It's definitely hiking lol. I was just trying to be clear about the terrain  . I set my profile to sedentary because usually I am. This class is out of the norm for me. I only have it once a week sadly, so it's easier to add to a day than all of them. If I get a job doing this I'll definitely need to adjust the…

Hi there! I'm a senior in college right now studying Geology. I need to take an extra year though so more school next year for me lol. Feel free to add me if you want

I use the same site for when I run outside. It's great since my phone doesn't have working GPS so it can't track my distance/calories burned. I'm always nervous about using it, and what the treadmill says, but I'm losing weight so I figure that even if it's wrong, it can't be that far off since it's not slowing down my…

Yeah, the interwebs is an...interesting place lol. Thanks and good luck to you too!

I appreciate the fact that you came back and answered. To be honest, I have no clue how I've lost so much in so little time. My profile is set to 1 lb. a week, and I actually just increased my daily calories from 1,350 (MFP's number) to 1,500. I usually don't go under my weekly limits by huge amounts either. I figured it…

Hm. My only idea would be to switch up your snacks and find things that are super filling but not going to put your calories through the roof. I don't know what that would consist of, but I'm sure there are people here who do. I hope you find something that works for you though!

Ok, that's what I thought you meant but I've just never heard it put that way before. (Un)fortunately I don't think that's the issue right now. I'm thinking I'll try drinking more water though because I don't think I've gotten enough recently, which might be the problem. I go through cycles of forgetting to drink it. It's…

Wait. Don't leave just yet. I have an actual question. But first, I know support isn't rainbows and butterflies all the time. I wasn't looking for that though. I was just looking to talk to people who have gone through similar experiences. The idea of support I was talking about was sharing experiences. Maybe I should…

Agreed! Snacks are the best. I usually have a snack between breakfast and lunch, lunch and dinner, and after dinner. It helps me from overeating at meal times and also curbs hunger long enough for me to eat my meals at reasonable times. I find that carrots are great for snacks, as well as most other vegetables probably.…

I found that by replacing my junk food with healthier home made versions I can still have the things I love but not ruin my diet because of it. Pizza and tacos were my two biggest downfalls, but now I make ground turkey taco salads and whole wheat, low fat pizzas. I found it helps me to not go buy Taco Bell or a large…

When was 2 lbs. per week mentioned? Did I miss that? I agree that that's not sustainable for most people. Food is too yummy (and important) to cut back that much lol. Also I don't really think anyone has mentioned unrealistic expectations (unless I did actually miss something about 2 lbs. per week). I don't think the OP is…

I think you missed the point of my post. I was just expressing frustration with learning to deal with body fluctuations and the mental changes that are a part of this process. I don't expect to lose tons of weight in a short time, and I know that a large part of what I've already lost is the usual big beginner drop that…

Well it's good to see you're rude to everyone, not just me. Nothing in her post made it sound like she was looking for pity. We should be supporting her and her decision to ask for advice instead of giving up when things get tough. Stop belittling people for having questions or concerns when they see strange things…

Ok...I wasn't complaining so much as just expressing my frustration with not knowing what's going on with my body and trying to not blame myself for weird changes in my weight. I came here looking to talk with others who have also had those small set backs so we could support each other. I didn't come here for someone to…

If you're already able to run 3 miles, then I'd say you're on the right track! I'm not a trainer or anything, but what personally worked for me to increase speed was by running small intervals at a faster pace and doing the rest at my regular pace. Over time my body has gotten accustomed to the faster pace so I can do it…

Being a poor college student, I won't be able to do much, but I would like to get myself a nice new outfit for when I hit my goal weight. Something that will show off what I worked so hard for and makes me feel good about myself. I usually dress like a tomboy so it's a bit of a bigger goal reward for me than for most women…

Today I'm proud of myself for two reasons. First, I went out for a run even though it's really cold and gloomy outside. I originally decided not to go because I had no energy due to an early day at work and I wasn't feeling my best. But I knew I would only feel worse if I didn't go, so I forced myself to get out there and…

Thanks for posting this! You look awesome! This really gives me hope because I currently look similar to your before photo, and I'm hoping to look like the after. Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm glad you try. It can help a lot if the person is ready. I guess it just hurt a lot to see so many people being so cruel about it all. I understand you're all venting, and I get frustrated with myself so I get it lol. It's just hard being on the other side. But I agree that the picky eaters who are just being stubborn…

I had typed out a long and thoughtful reply to this, but I realize it'll only bring more hostility against picky eaters, so I've deleted it. I will say one thing though. I recommend trying to help the picky eater, not judge them. Judgement only makes it worse, but if you try to help them find new foods, it'll usually work.
