I'd have to say I like what it does for me - the weight loss, strengthening, increased energy - but can only really enjoy a workout if it's something I don't think of AS a workout. Like dancing with friends or walking my dog through the forest.

Going to the Boardwalk with my husband (then fiancee) and my two cousins, and standing in line at the Giant Dipper for half-an-hour, only to find out when it was finally our turn that I couldn't ride with my husband, because the safety bar wouldn't lock over my gut. The attendant even tried sitting on the d*** bar, to…

If I start getting late night munchies, first I stop to think if I'm actually physically hungry, or if it's just restlessness/stress/winding down from a long day making me think of food. If it's the latter, I figure out some way to relieve stress that's NOT eating - talking to the hubby, journaling, cleaning something,…

I'm a night owl too, and my trainer said it was ok to eat later IF it was low in fat, wasn't full of carbs, and if I didn't eat anything within 2 hrs. of bedtime. No carbs after 7 was the general rule, and while its a hard one to stick to at first, it did make a difference pretty quickly on the scale.

We had a bunch of friends in 12-step programs coming (and neither of us drinks much anyway), so we skipped the booze altogether - but the reception area was attached to a local bar, so if anyone really couldn't go the three hours of talking/dancing without a drink, they just walked next door and came back. No one…

I loved The Stand (book version), but the movie adaptation was just ok. Favorite movie based on his stories wasn't actually a horror one at all - "Stand By Me". Although The Shining is way up there, with some awesome cinematography, acting and soundtrack (just the first few notes of the opening song had my hair on edge the…

I tend to be honest but not brutal. Like if a piece of clothing looks awful/makes her look fat, I don't say "Wow, those skinny jeans are giving you an epic muffin-top!" but would say "I don't think that particular style looks good with your figure. You'd look better in (insert different color/shape/style/etc)." It softens…

People can be such jerks! Just remember, he's shouting insults from a car while you're out and moving your body, so you're NOT the one that needs to evaluate (or even remotely justify) what you're doing today.

Don't mass email "inspiring" 15 minute long powerpoint slide shows filled with stock-footage nature scenes and glib reflections on life, love, puppies, etc., ESPECIALLY if that slide show contains some sappy auto-play musak that starts blasting out of multiple co-workers monitor speakers the second they click it. Just. Do.…

Any girl worth dating is worth risking rejection for. Sorry he had a hard divorce, but seriously- before moving in for the aforementioned neck-punch, just tell him to think of how that girl would react to him sending some other dude for her phone number like some high school freshman. If he comes up nervously and asks…

I've never heard of this alternate chocolate PB before, but now I've GOT to find it somewhere, because frankly I freaking adore Nutella. And no, I don't have it all the time....but boy, does it taste worth the extra cycling when I do.

I also think that maybe you should ask her if your D&D nights out are bothering her - if she feels neglected somehow. She could just be acting that way with him because she feels left out when you head out with friends. Not that it's your fault - you should both be entitled to your own free time - but it's just the fact…

I might be in the minority here, but I think it really just depends on 1) what they're talking about and 2) if she's considering your feelings in it. Is she flirty with him, beyond a normal platonic friendship? Because if that bothers you, and you've said as much, she should be able to talk this through with you and make…

I've used low-fat versions of it to replace sour cream (on a potato, on top of salsa, etc.). You blend it up well enough, they taste pretty similar.

First, congrats on both your weight loss and the pregnancy. Second, I agree with what a lot of people here said about talking to the ob first - they know all about proper nutrition/healthy eating during pregnancy and can help you at least not gain weight (other than the baby weight) during the process. Just focus on your…

We've had very few fights, but the stupidest I can remember is a fight we got in over him not thinking that I fight people enough.

Good for you for telling him off - what a scumbag! It's pretty pathetic when people think they have to insult total strangers just to make themselves feel better.

I think at one point I used to think that a guy who didn't like a woman because she was heavy was shallow, but that was mostly because it just hurts being rejected for any reason. I realize now that it's not that they don't like you as a person - they just don't see you as a compatible romantic partner. And it makes sense!…

Sugar calculating has been hard for me too - I'm not diabetic but had borderline gestational diabetes during my last pregnancy a few years ago and it runs in my family, so of course I'm worried about it. But staying under 40 like it says just seems impossible! One bowl of cereal, some 1% milk and a single tangerine, and…

Broccoli and legumes are good to look into. I'm anemic, and often turn to those for boosting my iron (along with daily slowFE supplements)

2000 calories? Dayam, how big IS that fishtank? Are there sharks in there? And I do log cleaning every once in awhile, but not the everyday type. If I'm doing HEAVY scrubbing/yardwork/etc - like sore muscles everywhere and actually sweating from it - then hell yeah, that's exercise! I won't apologize for that. But I'm…

Wow, that is awesome! Thanks for being such an inspiration!

LOL, I thought you were serious for a sec and cracked up laughing! Man, could you imagine jogging with that? You'd run down the street and the people that you passed up would think "Hey, is someone cooking popcorn?"

I've used baby powder sometimes, or just pulled on some light cotton bike shorts under my skirt, if I know it's gonna be a long walk/hike. never tried deodorant, though. Makes sense, though.

My mother has fibromyalgia, and gets very frustrated by how limited her physical activity is getting, especially as she gets older. She does go to the pool weekly, though, since that's an extremely low-impact non-contact form of exercise. On her better days she goes for walks, too, at a very leisurely pace. Consistency…

Yeah, my digital scale does the same thing. It has to be on absolutely level ground, so I marked on the floor (with masking tape) where it needs to be pulled out to be accurate. But even then, it fluctuates 3-5 lbs depending on my posture, how far up or far apart my feet are, etc. I'm seriously considering saving up for…

What she said - even the most hardcore workouts don't always result in immediate weight loss. Take pride in what you've done and realize there will be plateau's along the way - but it's the long-term change that really matters, and that will happen.
