  • Hmm, yeah sometimes... lol Most certainly not when your 3 year old sees a larger man and shouts out "Mummy is that man fat because he ate all his dinner?" Or when your 7 year old comes back from the toilet with his Dad in a restaurant and says "Mummy, I went for a poo and think I lost a pound!" As you can guess, the gym,…
  • I take my phone in the gym but only to check the time and use the timer on. I don't answer any texts or calls. Unless it is DH, because that means something must be wrong as he knows I am at the gym... Although the last time he rang me I jumped off the bike in a panic answered the phone to be greeted with "Emma, what am I…
  • Sorry, but what is QFT?
  • Your comment about being non-confrontational except for at THAT time, sounds like me. Don't get me wrong I can speak my mind and be straight to the point when I really need to be, but I try to avoid "confrontation", also the embarrassment of standing there like a fool when the guy says "NO! you can't join in and NO! I am…
  • *just spat out my coffee laughing* (some even came out my nose!)
  • That statement is so true!! A friend of mine and a family member got married (not to each other) anyway, my friend had the traditional photographer putting people in their places and making them smile, it was a lovely day and some lovely photos. The family members photographers told the bride and groom to mingle properly…
  • LOL I was laid on my back and getting up and the guy sort of came up from the side of me and beat me to it. I would have literally had to jump and run to dash in front of him, like a child pushing in the queue to get sweets LOL
  • Thank you for all the replies. I know I need to just get out my comfort zone and be confident about doing it. I just hate the thought of pestering someone (I am a childminder and when a parent is late paying I HATE reminding them as I feel like a pest, I just can't help it) As for the resting and super heavy weights thing.…
  • I get what you are saying, but at the gym we have this key thing that you plug in to the machine and it reads exactly what you do then you log out at the end and it give you a breakdown of everything.
  • LOL, Yesterday the gym was really quiet and the trainer was working with me I was doing a set of BB squats then a set of 45 degree rows on the TRX, then back to the squats (I did 4 of these sets) by the end my heart was pounding out my chest and I was dripping, it felt good! The two lads on the machine next to me arrived…
  • Thank you so much for the replies. I definitely prefer the idea of him flirting rather than being an *kitten*... Not that I fancied him (I am married too) but it is an altogether nicer feeling thinking someone is flirting with you, rather than someone laughing at you. A lot of the guys there are nice and smile and say…
  • LOL, I like that!
  • Never said it was his problem did I? Still doesn't stop it being frustrating when someone hogs a machine without thinking or taking notice of the several signs dotted about the gym.
  • What do you mean wrap? Sorry if that is a dumb question LOL. I was working out all the date of the photos and it is has taken... 10 WEEKS and 2 days to get from first pic to last pic... And I have another 10 weeks until my holiday, I so cannot wait until I compare my pictures in June with these ones!
  • My problem is, I get a bit shy. Going up to a stranger and asking to join them is like my idea of hell LOL.
  • I suffer with endometriosis and can be doubled up in sheer agony sometimes. I always try to make it to the gym during "that" time, but sometimes I can barely stand, so going to the gym and trying to a squat with a barbell is an absolute no-no. However, that said I will always make up for it one way or another.
  • LOL... Sounds like you have been speaking to my MIL :) I love her too bits but she is constantly moaning about how fat she is. She is not massive by any means, but yes, she could lose a few lbs. Since I started losing weight she has noticed and made comments like "Wow, look how skinny you are, how did you do it?" - "With a…
  • Wooo Hooo I did it, this is the picture I was talking about... Thank for the PM telling me how to do pictures *yey*
  • You look FAB!!! I am so pleased I joined MFP I have a much more healthier view of my own personal goal. Before I properly came on the message boards, my goal was to be 110lbs, thinking I would look great and slim (pre-baby weight-ish)... However at 122lbs, now, I look better and have a better shape than when I did when I…
  • I am 5ft2" and started here at 143lb wearing very tight size 12's (UK) I set my goal at about 110lbs, I only have a very small frame, and I was that size before I had my babies when I was 21. However I am now 122lbs and very comfortable in a size 10 (UK) I am happy with my size now (although the ticker has my new goal of…
  • Is there a medical reason you cannot go over your protein, I had the same issue and posted and people kept saying to me to view the protein goal more as a minimum rather than a maximum, however my issue is I have kidney disease so I need to bump up my calories without bumping up the protein. I am guessing if you don't have…
  • I am the same height as you and in the same position, I have a wobbly tummy and from MY point of view (usually looking down LOL) it is still big. I really think you need to eat more, I hear so many people waffle on about this TDEE stuff and whatever, but actually in your case 1000 calories is WAY to little. I am have upped…
  • Day 3 - Done!
  • Thank you everyone, I really do appreciate all the advice giving and it is always taken on board. I think I am just having a crappy day overall. My kids are both ill, I am stuck indoors, and being self-employed I have had to cancel my work for the rest of the week (no relevance to MFP or my diet, just my mood in general)…
  • Well I would like to like them, but whenever I have had nuts I get a bumpy rash all round my neck and cheeks. As for avocado, well I guess that is something I will have to try more and more of.
  • For the past few weeks I have cut down my cardio to about 30 minutes (10 minute warm up, then 20 minutes ellpitical/treadmill) I am also doing a lot of TRX stuff and weights. I do this 3x a week. Also on one day the trainer at the gym does a circuit with a few ladies who have kindly invited me to join them so I do that one…
  • Thank you, I guess I am just getting a bit frustrated. I think I will have to look at adding more pasta and rice. It is so hard with so much conflicting advice, being told to cut down on carbs and have more fruits and veggies. Then being told off for not eating enough calories LOL. At the moment it just feels like a no win…
  • Thank you very much for the reply. I don't want a rock hard sort of look, but more the softer look. I just worry about eating too little as I don't want to lose too much more weight. But on the same note, it might be that I need to lose a few more pounds of fat. It is all a bit confusing to me if I am really honest. I know…
  • I sometimes plan in advance also. I think it is a good idea to plan, that way you know where you are with your food and don't go in to overload by accident LOL
  • *bum ache*
