  • yip zumba is great on the kinect, some people say its not as good as being in a class but its still great fun and a cracking burn, might come down in price soon too as zumba 2 has just been released for the wii so i imagine it won't be long before its available for the kinect (i hope)
  • your shape: fitness evolved 2012 is quite good, nice bit of variety with work outs
  • thank you for this thread, my father has been suffering severe gallstone attacks for a while now and has been scheduled to have his gallbladder removed at the end of january. i admit i was a little bit worried about it as he's not local to me (although i'm sure mum will look after him) and i wouldn't be able to make sure…
  • well done. it was brave of you to say that to your friend but it was the right thing to do, and in time your friend will realise this. things will probably be frosty for a while but i reckon you two will be friends again. being told things we don't want to hear hurts, even the small things, this was a biggy but needed to…
  • i try and burn a minimum of 300 a session, which has been about 3 times a week but i have recently started to increase this to every day (not set in stone if i need/want a rest day i'll have one) using a variety of activities from running, cycling, gym sessions, and using fitness games on the kinect, some burns will be…
  • i use the kinect system and i log all of the games i use on it as exercise, even kinect adventures cos i get really out of breath and my heart rate goes up, i have zumba for it (waiting for 2 to be available) and according to my hrm i burn approx 450 cals during an intermediate 45min work out so it is a good burn. i have…
  • i have no co-ordination what so-ever so i know exactly where you are coming from, i am the person moving in the opposite direction to everyone else. i no longer permit myself to do step classes despite enjoying them as there are only so many times you can fall off one without injuring yourself or the person next to you.…
  • santa has been very generous to us this year. he brought me a new sports bra with enough support for long distance running (if i ever get that fit), a buff (to wear when running), your shape fitness evolved 2012 for the kinect (surprised at this as i hardly used 2011) and he also brought me an air popcorn maker
  • snow in Cheshire (just outside crewe)! keeps switching between sleet and big fluffy stuff, big fluffy stuff is winning at the moment and its trying to settle, which is pretty but i'm at work right now which means hard work keeping the station platforms clear and got to go down country lanes later to pick up dog food and…
  • i work at a train station so get stupid requests all the time. but the best one had to be "can i have a ticket to Scotland?" and they truely didn't understand that there was more than one place in Scotland. i also get "can i have cheap to to [insert place]?" and when asked what day they would like to go they have no idea
  • have a search round etsy and sites similar to that, there are lots of independant artists (including dressmakers) on there its full of retro stuff quite often one of a kind and although some is pricey a lot is a bargain, just had a quick nosey and yip some nice items on there
  • spend some time outdoors a lot of people feel a bit like this at this time of year due to lack of daylight (seasonal affective disorder). but i would certainly speak to your doctor
  • stardust se7en or is it .. young sherlock holmes the road to wellville guess it depends on my mood at the time, certainly don't like to miss any of them and have them ready to watch at any time (watched startdust last night)
  • hearing fairytale in new york on the radio (i heard it for the first time today)!!
  • at this time of year i just put my phone in my jacket pocket, i don't use the app with music so just have the voice on speaker when it says anything as i don't like to run with headphones for safety reasons. in milder weather i have both a waist band and arm band, i tend to use the waist band more as i don't have to take…
  • most annoying thing i was told was by my other half a few weeks ago. i had just come back in from a run and he was stood behind me, he then proceeded to tell me that my leggings were see through and he could see my knickers. people may say that was embarassing (and it was) but what annoyed me was that he had seen me…
  • i hope its not on itv2 that means i've been missing them damn it :-(
  • not m&s in birmingham i refuse to believe i am as fat as those mirrors make me look. talk about a shock to the system
  • having had the pleasure of working alongside several gurkhas in the past they certainly live up to that reputation and are some of the nicest and most respectful people i have ever met
  • gloves. when it starts to get cold a pair of running gloves are a godsend,
  • i started running again. i used to love cross country as i like being out in the fields and woodland so on my day off i go up to my local forest and do a run/walk up there and watch the squirells and birds etc. on other days i've started running round my local streets and to keep me motivated i signed up to game on a…
  • i only have freeview so don't get to watch them apart from the uk series, but i have seen the the us series in past and i love it. i love all weight loss and fitness shows always have. roll on christmas when worlds strongest man comes back to channel 5 (whoooo hoooo!)
  • i heartily recommend fetcheveryone, its a spin off from the runners world magazine forums, predominantly for uk users but it does have international ones too, its full of information, in the form of forums, blogs and articals, its a very social website and i've found it really useful over the years. it has some great…
  • i'm a bit of a technophobe, and have tried a couple of the free apps for android phones but didn't get on with them for various reasons. would it be possible to put a podcast onto an ipod shuffle? i ask as not everything is geared for shuffles. and if so how would i do it?
  • ok so this one isn't food but just been into aldi and they have got some winter sportswear for running and cycling in, at further reduced prices, i picked up a very unfashionable but very practical ear warmer for £1.49, they had gloves, cycling tops, base layers, cycling trousers etc. they also had socks and i was gutted…
  • the way i understand it is if you burnt 282 cals thats what you burnt. the zones refer to how long you spent in either the aerobic (getting fit)zone or the weight loss zone, i can't remember which its set to, anytime out of the zone you are still in the other unless you were really giving it some and ended up anaerobically…
  • i love newcastle, i only lived there for 7 years but it always felt like home and despite leaving that area 5 years ago i still miss it terribly (especially at this time of year, i always want to know what fenwicks window is like). if me and the other half had jobs we could walk into up there straight away i'd be dragging…
  • i will probably not indulge as much as usual, as my parents will be with us for dinner and dad is having problems with gall stones at the moment and has been told to severly monitor his fat intake, and i don't want to parade lots of temptation in front of him, there will still be lots of goodies but not as much as usual
