I am doing this work out - BUT at a gym. The instructor there got certified to teach the program. I think we are doing phase one. I feel myself getting stronger each class. Enjoy- its a challenge but isn't that what makes this fun ? You can do it. I am 43....

I swim twice a week- sometimes three. Lately- I have NOT been eating beforehand. I do though- have a coffee. I bring water to the pool deck and after sets- I swim a 500 to warm up, I will swig some water. Its been working for me. I typically swim 1000-2000 yards a session.

PERFECT. That is how you sprinkle in the jogging. Just keep gradually adding those minutes of jogging in with the walking on the treadmill. OR outside if you can. We do need to know where you are cardio wise now. Its way early to start now for this April race. I would suggest you start first walking. I am in the same boat. ALWAYS over on the sodium. Gotta read the labels - all frozen dinners, soups, cold cuts- highest amounts. Trying to avoid them- but I love soup!

This is a big debate. I think the faster you are the better the breathing is -that VO Max stuff. Which I so do not bother understanding. Bottom line- you are moving. All of the paces help in overall results. (Better running)

What is not to love about Trader Joes? I love it. Their jalapeno hummus- to die for. Also their Vanilla Low Fat Granola Cereal, Orange Chicken, BBQ chicken... MMM! Tons of great healthy frozen dinners, chicken lime burgers- MMM! Their salsas.... Really try it- going there is an adventure!
