Mine is a spitting image of his father as well.

LOL... he tells me about weight to rim depth ratios and thinks he's talking dirty to me... I should introduce you two!! LOL
-
Some nice early morning spinning sessions.

I agree with the poster who said see her in a year and see where she's got to. You'll have changed your lifestyle and will be fit and slender... and she'll be off her shakes with an extra 30lb.

1) I tried on my wetsuit and could barely get it up to my thighs :embarassed: 2) I realised I weighed more than my man! :noway: 3) I checked my BMI and at BMI 26 I was officially "overweight"
-
My other half and I also have an age difference. I'm 40 and he's 35. Everyone thinks we're the same age... ... but that's probably because he's bald... :ohwell:
-
You should see him with a Planet X catalogue... It's embarrassing! Especially when he sees Zip wheels... :embarassed: :ohwell:

My other half is a 6x Ironman triathlete. If he caught me with a heart rate below 170bpm in bed with him, he'd be deeply offended!!!

This is one of the best written articles I know of on the subject. http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/cms/article-detail.asp?articleid=326

What you can smell is your body breaking down protein. You're burning muscle not fat. Look at your training. http://www.bodybuildingtoday.com/bodybuilding/that-ammonia-smell-after-training/

"Can you slow down a bit please, I'm no longer in my fat burning zone." "But I'm doing HIIT..." "Oh!"
-
Hell no. He'll tell me to put more effort in...

Are you people serious? Wearing a HRM when you're with your other half? I've heard it all now. And to log it as Calisthenics??? :noway: Next we'll have a thread on whether you need to eat back your "exercise calories" from shagging.

Conditioning often doesn't transfer across different acitivities. I breeze though double spin (2 classes back to back) and now easily squat 100lb... but when my friend took me hill walking for a couple of hours I could barely move the next day. It's good to mix things up a bit. Keeps the body surprised.

Weight that was gained over months or even years will not drop off in a week or even a fortnight. You'll just have to be patient and stick with it. It's frustrating sometimes, but it'll move eventually.

PMSL... isn't it funny how your perception if distance get totally skewed...!!! I remember driving to a place, basically doing the century ride route I used to do on the bike, and was really surprised how 'long' it was... And the my friend just stated dryly... "well... it is a hundred miles!" Yes a half is…

Thanks so much for organising us again Ros. :flowerforyou:

WHOOP WHOOP!!! :drinker: :drinker:  My weigh in day is Sunday morning. Last Sunday (i.e. yesterday) I was spot on 143lb. I'm 5'6" and my current BMI is 22.96 (down from BMI 26).

I absolutely agree. If you want to listen to your own music, do your own choreography, set your own speed / HR etc then WHY do a class?? Use a gym bike and do your own thing and someone else can have the place in the class who actually wants to follow the class.

Hi sweety. :flowerforyou: I see you also spotted the other tri thread. Yes there are a few of us here. :drinker: I'm giving racing a miss this year until I have my body back in order... or maybe just one or two little ones like sprints or Olys. Not sure I could train for an IM again. It's just such a huuuuuge committment.…

I like Pump. It's a great laugh!! :flowerforyou: I may do a couple next week. I used to squat 60kg (just over 130lb) but I'm still a while away from that. I need to watch my knees a bit more too. An old female friend of mine used to be able to squat double that, 120kg!! :noway: And she honestly wasn't build like a brick…

I had DOMS from hell today after Fridays leg session. I always get the worst of it about 36 hours later so Fridays 100lb squats came to bite me today. Spent all weekend spring cleaning and probably burned more calories as if I would have trained. LOL Can't rememebr when I last had a WHOLE weekend off training. Feeling…

Same here, baby carrots & hummus. :drinker:

Absolutely but not in a class. Imagine everyone would do this... in Zumba... in Body Pump... in a step class... it totally negates the point of classes if everyone did their own thing. The argument "well I pay" doesn't really apply I don't think.
-
I totally agree with this. I feel bad enough when I happen to be in a spin class where I chose not to do parts of the choreography... for example I don't do press ups on handlebars because they're quite frankly a waste of time, and I don't do stuff that's basically not going to aid my road cycling. However it would never…

I'm assuming you're vegetarian?? The best sources of protein are obviously meats (in particular certain poultry like turkey and chicken) & fish. Legumes are a decent source of protein for vegetarians.

Have you checked out Plyos? You can do those without equipment as they are body weight exercises that you can make specific to the muscle groups most used in tri. http://www.brianmac.co.uk/plymo.htm

It feels to me like my metabolism has to go through little periods of "adjusting"... like it likes to sit there for a couple of weeks to get used to a new weight and once it realises everything's fine I'll start losing again. Something else to bear in mind is that it is much much harder to lose the less it's truly "spare".…

Last couple of weeks were only half pound losses for me but this week strangely I'm 1.4lb down. I didn't do anything differently so I guess that's just the way it goes. :ohwell:
