Hi! Feel free to add me as well. I'm also work full-time with 3 busy sons/husband and am crazy busy - recently rejoined and could use the support to lose 25 lbs or so as well. We can do this :)

I think that as long as you are not hungry it is fine. If you are hungry - then eat. This whole bit about having to eat breakfast to "get your metabolism going" or for "energy to get going" (or to avoid overeating later, as the article discusses) seems crazy. What happened to listening to our bodies and eating when hungry…

I've been working on this by trying to balance healthy eating with occasional indulgences. It's hard for me to avoid thinking "Okay, today I can eat all of the stuff that I couldn't eat on my fast day" and then overdo it. So I've been allowing myself a few extras that I couldn't normally "afford" on a regular daily calorie…

Fantastic job - you look wonderful! I think it's great that you are seeing the changes in your health and fitness levels, as well, with the breathing and biking. Keep up the good work!

I will try this as well. We also eat late meals until late fall/early winter, so I'm also going with a 9 pm cutoff on non-fasting days. I will make 5 pm my cutoff on fasting days ( a bit nervous about this one :)

I'm aiming for 1500-1700 (and I am not always as 100% careful so the extra is probably accounted for). My TDEE is roughly 1700-1950, depending upon which calculator I use. I need to read the book yet, but it was my understanding that part of the reasoning behind 5:2 diets or similar is the calorie "swing" and the way your…

Goal loss: 22 pounds Loss to date: 0 lbs Loss this week: 0 lbs I weighed myself yesterday for a new "baseline" after not weighing myself for two months and two vacations. I was two pounds up from my lowest weight in May (which was better than I had hoped for after not following any plan or weighing in all summer)! I…

One of my favorite hymns - thank you!

Congrats on the loss! I love the positive attitudes in this group - very motivating!
-
Thank you! I'm going to try this on my next fast day.

Hi everyone! Yesterday was my first fast day - I did stick to the 500 as well. I looked forward to my dinner and realized that too often, I don't enjoy it as I should due to either snacking/nibbling decreasing my appetite as well as appreciation for sitting down - hungry - to a nice meal. My regular fast days are going to…

Congratulations on your success! You look and seem to feel fantastic. Thank you for sharing your story and insight - your post is a "keeper". Well done!

I like miso soup and that sounds quick and easy for this - do you use fresh or dried mushrooms?

I.Need.To.Exercise. Now - this week, starting today.

I'm back to MFP after finding this challenge while researching 5:2 and would love to join. I started today and would like to lose about 25 pounds. This seems to be the first thing that has made sense to me in awhile - the idea of counting calories or points everyday overwhelms me, so I'm just going to start by recording…

44 year old high school nurse here - not doing the shift thing anymore (previously ED nurse) other than taking care of very busy family when not working! Anyone can feel free to add me.

Sounds like you made a great save! I still get surprised at the calorie count of even the "healthier" selections when eating out. Last week I was at an all day training for work and we were provided Panera "box" lunches - only marked on the outside what type of sandwich it contained. I chose "sierra turkey" - I did eat…

I'm usually a daily person but only record one weight a week (same day each time). That being said, I refused to stop on today after chinese for lunch yesterday and ham for dinner - I know it's just a number, but I couldn't face the scales after a day with that much sodium :)
-
NO back up - you look great! Congrats!
-
That's fantastic - great job! Isn't is great to be able to eat whatever you'd like - and you're doing it the best way, making healthier choices. Keep up the good work!

Welcome! Newer here too and welcoming friends -feel free to add me.

You look fantastic - congratulations!

I recently purchased the 33 days to Morning Glory and would like to start it as soon as school is finished (I work in a school). It is difficult to fit everything in some days. I try to start with morning prayer with Magnificat, and always with a daily offering so that no matter how busy my day, everything I do that day…

Hi! New (again) here as well and could use some friends as well. Happily married with 3 sons, would like to lose 20-25 pounds. Feel free to add me!

Fage - 0% plain or with honey (add my own or if too lazy or on sale buy the little packs w/ it added), occasionally w/ fruit, but the 2% or whole fage - incredible! Creamy, not sour, filling - so good! Try some of the "real" types (not light) before writing it off, although one can live without yogurt, I suppose :)

If it is the cholesterol you are worried about, that has been busted - eggs do not affect LDL/HDL ratios; I believe the study I remember states that 2 eggs a day are fine. (I wouldn't worry about eating more, either :)

Thank you for posting this - I've heard a bit about this and have been wanting more information. I will be checking out the sources you listed. I am attracted to this because is sounds sustainable to me - I've recently rejoined here and often wondered about the sustainability of counting calories forever. I am a fairly…

Just for today, I will treat my body the way it deserves to be treated. (This is a great thread for me - restarting, and needed this; thank you!)

You've been through so much - congratulations on your recovery! And keep up that focus on being healthy and positive attitude - the losses will come for you.
