I can just imagine it now, a four panel comic along some building. Or better yet, one image on each of four sequential buildings. You're right though, not really his style. I actually saw a graffiti artist who did a documented project kind similar where the drawing was redrawn over and over slowly moving from one building…

I don't know much about DC or Marvel comics. I really like Fables and reading comic memoirs like "Maus", "The Photographer", "Persepolis", and "Fun Home". And almost anything by Chris Ware. Also, if any of you are interested in abstract art, you should try "Abstract Comics". It's an interesting read on sequential art.

I think this is an excellent post. My husband has gone through a lot since we first started dating (8 yrs ago), while he was in the army and afterwards he'd often get depressed. This affected how talkative he was as well as how intimate. This also now happens whenever we move or when he is looking for a new job. Sometimes…

I just moved to Illinois for school. You can friend me. :)

I've seen maybe one or two images that weren't photoshopped or only minimally. Even the initial image and the image later on of the plus sized model are photoshopped. I think the worst was the black and white image of the girl only wearing jeans. Her head to body ratio is unbelievable, I mean look at her pelvis. I believe…

^^^ This! I've taken enough anatomy/figure drawing classes to know that all these are soooo fake. It drives me crazy to see how hacked up they are. They look so unnatural, like aliens almost.

I find these types of threads very interesting. All the images posted are obviously photoshopped. Even the women in them don't look like that. And it isn't just fat that is cut off, some of them are obviously missing where their bones would be. Almost every image has at least 5 inches that have been cut off if not more!…

At first I was going to say maybe that you could compromise, with a smaller tattoo on your back or something. The image you showed though, there really is no other way to alter it. It just looks so aesthetically pleasing the way it is (unless you did more of just the top wings and had it fade out once it hit the…

Congrats! That's amazing. I can't wait to get there myself. :D

What has helped me is that I'm taking it off quicker than I put it on. Now when I lose 10lb I can say, this is what I looked like a year ago. It helps motivate me to see if I can subtract another year of bad habits. Do you have any mini goals? Something to look forward to in the short term? That's another thing keeping me…

This wasn't said to me, but my twin sister (fraternal). My grandfather both wrote us poems for our high school graduation. In his poem to my sister he wrote something along the lines of "when you were young, I thought you quite homely, now you are grown, you look...." (something more complimentary that rhymed, I don't…

I think you could find a way to be happy and hold on to your beliefs. I know a lot of happy people who still believe that men are heads of the household and that the woman goes through her husband to answer to God. In these types of situations it is important to note not only the woman's responsibilities but the man's. He…

First of all, to the other comment you posted, where he claimed we were all liars. What do a bunch of strangers have to gain by lying to you? It sounds like a lot of the choices you have both made together were more his choices, and they didn't take into consideration your opinions or needs completely. I think marital…

^^^ This! Also, I LOVE your ticker!

   If you always lived in a box, you may not find it unusual to be in the box. How do you know you would want to get out?

Not sure how it goes for everyone, but this is my take on some mentalities. Somehow you got the idea in your head that you wanted to lose weight. That idea could possibly be attributed to society's ideals of what you should weigh (or completely different reasons, that's just what people think of first). If you lived in a…

Isn't that what everyone woman wants? I mean that's why we read those Twilight and Shades of Grey books right?

I had this conversation the other day with my husband. I said that since I'm mostly German background, when do I just become American? I have a friend who is fourth generation Mexican American and I guess I would be fourth generation German American, yet no one would ever call me that, even if I was second generation…

To try to restate this, I believe what you are saying is that you acknowledge there are statistics that show that unemployment from different groups does vary. One conclusion could be that it has to do with discrimination (which you happen to agree with as you stated several times). Without further information to go on,…

Wonderful points. I've had a lot of discussions about this in my education classes, and there is a general consensus now, between educators at least, that "black history month" isn't the right way to go. Not because it isn't important to talk about the achievements of a group of people, but it is the context. It shows that…

This reminds me of an article that I read while studying to become an educator. It said something along the lines of children used to be taught to see color and associated stereotypes with it (taught by parents, society, etc.). Then to create equality children were told not to notice color, but still learned the…

I think this is a good point. What I liked about what you said was that you ruled out the possibility of it being your exercise and food choices first, then thought it was the medicine. I have a heard a lot of stories like yours on various forums, and I let other people's experiences speak for my own. I assumed that since…

I was actually going to crochet that pattern using the hyperbolic equation for a fellow nerd (he'd probably be a geek) friend of mine, only I don't know that is has any real good physical purpose. Loved the idea though.

I think this is an excellent point. Lots of women know, but they have other things going on and they might not care at the moment to do anything about it. I gained 60 lbs during my 6 years at college. There is no way everyone around me didn't notice or that I didn't notice. I noticed every 10 lbs. Sure it bugged me, but…

I totally agree. I ask my husband his opinion since he can see me better than I can in the mirror, if I get mad, I get mad at myself. It's not like he forced me to gain weight. I think it really depends on the woman's personality though. Some may like a wake up call, some may like an offer to go do an activity outside, and…

I highly suggest reading this website and honestly considering what your responses are to the questions. http://www.inamaegreene.org/universalRedflags.html

For now it is Ellie Goulding. I tend to just listen to whatever is newest on my computer, then I repeat the album until I get sick of it. I think once I finish C25K I'll pick another album. Her songs aren't too energetic, but it helps me focus on my breathing without getting distracted by the beat.

This reminds me, I ran across this book ages ago in a bookstore. http://www.amazon.com/Dieters-Guide-Weight-Loss-During/dp/089480023X/ref=sr_1_9?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1344881650&sr=1-9&keywords=sex+calories It has all sorts of information on how many calories you burn by "being intimate". It also includes information, like…

I think if you are uncomfortable that this is a genuine problem. I have known several women in abusive relationships where they were not allowed to have friends, specially of the opposite sex and all forms of communication (FB, email, texts, phone calls) were monitored. I'm not trying to infer at all that it is the same…

Looked at your prof pics and I can definitely see it. I've lost 15 lbs and have a hard time seeing it myself, but I lifted my husband's bowling ball and I couldn't believe how much that is. Maybe try to find something that is 18 lbs and carry it around for a bit. I think the first 20-30 lbs are the hardest to see, and from…
