IMO you need a medical checkup.

Dropping BF% WITHOUT losing weight is hard, with losing weight it's somewhat easier. I started out at roughly your weight (I am 5'8") and ended up on MFP after trial and error with other things. MFP has been great for this. Having said that- if you want to primarily drop BF% - IMO you need to do two things: lose weight…

I think your response is perfect - smile, say thanks, and acknowledge that you have lost weight- and don't give more details unless they ask or otherwise express interest. I have been there too and I imagine most people who have successfully lost weight have been there. Wait till you get near your goal weight- I bet people…

My regular hummus recipe it similar to the first one someone posted. However I have also made black bean hummus- google it, it's wonderful. I often add half a scoop of unflavored protein powder to boost the protein in it.

Tara Stiles. My yoga teacher recommended her videos for when I travel and do yoga at the hotel. They are great! Most are about 8-10 minutes long and each has a different focus, so you can put together several to make yourself a "class" - I'm in a hotel getting ready to do that right now!

Me too.

HRMs estimate calories based on heart rate (duh - I know you know that, but...) There are many things that affect heart rate, and only one of them is how much you are exercising. Just think about it - WITHOUT exercise your heart rate will go up due to stress/anxiety, fever, caffeine or other stimulants, dehydration, etc…

Hey Debbie thanks for your post. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Hang in there! Know and believe that God will give you the strength to get through whatever He sends you- and go ahead and "yell" at Him- it's good, He can take it. Seriously. And lean on us- we are there for you. I will support you with my prayers, and…

This sounds really good, though.

Mango smoothie, sipping it now. 3/4 c fresh mango, a little plain yogurt (about 75gm), 2/3 cup skim milk, and a scoop of vanilla protein powder. Great for hot weather.

If you have something you really like, pay to get it professionally altered. Other than that- give them away!! There is someone out there who can really use them!

Hey- well I like hot tea plain, I grew up with it. I like Red Rose and Earl Grey best. Having said that, though, I have another suggestion. I have been trying to cut back on my diet soda consumption and in order to do that have been making my own flavored cold teas. Where I live it's really hot so hot tea is not so…

I turned 50 in June and have been on MFP for more than 2 years. My goal was to do a push up ( a real one) by my 50th birthday- something I had never done in my entire life and which was an embarrassment to me way back in high school, along with not being able to do chin ups! Until I was about 45 I just excused myself that…

haha I feel like I can't tell my mom that my friends think she's cute.

The second-to-last workout of the first stage of "New Rules of Lifting for Women" - normally I take Sunday off but since I am supposed to be traveling for work on Friday I went to the gym today so I can get my 3 workouts in for the week before I leave. It took 46 minutes. I will also be taking the dog for a walk later but…

EXACTLY!!

Sounds yummy! I might throw in a little protein powder too!

Oh and BTW it was 1gm/Kg total weight
-
I was originally counseled by a fitness "guru" and researcher to eat 1gm/KG - and have read a lot of various advice since then. The best I can put together from all of it is minimum 1gm/KG to maintain muscle while losing weight, and 1gm/LB of LBM to add muscle when doing strength training.

Already hit my goal a few times and I keep changing the target

I agree. In fact, I use Body Fortress ones a lot- chocolate, chocolate PB, and vanilla as well as cookies n cream. I usually make a shake with part skim milk and part water- it's really good that way. With pure water it's just so-so. Also the vanilla can be made into a smoothy with fruit (mango is particularly delicious).…

Just to clarify- 1630 plus exercise calories usually put me around 1900-2000, and I was not exercising as much as you are.
-
If you are exercising that much, you will probably lose weight IMO. I currently have my maintenance set at over 1800, and I eat back my exercise calories. I was losing at 1630 plus exercise calories, and at the moment I am at my goal and want to maintain. (I am down from above 170 to 135).

If hypothyroidism (or slow thyroid) is affecting you, you should be on medicine. If not, it should not affect your TDEE. Talk to your endocrinologist.
-
Undecided so far - but actually I was thinking of diet sodas at one point, too!

This is correct. It is not dangerous to eat a lot of veggies - what is dangerous is to VARY too much how much you eat. If you are going to eat more- you have to eat more all the time, so that your INR remains stable.
