I am by no means a professional when it comes to running but I have been reading a running book. From what I understand you should keep long runs to once a week and begin to shorten your runs a week or two before the race. I wouldn't chance it if it were me.

I have a 21 year old son still living at home and he is welcome to stay as long as he likes/needs. However, if he ever tried to move in a fiance or 7 animals he would be out on his *kitten* so fast! Fortunately he would never dream of trying to take advantage of his mother that way.

With creatine you consume in cycles of loading and maintenance in order to maintain stores. Protein is not taken in the same way, there is no cycling involved so no need to take a break.
