In for all the comparing women to cars... Oh wait. Eff that.
-
I think this applies to both men and women. But i'm into both so maybe my opinion doesn't matter. LOL.
-
oh then I gues disregard my comments. Didn't know my opinion didn't mattered because I'm not straight.

a human being who loves and respects you, and loves and respects herself. What kinda question is this?!?!
-
Maybe the difference here is I don't feel like I have no power to make a difference. And I believe turning a blind eye to the problems is a part of the problem.

Easier to blame the victim than to take personal responsibility.

This assumes we all experience the same level of injustice and opportunities in our daily lives which just isn't true. The people who can choose to see or not, sure this may apply. Eta: I also don't agree that recognizing injustice equals being filled with hate or being miserable, nor do I think it means you can't be aware…

I agree with this. Though I think personally that my unhealthy relationship with food is what made me obese in the first place. I believe personally from studies i have listened to NPR talk about (cuz NPR) that staying at maintenance involves keeping a food log. I believe the mistake you are making is not adjusting your…

I use the exercise function of MFP. Am i missing something? I use run keeper to track distance and pace.

great job! doens't it feel amazing to be able to do more than you could before?? I may be having a brain fart, but what is the last lift you have listed? "BR"? ETA: looked it up. nevermind. Barbell Row. Which didn't occur to me because...that's how I row :) But now i want to know, if anyone does, is there a difference…

I also have this issue. I don't like cooked carrots. But see my post above where I found a recipe where i am more than happy to eat cooked carrots.
-
I love carrots. Eat them raw. But I also have a recipe that I like- you can vary it to your needs- but I went to someone's house for dinner and she made this weird enchilada thing and said her mom always made it when she was a kid. It looked wierd when she made it, but now I crave it. Chop into tiny chunks carrots and…

I love reading. My most recent delicious read was Zealot: the life and times of Jesus.

maybe i'm misunderstanding, but if you are saying you worked up to 100 lbs on the back squat and then tried 100 lbs on the front squat, you may want to rethink that. I back squat just shy of 200 and front squat 90.

these things have pretty much never helped me with a craving once it's started. I'm not saying they aren't good ideas for others, but for me, I have had a belly full of water and carrots and was still wanting a cupcake. Two days later, I still wanted the cupcake. So i just ate the friggin' cupcake. Then I was cool with no…

what you refer to as "eating clean" i just call eating. Though sometimes I will also include cupcakes and potato chips and ice cream, which I'm guessing doesn't count. :)

I think this forum can be divided into two groups: (1) dieters (2) lifestylers I'm a lifestyler. I don't ever make a decision to do something I can't do for the rest of my life with ease and contentment. My work out schedule is as much a part of my life as taking my vitamins and brushing my teeth. My eating does not…

also, just because i think it's legit relevant: I ate chocolate every single day of the first five months where I lost almost 40 lbs. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I just ate only 70 calories of it.
-
Well, before a craving hits, things like drinking lots of water and having frequent healthy snacks definitely helps. When a genuine craving happens, I go for it. I try to balance it though- like don't eat an entire bag of chips. And if you do, make sure you burn a lot of calories that day (some people say you shouldn't do…

I do 5/3/1 and I think my problem is I could never peg down my "maintenance" calories. I tried 1700-1900 and ended up gaining weight (and fat) even tho I was lifting. (That was TDEE minus 10-20% supposedly). Feels like maintenance , for me, has been weight fluctuation between 123 and 145 (tho I admit 123 is too small for…

I don't think anyone blames people for the actions of their ancestors. But people are to blame for pretending the reverberations of the past have no impact on the present.

I'm confused about this as well. Though maybe some people have responded to this scenario by calling him anti-semetic names... which, we should all know, isn't ok.

but that's exactly what public opinion is. there was a time when this would not have a been a problem because racism was considered "acceptable." Thanks to the hard work of civil rights activists, that is no more. And the reason people don't get banned for homophobic slurs is because currently the "acceptability" of…

and yet i still don't know. Why won't you post it in the thread? That's just weird.
-
can you explain this to me? Like in kinda details. Like are you saying just eat TDEE and lift?

You are correct. And apparently that is now the law in my state too. But only 11 states have that law now... and I wonder which law would apply if one person was in Ca (where both parties must consent) and the other is in NY (where only one party has to consent to it)....tho apparently even in Cali's law, if you are in a…
