Added you. Quitting soda is hard I've failed at that several times. But you put your mind to it and find substitutes rather than soda have tea or water but not beer trust me on that. Take one challenge at a time after soda is gone pick the next challenge and just work at it. It all takes time.

I don't know a lot about exercise but what I do know is losing weight and such fat and gaining muscle takes time. Starting with body weight movements and add weights later. Paleoish, I try but something always seems to screw me up. I have been stuck at the same weight for about a month now, but I'm getting stronger thanks to crossfit so I'm ok with that as long as I see improvement in of some sort in my body.
