  • Hey, thanks, that looks great!! I am cutting a little more aggressively right now, adding quite some cardio, but eventually in a few weeks I want to focus on lifting again and eat at least on maintenance. PHUL program sounds perfect for that!
  • about one year. I actually started with stronglifts but felt it was so "bare" with only three exercises. I like some diversity, which made strong curves perfect in my eyes. Yes, the more I read about how to design a program, the more I get intimidated by it! I'd like to get a good-to-go thing.
  • 1. I's be happy to go for you if you watch my kids during that time? (My gym time is 5.30-6.30am) 2. I've been a member at three gyms so far. Never ever have I gone to any of them with someone.
  • For a few months, I had been losing and regaining the first 2 lbs of the last 10lbs. A few days ago, for the first time ever, I committed entirely to do it. Before, there had been this weird thought of not deserving it that had blocked me. I am actually afraid of looking too good. I was a chubby teen. Witty but I felt…
  • Thanks. Got an insole today, hope it helps!
  • CW: 128 GW: 120 Age: 35 height 5'4" I lift heavy and swim/run for cardio.
  • Same here. I try not to get involved emotionally. I focus on myself. Although it is frustrating when I make a healthy lunch around 500 cals, and he eats 1.5 bagels with it. Effect undone. The only thing it does for me is that I get a little less generous on "my" vegetarian protein sources. They are expensive if you buy…
  • Hi for me it is still like that. And exercising makes me even hungrier. There are a few dishes that make me feel stuffed for around 400 cal, like high fat, high protein pancakes* but not many, unfortunately. Just ate a bowl of greek yogurt after my main meal of the day (lunch) because I did not feel full. Sigh. I try to…
  • Hm, I am just plain jealous when I see lean people ;) Seriously, they are the same, they simply started earlier!!! I am pretty much at goal, humbled by those last 5-8 pounds though. So I might look successful from the outside, on the INside I am constantly failing! Feel like a beginner, wondering if I'll ever master…
  • Hey, don't let other people bother you :) I am still nursing my fifth child (she is 22 months, but she typically sleeps through the night and only nurses in the evening), and exercising happens very early in the morning before everyone wakes up. I cannot take naps during her 30 min nap time because my other four kids are…
  • I do not have pics but I did level 1 and 2 and had great results. Not on the scale but in the mirror! Afterwards, I switched to a lifting routine which has served me even more. 30DS, definitely worth it! Commit to those few weeks, just do it without questioning every single workout. Tell yourself that you can stop after…
  • I feel exactly the same!!!! I go back and forth because sometimes lifting makes me so hungry ("shouldn't I fuel my workouts?!)... ANd sometimes I just hate my saddlebags next to my quads and want to restrict to 1500. Of course, the flip flopping has not gotten me anywhere! Right now I am trying 1600 (tdee method, i.e. not…
  • workout time is the best time of my day! No kids fighting, no laundry, no work, no meetings. Just me and the satisfying feeling of being able to do what I want plus something that's good for me. I rarely have difficulties getting out of bed. Workouts are not a chore, they are a cherished luxury I grant myself!…
  • SAHM here too. I pre-log so I do not snack. And I tell myself for every snack I make for them that this is not for me but for them for they are growing! Also, I drink a lot of tea of different flavors.
  • Thank you. That helped me. My trigger for binges is when one of my children is sick. You're up all kind, then stuck inside (no exercise, and very lonely) entertaining cranky kids. I resort to eating in those moments. Maybe it will help me to BE AWARE that it is the lack of sleep that makes me crave sugar. Also, I binged…
  • The local college sells lowfat greek yogurt everywhere. Cottage cheese. Tofu. Quest bars. Hardboiled eggs.
  • I am doing "Strong curves" and love it! Love doing it, LOVE the results!
  • I get up at 5.30, have coffee and work out (I lift, mainly). To me, there is no better way to start the day. I feel alert, on track, strong and awesome. When I am tired in bed, I just picture myself after the workout and how I would feel if I did not go - reason enough to go!! Two things: - you have to go to bed earlier…
  • I always eat more in public just to show everyone that I can eat cheesecake and still look slim. It's because I am very controlled 90% of the time. But I, too, love to shovel it in just to rub it in. Why do I do that? To make it look easy? But why?
  • I would not recommend taking a break to someone who might slip into breakibg the habit... You don't sound like you would though and I am sure your body needs a break!! After 5 days you might be looking forward to workout again!

  • So glad to hear it's not only me! I feel so stupid right now! I tried bulking for three weeks. My lifts got better but my pants got tighter and I could not take it. So I went to a deficit again. I guess I could do some lean gains style calorie cycling... Maybe maintenance on lifting days and slight deficit on rest days? I…
  • I don't know. That's probably why I run into this all the time!
  • Don't know my real maintenance calories. I lift 4x/week so even if I knew my calories I would not know my exercise calories anyway. I guess maintenace is higher but I want to be conservative.
  • My housing project has a little gym, so it is walking distance and open 24/7. I have all my kids (five between 1 and 11) with me all day so there is no chance during the day. I work out 3x a week at 5.30am for an hour while my husband guards mostly sleeping kids. Sometimes I will get some cardio in at night. The trickiest…
  • I drop 2 lbs when I don't exercise for a few days. So yes, muscles retain water! Could easily hide a 2-3lbs loss of FAT loss.
  • I like not having to think about what might or might not look flattering. No one will call me overweight no matter from what angle they look at me. No matter what I wear. I just look good all the time :)
  • You're asking for too much... Some people either put their baby in gym daycare or they have kids that sleep all day and they work out at home. I had neither. My babies would cry the second I thought about handing them to someone or about putting them down somewhere. I started working out when they were 6-9 months old. My…
