bodymedia.com) religiously for almost a year. In my Zumba class, I would burn 650-700 for the hour.
  • I went from a 42 or 44 DD to a 38D. Awesome! I didn't buy bras along the way, when I was finally ready to buy some, that's the same size I was when I hit my goal weight. I did, however, enjoy being able to wear tank tops with the bra built in to save the weight from my shoulders and let the grooves start fading.
  • I hit my goal weight, but unfortunately have put about 20 back on, so we're working on that again. When I was at goal, I saw a plastic surgeon. Unfortunately, I had loose skin that will not go away without surgery. I had lost 70 pounds. So definitely saving up for that procedure, as I still felt "fat" when I shouldn't have…
  • I love Zumba and love the music. My teenage girls can't believe mom loves some Pitbull!
  • I never eat it back, but that's just me. I've seen a lot of differing opinions on here. I know, for me, on a day I go to a Zumba class, I burn 700 calories in the hour. I typically up my calorie intake about 200 calories, good calories only! It totally works for me, but it took a little trial and error to get myself to…
  • I LOVE that you can buy hard boiled eggs at the grocery store that are already peeled. I usually have them in the fridge and throw two into a zip lock bag into my lunch bag. That typically is my driving home from work snack (which is at 3:00). That with a bottle of water takes care of it. Cheese sticks are great. I can't…
  • Marriage makes you happy and fat. Dinner out is our alone time, even if we have the four kids with us. An addition to fast food Not being a real fan of cooking my own food Doritos Pepsi Being too busy to exercise I broke the fast food addiction I took some cooking classes and now it's pretty fun My girls are teenagers now…
  • Yes, you can die from overhydration. The excess fluid strains the heart and it overworks the kidneys to get rid of the fluid. However, you would have to be chugging gallons at a time. If you are drinking it throughout the day, maybe 1 liter per hour or so, you're fine, you're just going to the bathroom an awful lot. :)
  • I remember when I started doing Zumba, I would compare my performance to those around me. I would come out on the short end of that performance. I don't know what kind of cario workout you're doing, but if it's a group workout, that could be part of the feelings. Your body has to get used to the extra energy needs before…
  • If it really had nothing else added, then it has very few. It's usually the chicken stock or the cream base that adds the calories. Potato is starchy, but the rest of what you had on the list is amazing. Eat it up!
  • Sounds like you do pretty good, when you're not thinking about it. So stop thinking of it as a diet. Think of it as making a healthier meal or just taking a little smaller of a portion. Maybe that will help. Good luck.
  • Every single day, in the morning after going potty. That's "my" weight, the only one I care about. When I was at my most psychotic, I was doing it 3 times a day, writing it down every time. But I did break that habit once I hit my goal weight.
