Thanks, JJ. I'll try this, too. Meds & therapy doesn't do it all.:ohwell:

When I am overly depressed I also eat - mindlessly. I don't keep sweets or pastries around so what I eat is just lots of "good" food. I agree with most of the other posts = do something unrelated to food as a "treat" for yourself. Watch a funny movie, get around people, pet an animal, hug your daughter, see a doctor and a…

Any of these recipes would be good but I have always liked them  so I can just microwave them in a steam bag and add a little light butter or olive oil and salt and pepper to taste. I think the bacon would make me over in fat grams for the day.:frown:

I don't think this is my group, BUT I have been so encouraged by reading your posts. I have even created a Word document with some of them so I can look at them when I feel discouraged or need a new idea to jump start my attitude. I am currently in cheating and overeating" mode. I ate 1/2 a can of Planters nut-trition…

WQW! What a triumph for you. Your hard work made you successful. Thanks for haring your story. I would also like to avoid "the surgery" and I only want to lose 205 pounds. I agree that this is a lifestyle change, not a diet. Again, thanks for sharing!

Congratulations! That is really cool and great views, too. I understand your initial fear, but this is the sort of activity I miss now that I am fat and have bad knees I'll get there eventually.

Congratulations! You look awesome!

Thanks Proud Mom NY. I am not diabetic like you are, but I don't want to be either, so I am always looking for low glycemic ingredients. Not to say I never eat baguettes or white rice, but I try to eat low glycemic whenever possible. I like Dreamfields, too.

What an honest, informational and inspirational story. I am so impressed! I especially liked your attitude and tips for your success and, oh yes, the resource links. I'm an information junkie too. Thank you so much. You look amazing and in 362 days I bet we won't recognize you by your picture. Here's for a fabulous 2014…

I have 150 lbs to lose as well. I've been back to MFP since Oct. 26.. I find tracking food as the day progresses helps me so I can plan how much to "spend" for the next snack or meal. I find apples for an afternoon snack to be filling. I add nuts or peanut butter for protein. I started out with a goal of 1 pound per week;…

Hello everyone. I would like to join this group. I have 170 lbs to lose. I would like to lose half that and then see if my doctor is still recommending bariatric surgery. I need to have both my knees replaced, but doctors won't do that until my BMI is down considerably. I joined at the end of October with a goal of l lb a…

When I graduated from college, I no longer had those phys ed classes to keep me active, got a job and put on 50 lbs in 4 months. Slowly, the weight just kept going on until I had doubled my weight. I didn't worry about it because the doctors kept saying I was so healthy. I yo-yo dieted over the years but the most I ever…

Thank you for this. I have 175 pounds to lose. I am considering bariatric surgery but am trying to lose most the old fashioned way. I needed your motivational ":speech" today as Christmas and the day after added 5 lbs back on. Today I got back on the horse. Thanks again!

I'm a returning newbie and I only came on to the "community" section this week and I have learned a lot from all of you. I am now reading "Intuitive Eating" one chapter at a time and have started journaling my "issues" because of what I read here. Thanks for posting. And I loved this one.

It sounds great, but I can't cook anything in my house with seeds or nuts in it, so I am going to try it with verde enchilada sauce. Thanks for sharing. I love slow cookers! :flowerforyou:
