Thanks hun, believe me I've done the sobbing, and on and off I still do... but I need to try to get on with it now.

Hi Team. :flowerforyou: Yes what a rubbish week that was... :frown: And this morning the radion played Rick Astley's "Together Forever" of all things... I laughed hysterically. First signs of madness I'm sure!! Anyway the moping stops HERE and NOW. I need to start eating properly again. My stomach feels like it's…

Apologies, correction, it's actually 138 pounds, so 4.6lb loss since last saturday weigh in. Oh well, at least if nothing good came out of all this drama, it's extra points for the southern softies. :drinker:

Ironically all the stress has brought my weight right down, so I am officially "back in the nines", i.e. back in the 9 stone range. :ohwell: Cloud... silver lining...

Sadly it wasn't a happy Friday here... Spent day with my now-ex boyfriend with both of us in tears and working our way throught half a bog rolls worth of snot. So we're no longer an item. He says he's "just not in love with me". Says there's no one else and I believe him. The reason he took the best part of 2 years to work…

slightly active log exercise seperately.

Depends on too many variables... Pace Weight of buggy & kids Gradient of hill and ultimately... Your weight Your heart rate while you do this. No one can answer this really - only a HRM could tell you precisely.

I agree. Just cardio on top of a very low cal diet (probably not enough protein either), will do nothing but make your body eat itself from all the wrong sources.

Down from 142.6 to 139, so 3.6lb loss... I'm not proud of it. Broken up with my other half very unexpectedly. Much stress and little food. :frown:

It's possible to be technically in your normal weight range, yet still have a body fat percentage bordering on obese. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/197718-new-rachel-cosgrove-article-on-skinny-fat-interesting?page=1#posts-2617220

You want to lose 40 pounds by May? Has someone told you it's almost the end of March? 40 pounds in like... 5 weeks? Are you serious? What's the rush?? Weight that was gained over months or years isn't going to drop off in a month. You've got to have a little bit of patience.

I just got dumped by text!! After 2 years. The usual "it's not you it's me" "I am selfish, too much of a loner", "you deserve better", bla bla bla  :explode:  I told him he can tell me this face to face when I come to pick up my stuff when I go up there, and if it's the last thing I do. I am so angry and…

Oh yeah... and that!! :embarassed:

I know what they're there for but... a) I use a race number belt cos I don't like piercing my kit and b) I wouldn't take my whole gym bag with me when I'm racing!

It kind of works because you never allow your body to adapt to the exercise. With steady state cardio, there is a process called adaptation, where after a number of weeks of doing the same steady heart rate elliptical workout or whatever will burn fewer fewer and fewer calories for the same period of time that your…

Well done to everyone who's been losing weight "the right way". LOL :drinker: I agree clothes fitting is more imporant than the numbers on the scale !! It's also much more indicative of good body composition, as you can still have too much body fat even when you're in your "normal" weight range.…

hello lovelies, Yes South Wales is looking lovely this morning. *waves from Cardiff* :flowerforyou: Thank you for your kind words of support. Yes the very sudden onset of male cold feet syndrome has literally floored me it was so unexpected. :frown: I'm travelling up on Friday for us to "talk" but part of me fears it'll be…

Hi Team, Sorry I've been a bit quiet bit am having problems with my other half and the stress has totally put me off my food. Seeing him on the weekend to see if we can work things out and it's all very upsetting. Anyway, this stress diet beats training and diet hands down as I've lost 2lb since Sunday and I've done zero…

There'll be a big get together on the 17th April. It's called the London Marathon.

I agree wholeheartedly with the person who suggested you pick up half way through Hal Higdon's 12-week novice HM programme. http://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/novice.htm If you can stick to that you'll get round.

Stroutman did a great thread explaining why obese folk can cope with much larger deficits than leaner people without getting into starvation mode. It's worth reading. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/173853-an-objective-look-at-eating-exercise-calories

Personally I think they are a bit of a fashion gimmick that can be used around the gym but I would certainly never ever run in them.

Ironically, if I have interpreted the OP correctly, that was exactly her (and other's) point... As soon as you mention the quick fix, the magic pill etc, people's ears prick up... and there isn't one. And anyone who carries on believing that they will find the magic "no effort" fix is simply deluded, or to use the OP's…

I agree totally with the weekly-only weighing. I can fluctuate by 3lb between morning and evening easily, but there is absolutely no point getting into a flap about it. Of course I haven't gained 3lb in 9 hours, it's just stuff like water, food in your digestive tract etc. As long as the general direction on your weekly…

I'm sorry you're receiving such a rubbish service from your medical team. It would have been nice if someone had maybe discusssed with you that certain aspects of combination therapy can lead to weight gain for some people, or make it harder for them to lose weight etc. In my country people with a disability can get…

Welcome to the site. :flowerforyou: I have close working relationship with our HIV services due to my job, and some of my clients are on triple therapy etc. Have you discussed your desire to lose weight with your consultant doctor? On the water front... the more you drink, the less you retain. Walking is a great…

I'm sorry but muscle does NOT build that quickly. Have you eaten foods high in sodium? It could be water weight? But I promise you it's not muscle at that rate.

I do it by: - getting up earlier - not bailing out of training sessions - making better nutritional choices - keeping your eyes on the price I'm sorry there is probably nothing new or earthmovingly innovative in this but at the end of the day that's really all it comes down to. Find an activity that you enjoy, so it's not…
