Not as much as you'd think... what you see is related to your latitude rather than longitude. I'm from Luton originally and now I live in Louisville. I'm about 13 degrees further south, so I can see the whole of Scorpius and most of Sagittarius - constellations I wouldn't have a hope of seeing from England. I can't see…

I've been into astronomy since I was six; I used to have my own website and wrote the software and website reviews for Astronomy magazine between 2001 and 2003. When I lived in Oklahoma I was out almost every moonless night with the 'scope - I have a 4.5" Orion XT Dob - but since I moved to Louisville in 2008 it's been…

LOL @Special Sundae - well, we can't all be perfect, can we? mom9198 - that's cool - I wanted to dress as one of the Doctors for Halloween, but alas, I don't look like any of them. It's funny you mention Aspberger's... I've come across several people over the past six months who have children with possible (or confirmed)…

Hello all :) It's nice to see a few fellow astronomers on here (I hate the term stargazers - makes me sound like I just stand outside and stare up at the sky.) I did wonder if it was worth creating a group but didn't know how many would be actively involved with it. Any thoughts or opinions?
-
Awesome - welcome Special Sundae :) Did anyone like Stargate Universe? Never saw it myself but apparently all the SG fans turned away LOL
-
I accepted your friend request :) I've been using the site since July. I saw your reply in my astronomy topic - I'm actually looking to relocate to WA, around the Kennewick area if I can... what are the night skies like there?

I'm totally onboard with this. I've calculated how many calories are burnt playing Star Wars Lightsabers with your kid for thirty minutes (it's 45.) I was dueling with my son yesterday and had the pedometer on - it measures calories burnt too. I added it to the database. All you Jedis can thank me later :)

Someone said JJ Abrams turned the bridge of the Enterprise into an Apple store LOL I liked it though - am looking forward to Into Darkness. You know, everyone hates on the prequels, but I don't mind them. I didn't really like Return Of The Jedi anyway. Teddy bears with sticks overthrowing legions of stormtroopers? I don't…

It's a shame William Hartnell had passed away before it was made - the actor who took his place did a fine job though. All the special effects look a bit cheesy now LOL
-
I totally agree... he made for an interesting doctor - quite different from X and XI. Did you know that Eccleston announced his departure from the show right after his first episode aired? Bummer LOL
-
Hey guys, I've been into astronomy since I was six... you can blame Star Wars LOL mahirob, I've been to Hawaii too but you were lucky to have time with that researcher. I'd love to have that opportunity! (I'd ask how he got the job LOL) I"d also love to work at one of the observatories they have at the top of Mauna Kea.…

The first Doctor I remember is Pertwee, but I really grew up with Baker and Davison. I was never a Who fan at the time, but we used to watch it sometimes as I ate my ham sandwiches on a Saturday night in England LOL mom9198 - so you're the one :P I didn't mind him... I just think it's a shame we never really got to know…
-
Everybody liked the Brigadier too... have you seen The Five Doctors? He had some great moments with the second Doctor in that :)
-
Cool :) What did you think of the Star Trek reboot? And what of JJ taking on Star Wars? I'm definitely looking forward to the new Trek movie in a few months and I think SW Ep VII could be well worth the wait too...

Right. I've heard both Moffat and Matt Smith state that Matt has no intentions of leaving just yet. Which is fine by me. I'm curious to know what his "biggest secret" is though... ...any ideas?
-
Pfffffft! :P Am I the only one who prefers XI?
-
Captain Jack was awesome. I especially liked the subtle nod that X gave to him in Tennant's final episode... it was that one, single scene that made me go watch Torchwood because I wanted to know what had happened to the poor man... and then I found out! Wow... I'd LOVE to see him come back and appear in some eps with XI :)
-
I have to say, The Empty Child & The Doctor Dances were very orginal... not a big fan of spinning Christmas trees and plastic Santas though LOL :P
-
LOL Vicki... you should work where I work... we're tech-heads... I've never seen a higher concentration of Whovians in one place before... it's the only place I've worked where you can wear a tweed jacket and a bowtie for Halloween and people won't think you're a boring college professor.
-
Donna had some great, funny moments... I especially like the scene where she gets all indignant because she mishears the Doctor... "You what??? You just want to mate????" LOL
-
...and what if Clara is actually a future regeneration of the Doctor himself?
-
And this, regarding the retun of the Cybermen in the penultimate season 7 episode.... "One of the things that Neil was initially really excited about was being given one of the classic Doctor Who monsters and being able to bring a new twist and a new way of looking at them. Certainly when we watched them on set they felt…

This from Mr Moffat, regarding Who's 50th Anniversary... It's the 50th year of Doctor Who and look what's going on! We're up in the sky and under the sea! We're running round the rings of an alien world and then a haunted house. There's new Cybermen, new Ice Warriors and a never before attempted journey to the centre of…

This, from io9.com, in their Morning Spoilers... Set in London against the backdrop of new and old iconic landmarks, The Shard and Westminster Bridge, 'The Bells of St John' will also establish a new nemesis, the Spoonheads, who will battle the Doctor as he discovers something sinister is lurking in the Wi-Fi.…

LOL You're *patiently* waiting? Pffffffft. I'm not. I'm looking forward to this... can anyone say "Neil Gaiman" and "Cybermen"??
-
Welcome! I'll have the meaning of Life, the Universe and Everything in June too :) I never did get into the original Who much... when you're raised on Star Wars, watching people running around hallways with wibby wobbly walls just doesn't work for me LOL (I've since gotten into it a bit... have the very first few episodes…
-
Actually, I just found it... whoopsie... oh well LOL I honestly didn't mean to create this one to compete against it...
-
Welcome, both of you - it's nice to meet you :) There's already a Whovian group? Really? Hmmmm... I searched for Doctor Who and nothing came up....

Story #232 - Season 7, Episode 7 The Bells Of St John (written by Steven Moffat) Airs in the UK and the US on March 30th, 2013

I've just created a new group just for us Whovians... Who R Us... if anyone's interested, you're more than welcome to join... I've literally just clicked the Save Group button... so there's not much there right now... okay, there's really nothing yet. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say an absence of nothing. Welllll...…
