Thank you guys!! I'm checking my library now for both books!! (And maybe others?) Luckily I LOVE to read! #cantwait

Varda why are you telling fibs?? 10k's are fun for NO ONE!!!! (My 2 cents lol)

^^^this run was absolutely awful for me. I probably walked nearly a mile of it which is very rare for me to need a walk break at this distance. As I mentioned I was out for vengeanance this weekend and actually met my goal time (1:50) and now have a new PR of 1:49:47 and miles 8-10 were the fastest. I've definitely gotten…

I am brand new to researching everything! Thank you so much for the referral. I will seek it out!

Super dooper proud of you!!! Virtual races take some of the anxiety and pressure off. I'm psyched that you ran another of our races! Thanks! You'll have to post a pic when you get your medal, they're so awesome! I ABSOLUTELY think you need to start thinking about a half marathon, your time was great!!!! ????????????

If I thought there was a chance I would be swept then I would not enter but simply finishing last would not bother me (much ????).

<---- This is why this is my gym.

Definitely a fan of logging long slow miles and just building base miles in general to improve performance. I've PR'd my half marathon by 11 minutes in 7 months simply by running more. I've also PR'd my 5k by 11 minutes in 11 months. I would also echo that "speed work" is a more experienced runner's workout vs when you're…

Man. I'm doing it wrong too. I'm shooting for 2014 miles this year. That averages out to 5.5 miles/day...
-
Agreed! ???? I enjoyed my run more than I thought I could have. I was out from 4:15am-5:05am, 4 miles + 0.5M cool down walk.

f you'll all agree to forgive me, I'll admit that I never used the C25k program nor subsequently the B210k program. I do however remember feeling like my heart and lungs were going to explode when I started running. So thankful my fitness has improved. I would never have thought I would be seriously considering running an…

Not to mention it was early in the morning! Great pace Laura!

I hadn't heard anything from you about this so I didn't know if you were running it!! I'm excited that you are. When are you running? I'm doing the 10-mile virtual. ????❤️

Holy cow this is the total opposite of stupid and pointless! I get way too wrapped up in my own competitiveness with myself! I will eagerly track this thread looking to celebrate NRV with everyone! Recent one for me: running my last few training runs simply to log the miles and enjoy them. Not on a strict pace, mileage or…

10-miler this weekend Half Mary 05/17 Half Mary 06/01 Half Mary 06/28 And I'd be here all day if I continue ???? I have four more HM's and lots of shorter stuff and that takes us through the end of Sept. Feeling out the idea of a 24-hour ultra in October.

First half Mary's are so special! Congrats! Take some time to enjoy this without putting too much pressure on how much time to shave off in a year. Just keep doing the right things!
-
I don't mean to sound discouraging because I've heard people having success with it but for me since I've started running half Mary's or longer I have maintained or (God forbid) gained. I lost 100 pounds between June 2012 and August 2013 prior to increasing my run volume. My longer training runs and races were suffering at…

???????????? Laura! Thank you ????

Massive kudos and congrats!!!! First half Mary's are so special!!!!! I agree with so many parts of your post!! They're definitely addictive also. Happy race scheduling lol.

PR'd my 10M by the very tips of my toes on Saturday. So I'm giving it another shot next Saturday. Lol.

You obviously know how you're feeling better than anyone else, but I would STRONGLY encourage you to reevaluate the fit. Good luck "consciously trying to relax" for 20 miles when everything in your body and mind just want to quit running. "Hardly any pain" won't feel so insignificant at that point. Not trying to be pushy,…

I would be happy with 25 pounds but 50 would even be better lol. Both are within my healthy range. Also, I'm not that speedy!!! THANK YOU THOUGH!!! ???????????? We're all going to dominate May!

I loved the even effort vs even splits section. Great point! Thanks ????

I would kill to have this problem. I have run so many courses where you can gain 182 feet in 1/4-1/2 mile. I'm sure you'll be fine. I do variable incline hill training on my treadmill similar to the pyramid mentioned previously. You can also do hill sprints on short steep hills, it won't emulate the course but it will…

Casual shoes = starting size Running shoes = 1/2 size up Increased run volume in 2014 = an entire size up Furthermore you'd be surprised to see how little actual length is the difference between sizes. I got a very painful blood blister that formed under my big toe nail and eventually forced off my toenail before realizing…

Me neither! Agreed!

Your review was excellent! It's tempting ???? but the wire cutter article almost put me to sleep. It falls into the TLDR but skimmed category. Thanks for sharing and congrats on the milestone of 600,000 steps!!!! How long have you been using it?

Concur also... ????????

I conquer with the building weekly volume and adding races into the mix!!
