Run on New Years Eve as well as New Years Day. ( DONE! 12/31 ran 1.52 miles & 1/1 ran 1.71 miles) Strava: 5K challenge & "Fleet Feet", run or walk a min of 3x/week for 4 weeks. Run for 15 - 20 miles. 1/1 - Ran 1.71 miles (1.71 run, 13.29 - 18.29 remains) Crazy, but I really wanted to earn those little "virtual" awards or…

12/2 - Ran 2.02 miles 12/3 - Ran 3.05 miles 12/5 - Ran 1.55 miles 12/7 - Ran 4.11 miles 12/17 - Ran 2.01 miles 12/25 - Ran 2.01 miles 12/31 - Ran 1.52 miles (16.27 done) Original Dec goal was 30 miles, so I went over half way, & that was with having 2 migraines in the month! I'm not too upset with that, to be honest. My…

Thanks @Elise4270! Last year, I went against my personal "no goals/resolutions" thing and made some. Shockingly, I did not live up to them: Run 250 miles - Only 76.45 more to go! Yoga at least 1x a week - Nope. Not even close Maintain a consistant running pattern - Sha. Not even a non-consistant pattern! Cleaner with my…

The app is "Is It Vegan". It is a really good app, but not every food is in there, I found. I found for a quick reference, if you are looking a packaged foods, then look for the shorter lists. If you can't pronounce the ingredients, then really is it something you want to consume? If you see "whey" or "casien" put it back,…

12/2 - Ran 2.02 miles 12/3 - Ran 3.05 miles 12/5 - Ran 1.55 miles 12/7 - Ran 4.11 miles 12/17 - Ran 2.01 miles 12/25 - Ran 2.01 miles (14.75 done) Run again before the end of the year? DONE Run by the end of the year & then again beginning of the new year? HALFWAY THERE... Run without a headache? SO FAR, SO GOOD

@quilteryoyo Thanaks so much for the link. I thought I looked through all the articles I could find, most were geared for what I call "simple headaches" (cold compress and a couple of asprin), but there were a few tips there that I hadn't thought about. @LoveyChar For me, I prefer running on empty. It seems to keep my…

My last post was Dec 17th when I had run 2 miles. A few hours later, I felt the tightness in the head, and sure enough, I had my 2nd migraine in two weeks. I've not had headaches like that in a long, long time. So, this morning rolls around and naturally, I'm gun shy about running again, especially with the holiday coming…

Goal: 30 miles 12/2 - Ran 2.02 miles 12/3 - Ran 3.05 miles 12/5 - Ran 1.55 miles 12/7 - Ran 4.11 miles 12/17 - Ran 2.01 miles (12.74 done, 17.26 miles remaining) Last week, not the best. Started with a migraine for 3 days, then I hurt my knee as I was walking out of work. Then...well, I was just lazy. Also was not constant…

Saw this on the local-ish news yesterday morning. Towards the end, I had tears in my eyes... https://fox6now.com/2019/02/13/long-may-they-run-ed-and-sandy-are-fixtures-at-races-fun-runs-across-se-wisconsin/

@durhammfp Way to go!! That is awesome for you! I can't even imagine running at those paces, so you are laping even me, my friend, and at your 1st 5K to boot. Proud of you for beginning to recognize running your own race, too. Do you listen to podcasts at all? If so, there is a motivating runner, Kelly Roberts, who has…

Goal: 30 miles 12/2 - Ran 2.02 miles 12/3 - Ran 3.05 miles 12/5 - Ran 1.55 miles 12/7 - Ran 4.11 miles (10.73 done, 19.27 miles remaining) Not my best effort, I've had better runs, I've had worse. I did half road, then finished up on the trails in the state park. At one point, about 2.75 miles, I was running at a pretty…

@Kaitie9399 & @T1DCarnivoreRunner Good luck to you both!! @mbaker566 Had I known you and Speed Demon were going to be in my "back yard" this morning, I would have brought my girl to cheer you on! Sorry. Hope you had fun anyway.

After what seemed like years of debating "Should I/Shouldn't I get one" myself, I finally broke down and got one (during the Amazon sales, got a 6qt for like $40). Now I ask myself why I waited. I love it! Do you HAVE, OH MY GAWD HAVE to have one? No. Plenty of food prep can be done with stove/micro/hotplate/rice…

Goal: 30 miles 12/2 - Ran 2.02 miles 12/3 - Ran 3.05 miles 12/5 - Ran 1.55 miles (6.62 done, 23.38 Miles remaining) Walked yesterday morning. Planned to run before work, but I knew the temps were going to be low. So I decided to set the alarm early enough, then see. I got up & dressed, knew it was only a 1.5 today, told my…

Happy birthday to @shanaber and @Scott6255!! @PastorVincent I'm not diggin' that run the birthday miles thing! 51 miles...in a day....? Not even sure I could do that in a month! Nope, my birthday is a planned rest day and my Packers will trash da bears at Lambeau as their gift to me.

This may be part of it. You MAY be over goaling yourself, and it just isnt fun anymore? Instead of doing the 5K, then immediately heading for a HM, why not hit a few more 5K's? Try a 10K or two, or just have a little fun with it? I speak from my own experience, once I started having specific goals I wanted to hit and races…

@UTMBdreams Sorry about that! I know MFP has been having a ton of issues, I know I can no longer seem to use my phone app, which sucks as I used it ALL the time. It no longer synchs with the laptop. I just use my laptop to access MFP. Keep running, and hope to see you soon!

Oh, I don't. The only one I compare myself to is myself. I was laughing about it, same as when I see people post on IG "oh, I had such a slow run, I was 9-something...blah blah blah!" I was in the low 12's before I had my foot surgeries & now I am a card carrying member of the Slow As Molasses In January Running Up An Ice…

SMH - hurt your foot, started running slower, yet it is still faster than my current pace times! Hope your foot is feeling better soon, @PastorVincent !

Goal: 30 miles 12/2 - Ran 2.02 miles (2.02 done, 27.98 miles remaining) Man, it was cold! 27F per the school's sign as I finished up, but in my mind, it was colder. Dunno why, though. And I thought, felt like I was s l o w. Like, slower than I usually am. Turns out, I wasn't.

@Faebert Hugs to you! My mother is a 2X breast cancer SURVIVOR! She had it 25 years ago, had a lumpectomy, then, last year, at 74 years old, had it again, same breast. Had to have a mastectomy, but thankfully no chemo. I know there is a possibility of me getting it, so I applaud you for being proactive in it. Sending…

I'm going to go for 30 miles this month. How to I chose races? Usually they are ones I have done before and repeat. However, being new in the area, I look for those in my running capabilities and close to where I am, and that do not cost a lot, either. I also look for ones that will challenge, such as a few years ago, I…

@mbaker566 I feel ya girl! I would be so happy if there were "no kids" races! I'm sorry, but I run in the back of the pack, and on more occasions then not, I've been run into, or had to stop short, or weave on a dime because of kids and/or strollers. it does get frustrating. The idea of "Oh, lets do a 5K as a family!"…
