Well... I am at the point where I will only run if I am being chased... However, I can tell you I find it much more difficult to WALK on the treadmill than I do on the ground. I am fairly certain that the issue is that the treadmill is moving whereas the ground, while moving very slowly, isn't moving at a rate that you can…

That sounds delicious. I believe i have a bunch of quinoa at home. Need to try this out.

I just found this thread and am loving the idea of it. I have been having the WORST time trying to get cardio of any sort in since I started strength training and I think a challenge like this is just what is needed to get back on track. I think I can totally get this done before Christmas if I just stop being a slacker…

My must have is Sonoma Chicken Salad in the deli section. umm... but I am pretty sure it isn't healthy...lol (not in the caloric sort of way anyway.) Whole Foods doesn't HAVE to be expensive. I got an entire salmon recently (yes the whole stinkin' thing!) for $5/pound. Shop their sales. They aren't cheap but If you look…

There are a few meals that I was hoping I wouldn't love anymore after 6 months of not having them. *sigh* Yeah... my very most favorite meal, which I suspect is over 1000 calories, is still made of awesome. :-/

oh my heaven and heck... My first thought was CAULIFLOWER then NO! Peas! NO! Asparagus! No! Avocado (i don't care that it's a fruit) NO! Corn! NO! POTATOES! Umm...i don't know... i like the above the mostest... i think. :-)

lol... BOOBY FLAY! (sorry... 12 year old girl in me couldn't stop giggling!)

you know... i balked at the gym for a long time. I didn't want to be the fat chick at the gym and have everybody gawk at me. We all have ridiculous voices in our head that we need to learn to silence. Mine kept telling me that all the people at the gym would look at me and think I was fat. They would think that it was…

I made them this way for thanksgiving. It was one of those things that I knew I liked, but hadn't had in a LONG time, and i figured would be one of the few things that wasn't covered in butter or a cream of some sort. They were delicious. The only thing I did differently was to halve them so they were a little more…

I found this over at Eat Better America. Isn't particularly low in sugar but maybe you could substitute with splenda? I haven't actually baked with splenda so I don't know how well it substitutes or if it tastes weird once it is cooked.…

This thread cracks me up. I can't imagine ever thinking 180 calories for lunch was too much. The salad I just had, that was almost entirely vegetables, had more calories than that. (Don't send letters... I promise it wasn't full of crap that make salads at places like chilis deadly!) :-) ooh and when I was a kid, my mother…

There is a BMR calculator on here under tools. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/tools/bmr-calculator

yeah i always use the stuff that doesn't have any added sugar (you know... the kind where the ingredient list just says "apples." ) I will definitely have to try out your recipe. Banana bread makes me happy. :-)

wow... see there is proof that i shouldn't be allowed to have kids (thank goodness i have no intention...lol)... i never would have considered they needed to be more pureed than the regular ones are for babies. :-)
-
Since I don't have kids, I am going to have to ask this question? What is the difference between baby food applesauce and regular, no sugar added, apple sauce? I always use the regular in the snack cups for my recipes so i don't have to open and use a whole jar quickly. would using the baby food jars be different…

I have been so bad the last week or ten that I wasn't going to weigh in at all this weekend. But Sunday morning the scale was looking at me and I decided it really couldn't hurt anything if I did. Happily, I had no change. I have got to figure out a way to get out of my own way now and get back to it like i mean it. For…

It kind of varies but usually it is a little more than I gained, and then the next week i may have a bigger loss. Hard to say these days due to stupid plateau i can't get off.
-
i have been on a hella huge plateau lately, BUT when I am losing, I do gain the week before and then usually lose it all again the next week. (as long as i don't go on a girly binge of chocolate and salt...lol)

I would suspect it depends on where you live and all that. My trainer is $30/session. He gave me one free when I bought 4, but I don't know that will continue. I "auditioned" a trainer that was about $75/session but they were private. They only did PT at their location and only one person at a time. I didn't like him well…

I have never found one that i actually trust to work... even the bodybugg i wear has one on it but i don't pay close enough attention to the steps to know it isn't just calculating random arm movements as steps. Sooo... i went looking for one I wear on my shoe. I found one that i love. I believe he is still selling them,…

Could sweat be an issue though? I honestly don't know the answer to this question, but it seems like it possibly could?

you know, I survived Christmas last year and lost weight. It wasn't a normal Christmas, in that we couldn't have the normal celebrations due to weather. HOwever, i was trapped in the house for 5 days with my mother and the dog and all the cookies and candy i had made and brought with me. I snacked on the treats and when we…

My goal is to be down about 20 pounds by the new year. I am struggling mightily right now, so I am not sure how well this is going to work... but that is the current goal. :-)

Okay... I made these last night. I have never made angelfood cake before, though we had it all the time growing up. The batter was REALLY foamy and when I tasted it, it almost tasted like I had poured 7up in to the mix. Is that normal? They baked up okay but were really sticky... i forgot how sticky angelfood cake is. I…

You know what's really annoying is that this person probably thought they were helping. oy

OH. MY. HELL!

Hello there! Finding myself having a rough time getting motivated to do any sort of exercise at home. I do a great job going to the gym when I have a session with my PT, but that is only twice a week. I did get on the bike last night and rode for 40 minutes and hopefully can do it again tonight. I think I have just gotten…

Thank you for this! I have the ingredients for it but got a little freaked when looking for cooking time instructions and saw someone say you have to hang it upside down just like regular angelfood cake. Glad to see i don't have to do that with the cupcakes (or so I assume from your post...lol) I am curious though...…

Well, I am still within the period where I get the first 6 months with it. However, the digital display is just a watch, so I don't see how it wouldn't work even if i weren't in that period. (not sure if that makes sense... words are failing me today...lol) The bugg itself is what you plug in to your computer, not the…

I hate the body bugg interface. Their website is bulky and by the time I am done entering food and stuffs in, i end up with 3 or 4 extra windows open on my computer because every time you click to enter a new area of the site, it opens a new window. And I had trouble with using their site on my phone. It seemed like every…
