  • Well, I asked one of my best friends and she said, "Hmmmmmm, She's very intelligent, very smart and intellectual. Her persona is one of kindness, she has a tender heart and reaches out to those in need. She's fun to be around because she's a people person. Loves to laugh and enjoys the company of others around her. Family…
  • DEFINITELY this! This advice has made all the difference in the world to me. I no longer deprive myself with diets. Instead I have made positive changes in how and what I eat as well as doing my best to exercise everyday. I'm finally losing weight, eating healthy and not depriving myself of the "bad" food I may want every…
  • I have been morbidly obese for many years and have gone up and done in weight for a long time. I have just started to lose weight and settle into a healthy lifestyle. Why? Because I finally started doing all the things I knew I should be doing and stopped doing so much of the bad things I always knew I shouldn't be doing.…
  • We're all in the same boat! It's SO easy to gain the weight but taking it off is a battle! The people on MFP have truly motivated me and the support they give me encourages me to keep going. We could all use that kind of support to help us on this journey. Feel free to add me if you want and I'll give you all the suppot I…
  • Hi! I'm Lainey! I will be 44 this year and the encouragement I get from this site has made a big difference in my weight loss. Seeing other people's progress and hard work makes me want to work hard too! So, feel free to add me and I will give you the same support everyone has given to me. Welcome and good luck!
  • Actually, I bought a KettleWorx at home DVD set and a kettlebell to do the workouts. The person who created these workouts actually gives you an introduction video and explains proper form in detail. He demonstrates the different moves and what you body (butt, back, legs, etc) should be doing and how they should be…
  • My biological grandmother and father abused me and my biological mom didn't want to acknowledge me as being her daughter. Therefore, the woman I call my mom has been the only - and best - mother I could have ever asked for. She knows all my little secrets. But, she still loves me unconditionally. Although she came into my…
  • When I have on an outfit that I LOVE! I feel like the sexiest woman in the world and it shows in my attitude and confidence! :-)
  • I completely understand the point and feel that no one - women or men - should apply strong scents before going to work out. That being said, some people put on perfume/cologne in the morning when going to work and then go to workout right after work. That makes it kind of hard to go to the gym and not have it on. Also,…
  • That is awesome! You are an inspiration and should be so very proud of yourself and your accomplishment!
  • That is actually great advice. It also depends on how much you work out and how many calories you burn. Sometimes I may burn over 1000 calories in a workout. I really don't want to eat that many extra calories in a day so you may want to get in a workout that burns a decent amount of calories so if you do decide to eat…
  • LMBO! Well, maybe this will be a positive change once you learn to "manage" him. Men are easier to figure out (at work) than women are. Take some time to learn what he likes or doesn't like in his employees. You can manage him by making sure you do what he likes (meaning what he expects his employees to do) and avoid the…
  • Ditto again! This helps me notice the fluctuations from day to day. Then I can check my food diary and look for things like high sodium intake, really fatty or high carb foods. It just helps me to adjust my outlook on what I'm doing and eating. I don't panic if the scale is up but I do like to check daily.
  • Hi There! Like SheilahArnett said, I KNOW I would not have made it this far either without MFP. The support here motivates me to keep going. The results from other people encourage me to work hard and never give up. The encouraging words from friends make me feel better when the inevitable happens and I have a bad day.…
  • A better question is, How on earth did you GET the rash? :noway:
  • The best thing you can do now is - just like everyone said - get right back on track. Drink plenty of water, get a lot of exercise in and make good choices starting right now. Also, do NOT kick yourself for what you ate. What's done is done. Guilt will only make you feel worse and probably lead you to continue eating bad.…
  • On one episode of Biggest Loser Bob addressed this very subject. He said if you want a good workout but don't have a gym membership or any equipment do the following: 25 jumping jacks 25 push ups 25 lunges (alternating legs) Repeat this set of three exercises ten times (or as many as you can until you can build up to ten…
  • There are a few Atkins bars that taste good to me. I like their Chocolate Caramel Nut Roll and their Cashew Trail Mix Bar. Yum!
  • That is awesome! Keep up the good work! And buy some new pants!

  • I want to join too! Please send me an invite!
  • EXACTLY what she said! I get enough ungratefulness from my children. I do NOT need another mouth to feed and body to take care of that feels it's superior to me. :grumble:
  • Sounds good! I don't like to bake but I just may try it. It seems simple enough.
  • Once again, the problem here is that people who break commandments, as this person is putting it, don't answer to you or me. They answer to God. Why do we take it upon ourselves to judge them when, as Christians, we believe that is God's job? People lie all the time, they dishonor their parents, take God's name in vain and…
  • Bob, this was a great post. I have never understood why people can't agree to disagree and just learn to love PEOPLE regardless of their choices! A "lifestyle" is a person's private and personal choice. I do not believe in some things but I do believe everyone has a right to choose how they live and they should not be…
  • Now THIS man is what a HUSBAND should be!!!!!!!
  • I agree that our desire should be to make our spouse happy but they also should have a desire to make us happy. It's not just about pleasing your spouse at the expense of your own happiness. He should also love you enough to still love you whether you are fat, skinny, tall, short, etc. No person should HAVE to compromise…
  • Maybe you should try being positive about this situation instead of feeling bad about it. Instead of feeling bad because you weigh ten pounds more than her (which isn't a big amount, by the way) tell yourself (and her, if necessary) that you probably weigh ten pounds more because you work out a lot and you have more muscle…
  • Good Morning! Like someone else said I can't tell you how many times I have started, stopped, started, etc. The support I have received from MFP really makes me want to stay committed! When I started I had way over 100 pounds to lose so I still have a long way to go. But, WE CAN DO IT! Fell free to add me as a friend if…
  • My husband and I are taking an eleven day cruise in June to the Greek Isles, Venice, Naples and Turkey. I'm EXTREMELY worried because in the past I always gain on vacation. My plan is to get a good workout in early in the day EVERYDAY and use real moderation 2 out of my 3 meals a day and portion control on the 3rd meal. I…
