How the heck did she get off of that thing without an ER visit?

The Mopeds. So bad they're - well, still not good, but really entertaining to listen to. "She was a la la la la LIZAAARRRD!"

Having done one of those videos, I can explain that - yeah, people WERE eating that way, and usually smiling through it - but not with a camera in front of their face, knowing the whole world could be watching you scarf down like that. Hell, before I started really changing my lifestyle, I'd order meals that big through…

I know a couple of digruntled ex-contestants have said as much, but I'd take it with a grain of salt. Yeah, some of it is set up and scripted, and there was DEFINITELY some water-loading and other shenanigans in past seasons, but I haven't seen anything to suggest that this year, with the new production company handling…

Protien bars, particularly Luna, Odwalla or Lara bars. The Odwalla ones are particularly filling, and having one between lunch and dinner seriously helps my chances of not blowing it big time between meals.

I do this too, actually. I know the caffeine is probably not THAT dehydrating, but if there's caffeine in the drink, I don't count it. If it's water with something non-caloric (or less than 10) to flavor it, like herbal tea or crystal lite, then I count it as water.

Walking, or using my stationary bike at home. Normal stationary bikes tend to hurt my back, but this one is recumbent with good padding and back support, so I can easily go 20-30 minutes on it without hurting. I also use a stability ball to do sitting crunches.

... Oh dear.

I recently found out the word "Frap" was banned from my daughters middle-school class. It's apparently not just short for Frappuchino, but a pseudo-cussword combo of crap and the f-word. Oh, FRAP!

Well, up until a year ago it was always Depeche Mode for me, at the height of the Violator tour. Great songs, great FX, crazy energy...but then we saw Roger Waters/The Wall show, so near the front that I could feel the heat of the pyrotechnics on my face when the aerial prop exploded. The Wall now trumps everything, ever.

<whispers> I still like Great White </whispers><runs away>

Great post! And I so agree...if I keep stressing on how fast/slow the weight comes off, it's just setting myself up to start yo-yo dieting again. I just have to focus on living each day as healthy as possible, and letting that be the the reward I get daily, not whatever tiny difference I see on the scale. And if I'm…

I was new in town, 23 years old and childless, and went in to see a free concert by a band I'd never heard of - Banana Slug String Band - thinking it was some indie college band from UCSC (their mascot is the Banana Slug, and we WERE in Santa Cruz, after all). Then I started wondering when I saw a bunch of people come in…

The Big Bang. My sis-in-law loves it, and doesn't get why my husband and I don't becasue "You're geeks, right? It's a show about geeks!" Yeah, it is - but it makes FUN of geeks more often than not, and we're more of a "laughing with you" mentality than a "laughing at you" type. Oh, and any given Bachelor/Bachelorette style…

Yeah, ham can be the "little death" of sodium levels. I'd say get as much info as possible about fresh herbs and their uses, to learn ways to cook flavorful food without the salt. Rosemary, garlic powder (NOT garlic salt), bay leaves, red peppers, Mrs. Dash, etc. If you must use salt, I think sea salts or the pink kind has…

Once a week, every Monday AM when I come in to work. Any more than that, and I get too obsessive over all the mini-fluctuations during the week. I keep it on Monday morning, since that way I'm encouraged to behave on the weekend, knowing that weigh-day is close at hand.

Thank you so much for such an inspiring story! Glad to see you're keeping a positive attitude after all you've been through! Wishing you many happier, healthier years ahead!

I don't know how it is for everyone, but I knew my husband was "the one" the first time we were apart (temporarily - he went out of town to care for his sick mom), and I realized that he'd become so much a part of my life that the possibility of him NOT being a part of it just wasn't there anymore. He came back, feeling…

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that was bothered by those posts yesterday. I blogged about it too, because I was so upset! Yeah, the pictures are out there - but this site is to SUPPORT each other in our health goals, not to judge and tear people down because they don't fit our personal ideal! So people should NOT just…

I'm from California, and there's just too much to post as far as attractions. Specifically my area (Santa Cruz County), I'd say: Beaches, surfing competitions, the Boardwalk, the Mystery Spot (it's bizzare and campy), a few haunted houses (The Brookdale, and if you count San Jose, Winchester Mystery House), forests…

LOL, this cracked me up FAR more than it should have! On a serious note, I do keep my diary open, but don't expect others to. The whole fear of being judged thing ran deep with me for awhile, and I can't honestly just expect people to automatically trust me NOT to judge them on their food choices, especially if, like me,…

@ Rita - because you can get carded at bars and I can't!

I know this list is just going to show I watch too much TV, but here's our favorites: Game of Thrones Castle Copper Dr. Who Archer Wipeout Biggest Loser (thankfully not sucking so far like the last season did) Extreme Makeover - WLE Grimm Once Upon a Time The Voice Master Chef (or any offshoot involving Ramsey going effing…

What a huge difference! Thanks for the extra inspiration to keep going today. ( :

I distrust restaurant salads in general, especially fast food ones. Even the stuff that doesn't seem remotely unhealthy (i.e. something with grilled chicken and fruit in it, with little to no dressing) can be ridiculously fatty and sodium packed. Jack in the Box and Taco Bell salads are the worst.

^^ THIS!!!

I wouldn't automatically jump to that conclusion. I seldom say no to anyone who wants to friend me (unless they're obviously pro-ana or pushing a product), just because I need all the support I can get, and do my best to respond to everyone's achievements I see with genuine encouragement. Sure, maybe we don't connect to…

I try to avoid it (since my resolve is diminished when I'm that tired, and I risk overeating) but if I'm really TRULY hungry before bed, I'll have some dairy like a nonfat yogurt or some 1% milk to calm the pangs. Then immediately go to bed, before I get hungry again.

Beer, wine, or most alcoholic drinks (except maybe rum). I keep hearing about how many calories alcoholic drinks have, so it's a good think I never crave them.

My kids are picky 8 and 12 year olds, but still drink the V8 splash drink, when I don't tell them what it is. They also both claim to hate tomatoes but when we mix tomato paste into recipies, they seem to think it's delicious. The rest we don't "disguse" as much as try to make fun. Artfully carved baby carrots, smiley…
