Yes, go to a running store and have your gait analyzed. They do this for free. You can then try on different pairs of shoes that fit your gait and even run in them on the treadmill or my local store lets you run outside even. I developed a slight overpronation when I switched to minimalist style shoes. I used to have a…

Arms across your chest or at your side so you're not pulling on your neck. I have this problem doing Army APFT tests. We have to keep our fingers interlocked behind our head. Well when I get towards muscle failure I'm pulling my body with my legs and my head is being pulled by my arms. My neck will be stiff all the next…

Had a neutral gait until I switched to a more flexible, minimalist style shoe. I picked up a slight overpronation. Worst thing I ever did was to go minimalist. Had to retrain my gait again using a pair of Brooks Ravenna4. What I wound up doing was landling properly on my heel, but as my foot came under my body up to the…

If I'm not sure, such as when I'm on the mobile app, I'll go with the one that has the higher calorie count. I'd rather be safe than sorry. If I'm that worried about it I'll sort it out when I get to my laptop..... but at least I have something logged in the meantime. I've not logged a food for that reason but forgot to…

Movie: Limitless Video game: Well, I already got the BF3 and CoD series covered (soldier) so I guess World of Warcraft (pre-Pandaria)

My wife and I alternate doing this between unflavored and chocolate whey. Syntha6 gives about the best chocolate flavor in coffee. Make sure you add the protein to the coffee after you've cooled it with milk first. Heat does bad things to protein.

Chinese buffet and a big plate of sesame chicken :P

It really depends on what you're doing. Diet and exercise? You'll see a change faster. If you're drinking plenty of water your body won't hold onto so much, helping you see results a little faster. I would have to agree that it could be as little as a few weeks to several months. The several months would probably be…

My gym has personal trainers of all shapes and sizes. The more fit and ripped ones always seem to be with the fit and ripped looking clients. I mentioned military and was paired up with a fit and ripped one who was very familiar with military pt standards and what is expected of me. First time I almost puked at a gym. It…

Gobonas hit the nail on the head about DOMS. I'm a day 2 person as well... Now, what is recommended is taking a protein shake (about 34 grams is supposedly optimal post workout) immediately after lifting. The protein will be digested and get a fresh supply of amino acids to your muscles to start repair. Whey protein in…

What a load of horse crap. We are all now dumber for having read it, I award her no points, and may God have mercy on her soul.

I do 90% of the time. One reason is because I go to the gym 7 days a week after work. Second is because I wear coveralls at work (Army mechanic) so jeans would be too sweaty. Third is because when I wear regular clothes I'm less likely to change and go to the gym or for a run.

Sweat the weight off in the sauna and drink a slurpee size cup of hot water and a cup of Epsom salt..... This was in effort to lose weight for meps. Consequently, if the sauna doesn't kill you you'll be in the bathroom within 5 minutes after the Epsom salt.

Gah.... I don't understand the reasoning behind this. You have a basic calorie amount given to you based on your amount of daily activity. I lowered mine and it was only about a 500 calorie difference. I don't buy into logging things you do around the house. I mow the lawn and do general yard work and don't enter it. I'm…

It is possible but very hard. You need to be at a caloric deficit to lose weight but you have to realize that you won't be maximizing your muscle gains as if you were eating normally or bulking. I'm 6'3" and 229lbs. I have a bit left to lose but have packed on a lot of muscle. I eat at a deficit but ensure to have 150-200g…

Eating before means your body is fueled for your workout. You don't need to do this. Army, we do pt before breakfast. It can be tough eating before working out because it may not sit right with you. Your body diverts blood and this could lead to dumping too. Runners experience this and have to be very careful of what they…

Proper hydration to keep your skin elastic... Keep working out and losing... Your skin 'should' shrink back but it'll take time. Even those people with dramatic weight loss because of surgery have to wait a year after maintaining their weight loss to get the surgery to remove the excess skin. Just give it time.

tip: If you don't have an internet ready tv that you can watch youtube on then you can program it into a laptop and use an hdmi cable to plug it into your tv, essentially using the tv as a huge monitor and speakers. (Just make sure you have an hdmi on your laptop and tv)

Gasoline. Had to siphon some off with a hose the other day :P Seriously though, probably gotta say Monster Protean. 15g of nasty chemical in a can. And I love Monster drinks...

I get that way. It's usually when I've been overworking my body. I'll find my food cravings are up and I'm extra tired. Well, then I eat more and take a day off. I try to eat healthy still, or keep the bad food to a minimum as I don't want to go bonkers, but I want to really enjoy something I'm not normally allowing myself…

Do what makes you happy :) I can argue against them all day. There's no link between diet soda and obese people, but neither is there a link between diet soda and thin people. But the artificial sweeteners aren't the best for your body. They're a very acidic soda, meaning it will dissolve your teeth without meticulous…

Popcorn without the butter... the butter is killing your calories. I go with my wife now and we'll get a medium popcorn and a large water. We share this. Usually we'll eat about 2/3 of the popcorn. However, I know this is coming so I do extra exercise and eat a little less..... because I like my popcorn with butter. I…

My favorite splurge would be Chinese food. I'll hit a local buffet. I get one plate (really like 12 pieces) of sushi, one plate of a mix with white rice, sesame chicken, Mongolian green beans, and mussels, then maybe another plate with just a bit of some seafood... maybe. Usually those 2 plates is plenty to fill me up. I…

What's your bodyfat percentage? A lot of people hold onto weight there. For a nice chiseled six pack you'll need "about" 7% bodyfat. Do you work your ab muscles? If not it may never tone up as you simply don't have the muscles there to do what you want. You can't target a particular area for fat loss so maybe some cardio…

Be straight with her and stand your ground. No means no, even if it's your mother. Your an adult now..... Cleanses aren't good for you. It sounds like you're doing things the healthy way so don't change. Don't break that habit. If you realize how hard it was growing up with somebody berating you for your weight and now…

I have a Golds Gym set I got from Wal Mart a couple years ago. I use it when I'm away from home. It comes with a workout dvd as well that gets you really sweating and working hard. They now offer several different sets for under $30. Not a bad investment to try something new.

Those are awesome results!!!! Keep up the good work!

Ok, with that you'll have better performance in the evening. Your body is fueled since you've been eating all day and much more limber which decreases injury. Running before breakfast helps you burn upwards of 20% more bodyfat since you're not burning any food for fuel.

Caldwell college came and spoke with us (Army) about doing certification classes with them and personal trainer was one of them I considered. Only reason I didn't was that I'm currently going to school and finishing my Bachelor's degree. Most likely I'll do a program such as this when I'm done. http://www.caldwell.edu/
