it's just to bring the topic back up to the forefront, similar to flagging it so that others can see it too. :)

Yeah you're definitely way more organized than me! And I am reallllly organized. LOL... I can't really plan my meals any further than 1 day in advance. I try to give my tastebuds what they want, when they want it - just in moderation. If I plan my meals too far in advance, I find that I get bored and unmotivated to eat…

French Fries. LOL.... I don't have much of a sweet tooth, it's the salt. I go crazy for it! Oddly though, as I continue to eat healthier, I crave the fries less and less. Now when I have some, it doesn't seem to give me the same satisfaction anymore. I swear my taste buds have changed. When I walk through Whole Foods, all…

Thanks ya'll!!! Yes, that was 4 weeks. I was really floored as to how quickly it was coming off too. I asked my doctor if it was normal or if I was going too fast because I think I lost like 16lbs in the first 4 wks. I was only shooting for 1-2lbs/wk. But I was always btwn 1200-1500 cals per day and i really didnt do much…

hahahahaha!!!! it is not medically advised for the human body to receive less than 1200 cals a day. you need that minimum to sustain your voluntary and involuntary bodily functions. as someone so aptly pointed out, they're called "supplements", as in they supplement a regular diet of real food. the last thing you want is…

That's smart. No single diet is gonna work for everyone. People forget to factor in lifestyle and realistic day to day habits. For me personally, I find that what works is not changing the foods I eat per se, because I can't stick to those omissions... but changing just the quantity of what I'm eating. I still have Taco…

I happen to log everything that passes my lips. Everything. This includes oil sprays, pats of butter, vegetables, pinches of salt/seasonings, etc. I know a lot of people don't include these things. So it's probably more of a personal choice. I find that it's really surprising how much those "little " calories actually add…

OMG! I recently saw the infomercial for the pants and shirts that tone. WTH!?!?!? Regarding the shoes... I own a pair. LOL.... I bought them bc the proceeds went to charity. I wore them for 2 wks and thought "this crap doesnt work but they sure are comfortable!" And they are comfortable. Then I had a 14 hr day on set,…

Thanks everyone! It's definitely a challenge to stay on track. Especially working in entertainment PLUS the holidays! But slipping into previously too small pants is a great, great motivator!!!! I still have 60% of my closet taunting me, but I'm slowly claiming it back, garment by garment.

Everyone is absolutely right, you cannot spot reduce. However, there are plenty of of exercises you can do to focus on your arms. The definition will only come out if you lose overall bodyfat though. Push-ups and Tricep Dips are great classics that are classics because they work. They're definitely hard moves that you'll…

Hi! Nice job being proactive in recording your steps! A lot of pedometers need to be calibrated. Or, try placing the pedometer (if it's small enough) in the center of your bra. Walk 20 steps and see if it counted 20. G'luck!

Welcome to MFP! It is a nifty little site isn't it? Good luck to you in your progress!!!! xoxo

Don't be so hard on yourself. This isn't a test of passing and failing. It's life. So you had 2 days of indulgence... Good for you. You need those every now and then. Now, remember how great you've been feeling these past few weeks and how proud you were of your progress? Keep that in mind when you make your next meal…

THAT is the best feeling ever! CONGRATULATIONS! That's a huge feat. :) Merry Christmas to you! Keep up the good work.

Good luck to you! You can totally do this. And this site is extremely helpful. I personally had never tried to lose weight before, and I'm finding it's not as bad as I thought, with the help of MFP. Just remember why you're doing it and try to keep motivated through the unavoidable speed bumps. Congratulations on this new…
