@katharmonic I had my teeth cleaned yesterday and the hygienist's daughter is an ER nurse. She said you wouldn't believe the frequency they treat OD's and self harm. Just in the two weeks after Alex died, his sister needed to an in treatment mental health facility (thank G-d she spoke up), a friend of her cousin committed…

Does anyone have a monthly question to start us off with? A monthly question. This year has been challenging mentally, emotionally and physically (for some of us). How are you coping? What do you do to get back on track? What challenges do you face and how are you managing them? (hint: if you are not it's time to do so).…

ugh @bearly63 I am sorry to hear the not so great news with the hip and bone. I hope the biologic med isn't expensive, if that's what you decide to do. Only thing I can suggest is so look ahead 10-15-20 years and do the best you can to manage or head it off. I don't think giving up exercise is a good idea, it is suppose to…

I did not mention it here. This group made efforts to send him letters in boot camp (Feb 2017), but I think many have moved on and are no longer active. I of course appreciate the thoughts.

@noblsheep Good luck with the ukulele! My son played it a bit, it is upside down from any other stringed instrument if I remember correctly. You have any inspirations? I love IZ, Aloha ka manini is prob my current favorite, and of course his Somewhere Over the Rainbow. I bought a cello to go with the violin. It's fun,…

Yes! at 3 weeks! it is awesome! last time it took 3 months to see that much healing. ETA @shanaber I don't know if you remember the conversation with Kevin (MobyCarp) regarding the initial spike in HR. So many of is would see it in our garmin data. The suspicion was that the HRM didn't have good contact until you worked up…

@noblsheep @katharmonic struggles For what it's worth, I really enjoy the company of both of you. @noblsheep I always seek out your post to see how you are doing. @katharmonic You defiantly are an inspiration for me, all the wisdom and physical accomplishments and goals give me hope. So lean when you need me/us, we are…

Oh it is broke-ish. They re did the femur osteotomy July 1st. Bone cut in half and reoriented 20 degrees, new rod cemented in and screws. Dh was teasing me "why are you limping, what's the matter with you?". Lol! Derp forgot crutches... I think you can see where they cut it...

@katharmonic Love the Life Worth Living 4K suicide prevention run and a corn maze to boot! I lost my son to suicide last month. It is not an easy experience. "Roughly 146,000 people have died from COVID or COVID-related causes in the U.S., according to CDC data. The most recent publicized federal data records 48,000 deaths…

My BP was 108/60 yesterday at the docs. After 2 cups of coffee? hmm... At the hospital I think it was 110/65, mostly all doped up. I am sure it's really 130/80 most of the time because I am so sedentary. Pizza for dinner. I am hoping to turn in a bit early. I'm tired. DH wanted to run out to pay respects to Alex this…

I watched Hamilton on my ipad. I even turned off the time out, assuming that was the issue without any luck. I could use the PS4 or the roku, perhaps with better luck. But I watch everything else from the ipad. I did find an app for it. I bet that works better.

Scale is down a tad today... suspiciously states "What's going on, Universe? I know this is a trap". PA/PCP Office phoned this AM regarding my blood work yesterday, checking where my liver enzymes were. All fine except my blood calcium is a tad high. But I don't think it is. It was 10.1. I'll mention it to my orthopeadic…

season 10 came out on netflix this week... I watched it all... hehehe! ETA William H Macy is just to die for in this role though. You hate him / you love him.. efn frank.

@shanaber Ugh, glad your DD found some employment... Sounds stressful and competitive and trying. You would think she would not have such a hard time getting in where she wants with her credentials. I'll keep my fingers crossed for her. @quilteryoyo I can't imagine that 1989 is old and the parts being hard to find! That…

PA wasn't much help for the toe. I don't get why removing the nail isn't going to help... So, good ol' rx and see if it tries to kill my liver, again. I think I'll phone the podiatrist. I did talk to her (PA) about resuming the antidepressants on record... I am having a horrible day, just horrible nonstop crying. DD said I…

I really love the brain cells in this group. You guys are nice to listen to and chat with . Just FYI. (I might be missing some stimulating adult conversation in my life.)

@Avidkeo Ouch! was it the soleus that you tore? Any chance of swimming? Rain finally here. I'm to tired for a wordy/thoughtfilled update. Poor sleep again (pain). I think I am just SOL until it passes. Visit with a PA today for the toe nail fungus that was just kept at bay with the jublia, and I am out of it now. Won't do…

This may be the week I force myself to do more normal. I have 2 appointments and one errand. I also promised myself to visit Alex's grave. I have those journals and thought to start on them and there is a granite vase, I thought perhaps I could plant a small nandina in it. I'm not sure it'll survive the heat or cold being…

Russia eh? wow. Doesn't that implement our own government? I did a quick google search and saw that Garmin was having to rebuild from ground up, assuming they add further security measures and the cost would/could be passed on to users. I agree. The US has never (that i know of, catered to terrorists demands), I wouldn't…

@HonuNui The weblink to donate. I think MFP is okay with that... if not I am sure they'll remedy it. It is a fundraiser, not self promotion or profit. I am going to donate once i get my depressed lazy keister off the couch and find a credit card... Eric signed up ya know.

@T1DCarnivoreRunner How do you manually upload to strava from the watch? DH is running and hasn't messed with it yet. I think he has a 935 or maybe a 735, I have the fenix 5 too. TIA ETA I looked at it and it seems rather straight forward. Nice about garmin being down, my scale "forgets" how much I weigh daily, LOL! Any…

@ddmom0811 DH was just saying he needs running motivation. How would he join the challenge? My Garmin is still down, is anyone's back up?

Ya, I don't l know how she managed that. She has a friend who is a pilot. Or maybe the money she raised from her go fund me page. DH thinks she is married to a guy there. This girl is a drug addict and does not have the mean to vaca. So, opportunist I guess. I was thinking, How hard would it be to destroy the headstone if…

Monument set. I like it, for what purpose it serves ya know. I am cautiously hopeful no one is crazy enough to break into it for the cremains. There had been some vandalism a few weeks back with this statue/BLM thing (I don't keep up with it) and they seem to have tightened up access and hopefully added cameras. The…

Hey that right arm pain and all, sounds like a gallbladder attack. It shares the same nerve, my DD has some odd variation in her nerve and it didn't present as a textbook case, which is right shoulder. Hers was actually left back. Any way, bets on gallbladder. @skippygirlsmom WOW! scary. Really glad it wasn't cardiac. Hope…

I have a white one from oiselle I like. It has a zipper in the hat for a card, cash, id, key, etc... It is a heavier hat though. ETA @quilteryoyo Love the bling! You look quite a bit slimmer now, from your profile pic!

I have one HeadSweats hat and have yet to wear it. I have a child sized head for one, two it was sent to me from St Jude's, so I'm kinda emotionally attached to it, their cause, and my youngest son, Alex's nickname was Jude.
