I totally understand where you are coming from. I also have 3 kids (13g, 9b, and 6g). And the younger 2 are normal/thin, but my oldest is and has been a little overweight. I admit that in the past I was not the best example, and I have to work at it everyday. But, like you I am trying to teach her smart healthy habits and…

I envy you girls! I wish I didn't have to drive to work! But unfortunately I work 32 miles from home...32 miles of complete traffic! But I do have a garden! It's my first year so I am learning more than eating...but I do get some fruits (and veggies) of my labor!

WAIT!!! I got it!!! People weren't constantly on diets because they weren't in the position many of us find our selves...therefore, they didn't need to obsess over saving calories here or there...they didn't need to create a deficit. And they generally were more active than we are today.... Ahhh...I see  Go figure!

Also something to keep in mind, you stated it give you a percentage of body fat and a percentage of lean (muscle, bone, body WATER). The 5 pound conversion from fat to "lean" is not just muscle mass but can also be water, which we all know fluctuates quite a bit on any given day/time. But I think if the "fat" number is…

Granted it took a little while for my body to realize that I did eat enough for dinner, but then my tummy accepted the…

I appreciate that it is challenging...but gosh it bores me to tears. I am more of an active exerciser if you know what I mean!

That is life...and we need to make changes we can live with and that means we are going to have days that are not "perfect". It is so normal! You are doing great. And if it is any consolation...I went WAY over yesterday too...and I kinda PLANNED on it. :)

I totally allow splurges! It keeps me sane :) I read somewhere about a 90/10 ratio...if you are good 90% of the time, allow yourself some slack 10% of the time. :)

I am so sorry for your loss and am sending you a big hug!!! He will forever be close to your heart and that love makes me wish I knew my grandparents better.

I live in Fort Worth TX and am planting my veggies for the first time tomorrow. So I don't have a lot of info as of yet just what I have read. Since I have high clay soil I had to add a lot of compost and my dad rented a tiller and tilled it up for me. My compost was mostly peat moss, plant matter, lava sand and mushroom…
