  • Personally, when I am sick or when my period is tooo heavy, I don't exercise. I make sure I keep eating clean, and when I am not heavy, or when the cramps are not too bad, I get back into exercising.
  • Wow, that must be such a great feeling. I look forward to feeling as good as you when I say good-bye to the 200's in the same fashion! You are doing great! Keep it up.
  • Thank you! I will check in on Wed. I wanna see if I can loose some more weight by then ahahaha
  • I was thinking the same thing. I am avoiding buying new clothing all together if I can help it. I was thinking of buying pants that have draw strings in them so I can pull the string as I get smaller.
  • I have definitely got that before where some would think I was lighter than I actually was. I found that a lot of people who do not guess right seem to have no concept of how to judge a person's weight. As well as, people no matter their height, have different factors to consider when thinking about one's weight. There's…
  • Sorry if this is a silly question, how often do we check back in on this thread? Shall we do it every Wed, since that is the day the thread was made?
  • I think as long as you space out your meals throughout the day properly, it should not matter when you eat breakfast. Personally, I wake up at 6am but do not eat until I get to work at 8:30am, and I am still loosing weight. I have always been told that if you do not work out after you wake up, to eat breakfast within 2 - 3…
  • I just started my weight-loss journey on Sept 2, and all I have been doing is eating right, and using my treadmill for 30 mins of cardio everyday. Since then, I have lost 28 pounds. This is coming from someone that has not been active or has never been taught the proper way to eat, so yes, a beginner can do it. In fact, I…
  • You can make it for sure!! You will break 200 by Sunday and say good-bye to the 200s forever. :)
  • Nice to meet you all. I am from Toronto. I started my journey on Sept 2 and lost 28 pounds to date. I have been out of cardio for two weeks because of a back injury but am coming back. I really hope to loose another 10 pounds before the end of the year. Let's keep each other motivated! (So I guess we should keep track from…
  • Wow!!! I'm glad that you are already friends with me! You look great and hope to look as good when I get smaller too!! Great job!!
  • Snacking is not a bad thing, you just have to do it smart. I find that having my meals and snacks at the same time helps with the cravings. Also, making sure to eat protein with every meal will help keep you full and from having snack cravings. You can also try eating mini meals being at about 300 cals throughout the day.…
  • "You won't believe it's not lasagna" No? Hahahaha. Maybe pick a school theme? Or something in Pop culture? Sorry I am terrible at these things, I'm just trying to inspire. But it sounds delicious!
  • Personally, I weight myself with just my under garments and I always do it in the mornings around the same time. I also make sure to do it after using the washroom for it to be a more accurate number on the scale.
  • I agree. Stick to foods that are fresh and not packaged or processed, if you can help it. Drink plenty of water and work out, that is the best way to clear your body of access sodium. And a best rule of thumb you can do is to make sure that the sodium content per serving is no more than 175 - 200 mg. And not to go over the…
  • Thank you very much for sharing this with us. There are some great tips in this article. Especially for me when I was thinking about switching from Long Duration to HIIT.
  • I totally hear you on eating better and staying on a budget. I have found it a little difficult sometimes because I used to buy groceries for 2 people on 150 every other week. But I find that now I spend about 200. I buy a lot of produce and proteins. I shop at least 2 times a week to make sure I use all of my fresh…
  • If you don't mind me being so forward, but your husband does not seem very supportive. I would not call you being obsessed. Working out 3 - 5 times a week, that is not obsessed. Keeping a diet journal (in this case, MFP) of course, has been proven to help those wishing to loose or maintain weight faster then those people…
  • It sounds like the one thing that is different for you, is the support system! You have all of us here to help motivate and encourage. And trust me, when I say, I was never active for my whole life. That has changed recently. I really hope to encourage others to go out and do it because I never realized how easy it can be…
  • Hey everyone from the GTA!!! I was born and raised in T.O, still here actually. Anyone is more than welcomed to add me, but I do prefer friends that are woman, because we all know how much harder it is for us woman to loose. We can support each other!!!
  • It depends on how you feel. If you are sick and you feel like not working out, then don't. You shouldn't have to "force yourself" if you're not feeling it. This is more for the fact that you would be making working out a "chore" rather then a goal or objective for the day. When I am not in the mood, (too sick, too tired,…
  • To lose another 4 pounds before the end of the month.
  • Granola bars usually have high sugar content. True they are usually a healthy snack, but there are better alternatives. So check how much sugar is in your granola bars. Also, dairy, starches, carbs, any vegetables grown in the ground, all break down into sugars in your body. Which is why a lot of diabetic people cannot eat…
  • I used to be a total addict, but just looking at the cal and sugar per serving was enough for me to say "no way." I would rather eat something more filling then eating a piece of bread with chocolate on it. (Maybe when I reach my goal weight but not now, that is for sure.) I just hate how they market it towards parents to…
  • Depending on what you usually do, I bet you can find a ton of healthier recipes for all of your holiday favorites. Even just substituting ingredients for ones that are low in fat and low in sodium can help. It's all about making simple switches. For me personally, even when the holidays come it's still time to eat healthy.…
  • Good for you and the compliment from the guy in the club! I'm glad that he was confident to give you such a compliment. Your friend sounds like someone that I work with. She used to complain about how "fat" she was when she is a healthy weight and size for her body type. I would give anything to look like her. Whenever she…
  • I wouldn't call it an "addiction" but I weight myself once every day in the mornings. I do this to keep track of my progress but to also remind myself to push myself on my exercising if I don't see a drop in a few days. That way I really get motivated to get my bottom off the couch and do my cardio. I feel terrible that I…
  • You have plenty of time to get yourself back down to where you were comfortable in your skin! In 3 months, with hard work and dedication, you can easily loose 5 pounds a month. Keep your chin up! We are rooting for you!
  • That was what I was thinking too! Great minds think a like! I like to set mini goals of loosing a certain amount of weight in a two week period. The time flies by so much that I just gotta keep going!
  • Hey 21 pounds is great! Your body will follow once this adjustment period has ended. Sounds like your doctor could be nicer to you about your progress, but that is what we are here for! We can be your support! Watching your salt in-take is a good way to reduce blood pressure. Most healthy adults need only between 1,500 and…
