GOOD news about our little Luna! Her chest x-rays were sent to a specialist, and the experts say she DOES NOT have an enlarged heart!!! They say she has chronic bronchitis...two weeks of two antibiotics and a med for cough, and she should get better! A lot of tears were shed at our house this week, but now we are shedding…

Wednesday wish: I have FOUR ... 1) that I could stave off the munchies. I really don't do too bad, I don't think. My daughter brought home a bag of Oreos. I had three. In my B.MFP. days, I would have eaten half the bag! 2) that my little Luna wouldn't be as sick as I think she is. (She is the little gray Italian Greyhound…

@Butterfly ~ Thanks for writing your story. This could have been written by my daughter. My hearts breaks for her (and for you) as she is still trying to heal after dumping him 3 years ago (she went back to him twice). He made her feel important and special, yet degraded her to the point she felt she didn't deserve any…

Is it 8:00 p.m. already??? Where do the weekends go??? @Butterfly ~ Good for you on having only a quarter piece of cake! Portion control is the key. We CAN'T cut out everything! @Angelika ~ That 3 pounds will be gone in no time! That's what happens to me when I weight every day. I'll be up a couple then back down. Congrats…

Saturday success: I managed to exercise every day this week except Friday. Saturday UN-success: I was down to my lowest weight since joining MFP last Saturday then up 4 pounds by Monday. I was down 3 pounds today, so I'm up one pound. :grumble: Soooo, I'm trying to take Susan's advice and eat less and move more! @trhjrh06…

I miss naceto, too! @kaye ~ I've had two total knee replacements and am so happy I did! Hope your mom gets along well. PT is crucial in recovery! Hugs to her!

@kjeffries2 ~ What is the anti-inflammatory eating plan? Maybe you told us already and I missed it. Tuesday goals: I'm loving the pool at the Fitness Center so plan to keep doing that every day. Went golfing today and still went to the pool this evening. Hubby thought walking/jogging in a pool with a current couldn't…

Monday check-in: Did TONS of bike riding over the weekend...2 hours on Saturday and 80 minutes on Sunday! Plan to water walk the TURTTLE pool this week. The pool stays open until 9:30, so it works well with my schedule. By the time I get home from school, fix a little supper, walk the dogs (???), it gets late. I can make…

@liz ~ Changing your goal from 2 lbs. to 1 lb. per week might be just what you need to keep losing. When I belonged to Curves, their diet had three phases. It was similar to the South Beach diet. I started out on Phase 1 for one week. On that phase, I ate high protein/low carbs, and I was VERY limited on carbs. Then I went…

Yes, we have one for our district. We have ten elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school, and he works for all of them. For the students with behavior issues, he observes and meets with students, consults with teachers and special educators, contacts parents, consults with principals and outside agencies,…

I did the same thing! It helped me not get so down on myself when I went over! I feel this is more doable! Last summer I was able to lose 2 pounds a week, but I was exercising A TON! Now that my exercise has slowed down, I am not losing as fast. I, too, just want to keep the scale moving down. Good luck to us!

Saturday success: Well, I lost that 2 pounds I gained last week. Don't feel like celebrating since I've already hit that weight before. Hope to continue the trend so I can celebrate next week! I feel like this journey has been slow. Since I joined the Fitness Center on Tuesday, I've managed to exercise every day.…

I joined the Fitness Club today!!! In addition to exercise equipment, it has a pool with a current (called a TURTTLE pool). The pool has an exterior oval track with a current for water walking and swimming and an interior pool with warmer water for exercise. There are only ten of them in the United States, so I am lucky.…

Well, CRUD! I didn't have time today to go join the fitness club. I had a meeting after school that lasted until 5-ish then had to get my puppy to the vet for vaccinations. I did take both dogs on a walk. Tomorrow is a new day, and I WILL make it to the gym tomorrow! @Robin ~ Our puppy's name is Luna. We have an 11 year…

I haven't posted in awhile. Sometimes I wonder if I have time to keep up with this forum, but I DO love it! I am stuck at 22 pounds lost. I know it has much to do with exercise. During the summer, I was an exercise fiend (biking and walking), and weight was dropping nicely. Now that I am back at school (teaching), I…

Saturday success: No loss/no gain this week! Pretty good considering I had fast food a few times this week, indulged in stress snacking, and lax on exercise. Back at it this week!
-
@naceto ~ I understand exactly how you feel about taking care of your high school aged son when he is sick. My daughter is 22, and I have been taking care of her this week during her illness. It's always nice to have your mama around no matter how old you are! Friday fitness: I need to get my rear in gear! This week…

Well, my name is Cathy, but my brothers and husband often call me "Cath." Esh is the first three letters of my last name.

Wednesday wish: That my daughter (22 years old) could get rid of this infection with cryptosporidium. It is nasty, nasty stuff. She was in the hospital Sunday night and all day Monday. Yesterday did pretty well. I had to come home today to be with her, because her stomach cramps are unbearable. The doc ordered a med to…

Tuesday goals: Been a little off with my daughter in the hospital. She is home now and getting over the little critters. Need to get back with it. I will.

Monday check-in: I lost a couple more pounds this week and am glad to have made it to the 20 pound mark! I missed Sunday share: It's been a busy weekend. Saturday: gorgeous weather + bike ride + UNK football game + mother/daughter pedis = pure happiness! My daughter, however, was sick all weekend (not sure how we managed…

I've been with MFP for two months. Things are going well. I've definitely changed my eating and exercise habits for the better! My husband wanted to order pizza, and I was able to work 2 pieces of pepperoni pizza into my day. I can't say I really enjoyed them. Instead, I was craving a salad with fresh tomatoes, feta…

Haven't had time for this thread but don't want to lose it! You all are so motivating! I've been busy with school and grad class. Friday fitness: Just keep on keepin' on (walking and biking)!

@BohemianCoast ~ I will take your advice and freeze the banana bread in individual slices! I managed to stay out of it today! I think I got my "mojo" back since I've been able to stay away from the tempting treats! Wednesday wish: I wish this cold and cough would go away and that I could find time to work on my grad class…
-
Tuesday goal: I've been a little off the past two days. I need to get the motivation back! I can't seem to stay out of the banana bread I made, so I need to get it out of the house. Had three slices Sunday. Two slices yesterday and today. No more! I have not been doing terrible, just so-so. I can do better than this! So my…

@jtconst ~ Congrats on the 5 pound weight loss! Yippee! Well, I had a fun, but busy, weekend! Managed to get in 2 bike rides! Love it! The good new is, I managed to stay under my calorie goal all week (except yesterday) and have done better about drinking the water. The bad news is, I made banana bread yesterday (cuz I had…

@bellawares ~ what a stressful life you lead! Hang in there! @nicholsvj ~ NOW I get why water is so strongly encouraged! Thanks for the explanation! @naceto ~ your story is heartbreaking, yet inspiring! Good for you for turning it around for your son! @monarchris ~ I, too, am enjoying foods I never used to eat. I find that…

@linder ~ Taking care of a parent is VERY stressful. I took care of my mother in our home for 5 years then she moved to assisted living for one year then had to go to a nursing home her final two years. I used to visit her in the nursing home every other day. She had a stroke and couldn't communicate well, but she could…

@scottr35 ~ I read your profile, and you crack me up! Saturday success: Well, I managed to exercise every day (walking) and stayed under my calorie goal. Oh, and I also drank more water this week! \o/ This was my first full week back to school with students, and I was a little anxious about how I would manage my…
