  • I don't think you will even notice the taste of the egg white mixed with yogurt etc. I think you will be fine. I used to use a protein powder that was made up of egg whites, and it tasted like chocolate, so you should be good. :)
  • My doctor recommends to eat a max of one egg yolk, but I can have as many egg whites as I want. They are high in protein, and low in sodium. The protein keeps me full. In fact I have egg whites as a snack between meals because it's the only thing I feel I can eat that will keep me full and not do any damage to me on the…
  • I have always been told that you cannot spot target weight-loss. For example, I am the opposite, I have lost a lot of weight in my arms, face and thighs, but I feel like my stomach has no gotten smaller. You can do strength training/weight lifting that focus on those areas where you would like to get smaller, but doing…
  • I have never taken any classes however, I have been to numerous gyms, and I have always been the heavier girl in the room. I do feel embarrassed about being out of shape, but I have to keep reminding myself that it takes time to get to the level most are in. For me, I have had a weight issue all my life, and some of those…
  • Best thing you can do, is to add friends that have the same weight-loss goals as you/have the same interests because that will also help motivate and support you! Welcome!
  • I always compared myself to my BF's ex-girlfriends but they are exes for a reason. I realized that was a way to project my inner insecurities with my looks. Motivation is always important, but would you be still feeling this way even if she was skinner then you? Just my two-cents, not knocking on anyone's thoughts or…
  • To be honest, I do not know much about the whole "exercise calorie" and how it works. But simply put, diet is nothing without exercise and exercise is nothing without diet. They go hand in hand. To loose a pound of fat, you have to create a deficit of 3500 calories with a combination of exercise and diet.
  • That is really great. I am so happy for you. I, myself am borderline Type 2 Diabetic, and seeing how well you are doing gives everyone hope. It's amazing what exercise and eating right can do!
  • My boyfriend makes the most amazing omelets and they look so pretty. What he does is, he gets the omelet filling ready (veggies etc) and he gets the pan nice and hot. He then puts the egg into the pan, when it starts to bubble he adds the filling into the centre of the pan. Then he folds one side towards the centre, then…
  • I can happily say that I have lost 35 pounds by cleaning up my diet and walking on my treadmill. So, yes, you can loose weight by walking.
  • I'm sorry that you are not receiving the right support at home. Perhaps you should have a heart-to-heart talk and let him know how it makes you feel when he does things like that. When he tries to offer you foods that you are not interested in eating, perhaps tell him in a polite way that eating it will really push your…
  • It's also a great place for support, and motivation. Welcome, and I know you will do well as I had a wake up call being diagnosed with a syndrome directly associated with obesity. So I understand somewhat you are feeling. Hang in there.
  • Congrats!!! I say go on a shopping spree! Hahahaa. I'm proud of you, because that is quite the accomplishment. I look forward to breaking the 200's too. So I can say good bye to them forever!
  • This is a great post and I thought you made your arguments thoughtfully. I agree with you 100%.
  • Depending on how old your kids are, maybe you can teach them how to make their own breakfast and lunches? I did that at an early age. Take the stairs at work if you can. You can also look up exercises you can do in an armless chair while you are at work. Look on youtube and search for "Chair exercises." I felt the same…
  • Good work! I'm sure you are feeling so good. I know when I got to 10% lost, I could feel a change in my energy level and attitude.
  • Of course you can have ice cream and not feel guilty. Go to your local grocer to find "Skinny Cow" products. They have ice cream sandwiches that are only 130 cals! You can even get lactose-free ice cream, which will reduce the amount of sugar that would normally be high in regular ice cream.
  • I work in an office and make my breakfast when I get in. I ate Quaker's Weight Control Oatmeal. It's fast, and easy, and still healthy for you. I eat it at 8:30am/9am and do not need anything until 12 o'clock noon which is my lunch hour.
  • I would be the same way if I had only 10 more to loose. Keep pushing yourself, don't give up, you can do it!
  • By the way, my one confession is I ate a ponzerotto for dinner a week ago and did not put it in, even though I was still under on cals, but I was over my sodium.
  • I had to do a double-take on what you said, because I didn't think Smarties were available in the U.S. And I think it's cool you live in Little Canada, I just read up ab out it. (I'm from Toronto, Canada)
  • I didn't really notice anything at first, but now I see that my face and thighs are smaller.
  • Sex! Hahaha. Because I love how it makes me feel so sexy.
  • Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. I have been eying one for some time. I will definitely get it now!
  • I cut out all the sugars, fat and high sodium. Eat lots of proteins. Drink lots of water and walk on my treadmill. So far it seems to be doing the trick.
  • That sounds great. Sounds like you are also gaining some muscle, since you are not loosing on the scale. But that will happen for you soon. Just keep it up and don't feel discouraged. Loosing inches is great!
  • Proteins, and food with high fiber content help me stay full. I eat oatmeal, or pure egg whites.
  • Just make sure that you get things steamed, otherwise it will be full of loaded sodium. Let alone anything else they add in it. (Hopefully there is no MSG in any of it.)
  • Sadly, my weight has not changed since Oct 29th (the last time I posted) I will check in again in a week. I have about 8 more pounds to go before the end of the month.
  • It makes a lot of sense to me. Since the stomach has more fat to loose, it will take longer for it to be smaller, because when you loose weight, you burn fat from everywhere at the same time. (Hence you can't just spot tone.) Now that you are smaller in a lot of places like legs, arms, neck, face etc..... your mid-section…
