Fellow New Englander here too! Totally clicked on this because of the title. Great job man!

Excellent job! I'm about 2 pounds from the overweight category and I can't wait. You're doing great!

I'm having a similar issue. I'm almost at 20 pounds lost, but my measurements are barely moving. I guess I'm losing pretty evenly, but it's weird because most people on here emphasize the measurements and how they look in the mirror more than the #s. I haven't noticed a significant change in those areas though.

Great job! You inspired me for sure!

Great job! I've started at 195 and am now at 177 too! It's great seeing someone on pretty much the same track as me. How tall are you?

I wake up at 5 and get into the gym by 5:30. It took some getting used to but now I actually like it. I can't do it every day though. I try to go 3 times at 5:30 during the week, and then I go later (9-10 am) on the weekends. On my off days I'm usually playing some sort of sport in the afternoon or evening. My hardest…

I don't eat a lot of meat and I've found it super hard to get enough even if I really concentrate on trying to eat high protein foods. I use protein shakes on days that I work out.

It just started happening to me over the past couple of weeks, probably when I hit around 10 pounds. Suddenly, many people were asking me if I had lost weight. I personally didn't see any change but they did. It probably depends on where you're losing it from. If you lose a lot from your face at first, it's easier to tell,…

I was at 184 last week. This week I was at 181.6! It was surprising.
-
I do this as well. I can really tell that this helped when I added it.
-
Cool! I started pretty much at the same time as you and it looks like we've lost the same amount. I haven't seen any significant difference in my measurements though. But I'm going to keep on working at it.

I stress about gym germs too, but it's not gonna keep me from going. I haven't been able to come remotely close to the progress I've made since joining. I try my best to practice good gym hygiene. I make sure to wash my hands before and after, wash my gym clothes after each use and shower immediately after I get home. Even…

Whoa! You look great! Did you do that all since April? I see that's your join date.

Week 1 Weight: 189.8 Week 4 Weight: 184 Goal for Week 5: 183 I'm very glad I made it to my goal for this week. I'm taking it easy with the goals for the next few weeks. Going for one pound instead of two in order to avoid stressing out too much. Work and life will do that enough for me.
-
OMG this helped me so much today. Thanks!

Week 1 Weight: 189.8 Week 2 Weight: 188 Week 3 Weight: 185 Goal for Week 3: 184 My goal for the end of September was to be below 185, so as long as I make that, I'm happy.

Love all the Patriots fans in this thread!

I'm in the same boat as you, except not with food but with beer. I was doing fine for a month without it. But now during football season, I let myself have some. I didn't go crazy, but now all I've been doing is regretting it and thinking that it wasn't worth it. The silver lining I can find is that now I know that I…

I'll add you! I log everything everyday.

It's been about a month since I've been consistently tracking. I haven't noticed any significant results in the mirror yet. The scale is going down and my clothes are looser, but my face/body seems the same to me. But...yesterday was the first day other people started seeing my results. Multiple people came up to me at…

Yesterday was the first day anyone commented on my weight loss. And it wasn't just one person. It was 5 different people at different points throughout the day. It was like all of the sudden it was apparent that I'd been working out. Part of me felt good but the other part felt kind of weird. I've never experienced…

I pretty much did the elliptical almost everyday, and some weight training 3 days a week. This past week, I really focused on doing HIIT on the elliptical on the days I wasn't weight training. I feel like that really helped me. Last week, I was bummed that I had only lost a pound. This week, I lost 3! Therefore, I really…

30 sober challenge. That's what I'm doing right now. I'm totally thinking "why?" after reading this thread. I'm going to finish it since I'm over halfway done, but afterwards I'm definitely going to focus on moderation.

Great job meeting your goals everyone! I thought I wasn't going to make it, but I weighed myself this morning and I'm under my week 1 goal. I know it's a day late but I'm still going to count it!

I've been alcohol free for almost 3 weeks now. I'm losing weight and I'm not hungry, which is great. But I know there is no way I'll be able to remain alcohol free forever. I'm just doing it to kick off my new fitness lifestyle. I will slowly add a little back in. While there is no way I will be drinking like I was, I see…

I've experienced something similar. I was working out all week and was actually under my calorie goal many days this week and the scale did not go down at all. Don't get discouraged. You are not alone. I am actually going to try to eat more next week, but definitely eat differently.
-
Thanks. Reading this is really motivational for me. Even though I started off 14lbs heavier than you, I'm looking to do something similar over the next couple of months. I'm gonna add you. How did you do the no alcohol for 10 weeks? I'm only on week 2 of no drinking and I'm thinking it's going to be impossible to make it…

I agree with the above. This website overestimates the calories burned. I go by other websites info that sounds more reasonable or the machines at the gym that tell you how many calories after you enter your info.

Personal Goal: I would like to get to the low 180s by the end of September. Exercise Goal: Continue going to the gym 6 days a week. Nutrition Goal: No alcohol for the first half of the month, and then only 2-3 drinks one day per week.
