I was driving my son to school in the rain one day and he said the windshield wipers looked like they were taking turns bowing to each other. That was over 20 years ago but I still think of that whenever I'm driving in the rain.

I'm so lucky that I live in a place where we have access to an abundance of fresh fruits and veggies year round. And, I live in the country so there are always farmers markets and I can go down the street and pick my own apples and berries or buy raw milk. Plus, I garden. It makes me sad to see that people live in food…

I had a lisp and slight stutter too. I had years of speech therapy and sometimes if I'm tired or stressed out I still do it. :blushing:

^This. You need to nourish your body. Fast food should be rare, not common. Find some healthier alternatives. Maybe a lean roast beef sandwich on whole grain bread instead of burgers on tortillas. Add some veggies. Make small changes, they can make a big difference. And, don't give up! You are worth it.

I'm eating between 1200-1600 calories a day. I'm not sure what you mean by netting under 1000. I guess I should have been clearer in that I am trying to limit processed carbs. I'm getting my carbs from fruits and veggies but really limiting bread, pasta, granola bars etc.

I don't log some of the things I use when cooking like onions or garlic. I don't log celery. Any wine that I drink while cooking dinner is calorie free, so I don't log that either. I also don't log every little bit of exercise I do.

I have elevated cholesterol, so I'm trying not to eat a lot of fat. I do have raw almonds and occasional peanut butter. I don't know, I'm just going to try to stay conscious about what I put in my mouth but I can't go lower carb than I have. I need my fruit.

I am trying to lose weight and someone suggested trying to reduce my carbs. But, I love my fruit. I also do regular cardio and am a newbie at weight training (doing Jaime Eason's 12 week LiveFit program)

Thanks for all the great responses! I've been stricter with myself because I took a little break and ate with abandon and gained 10 lbs. I have a LOT of weight to lose. But, I want to lose it in a healthy way by eating healthy and moving my body. I really appreciate the advice.

I don't eat a lot of processed food. I think I am eating healthier carbs (fruit and veggies). I don't even know if it's carb related, or just a bug. I didn't think I was 'low carb' enough to make me feel queasy.

I think of veggies as fast food. What is faster than just washing and eating delicious, crunchy raw veggies? I just finally organized my fridge (picture is my profile picture). Yay! Way to go. I think it is a great accomplishment. Losing 20 means that you have made changes and been consistent enough to lose a significant amount of weight. 20 lbs is what a car tire weighs. So beautiful! And, I LOVE Jaime Easons 12 week LiveFit plan! I am so NOT a weight lifter. I always loved cardio. I don't think it's bad. But, it can get boring after a while. I have been looking at other people's food logs to see what they are eating so I can mix it up a little. Variety is the spice of life. :wink:
