I just joined ETP. Does everyone do Crossfit? I don't. I'm having trouble figuring out when I should do a high or medium day because most of the descriptions are related to WOD. I'm counting my longer HiiT and Heavy Strength workouts as High days. My mediums I am counting days where I workout longer and do higher intensity…

I started Tae Kwon Do almost 5 months ago with the goal of reaching black belt in 3 years. I just reached gold stripe. My goal for 2016 is to be a brown belt by the end of the year. I'm also not doing it for weight loss, but mostly for a long-term challenge. So far I'm loving every minute of it.

I'm no longer wearing a baby -- my babies are 6 and 3.5 now -- but when I was I used to do a lot of walking with them. You can do a pretty brisk pace with a baby or toddler and burn a lot more than just walking alone. When my youngest was a baby and toddler, I used to wear her and push my older daughter in the stroller.…

I burn about 125 calories and my stats are pretty close to yours (although you don't mention your age, which also factors in). The best way to figure it out would be to wear a HRM. I have pretty low resting HR and a really high max HR for my age (41), so I burn fewer calories than many.

I am still breastfeeding my 20month old daughter. I don't add any additional calories to my daily allotted amount. The key is how many months post-partum you are. If you are 0-6 months post-partum you do want to add about 300-500 calories to your daily calorie intake. There is a setting in your MFP in your account…

I wear a HRM while exercising, along with my FitBit. When you start exercising, you start the timer on your FitBit. I have an Ultra so it might be different from the Zip, but on the Ultra you do this by holding the button down until the timer starts. To stop the timer, you hold the button down until it stops. This ensures…

If you're looking for Fall 2013, try the Marine Corps Marathon in D.C. It's not completely flat, but the scenery is great. I am a bit biased since it's my hometown. :) The Rock n' Roll marathons are pretty good first-time marathons. I did the one in Phoenix. It is as flat as you could possibly get. I think most of them…

I think Weight Watchers and other programs add about 300-500 extra calories per day. For me breastfeeding has not burned that many calories with neither of my children. If I wanted to lose the pregnancy weight I had to keep my daily calories to 1200, or if I exercised, to around 1500 calories total. It did not affect my…

The 30 day shred is a good DVD, especially if you are fairly new to exercise. Once you have built up endurance you can do more than one of the workouts, which are 20 minutes each. I would also recommend just getting a jump rope. Jumping rope is one of the best ways to burn calories really fast. You can burn up to 10…

I can commiserate. I exclusively breastfed my daughter for 6 months and am continuing to breastfeed her at 16 months now, although she eats a lot of solids. To compound things I was taking domperidone to help with my supply, and that makes it very hard to lose weight. I would say that at about 11 months when my daughter…

I have 2 kids and work 50-60 hours per week at my job. I still manage to workout for 1-1.5 hours 7 days a week. I wake up when it's still dark outside, and I'm working out at 5am. At one point when I had a newborn, due to my breastfeeding and pumping schedule, I was waking up at 4am and working out before 5 to get in my…
