Yep, it's a vacation. I work out and eat well all year round, but when I'm on vacation I don't really worry about it....because it's vacation. I gain 8lbs of water weight and lose it in a matter of days after. That's my lifestyle, and doesn't put any dent in my weight and fitness goals. I never said anything about weekend…
-
That's fine, and honestly nobody would bat an eye if that's what their policy said instead of "they're scary to members".
-
Their website indicates that as well in the FAQ section.
-
Either way it still comes down the point of this whole argument. Question: Why does PF not allow them? My Answer: Because PF needs to perpetuate their negative stereotype for members. Two or three other people: Nauh, it's safety. Me: Actually even their website says the poor gallon jug is "intimidating". Fun ensues.
-
Then like I said, don't put it out that far....it's not rocket math.
-
Don't worry about it, it's vacation. Enjoy your vacation and when you get home pick up wherever you left off. I always gain about 8 lbs on vacation and lose it after being home a couple days.
-
For you....can we drop the safety issue thing....really? How close do walk to machines that are in use by other people that this would actually be an issue? I put my towel at the end of my machine right next to the leg(s). Are towels now a safety issue and should be outlawed?
-
For most of them, it's their entire days worth....not just 1-2 hours. I don't do it, but I understand where people come from. I have a 3L bottle on my desk that I carry around during the day.
-
Playing directly into their marketing hands and buying the negative stereotype they perpetuate.
-
How many replies in this thread did you read before dropping this gem?
-
Not in this case per their website.
-
It's not a big drawback to me either. The reasoning behind it, however, is absurd. Someone asked why, I said it has to do with their "real gyms are scary" philosophy.
-
As stated earlier, that not a corporate "hazard" policy. It's to maintain their "no gymtimidation environment", whatever that means.....per their FAQ page. Not that it really matters on the water...but yes, agreed on the sandals and that this should be pointed out and known when you sign up. Problem is, many gyms don't go…

Agreed, that's what I was thinking too.... Either way, whatever your personal belief is of whether or not a gallon jug shouldn't be allowed in the gym I really doubt that it's PF's corporate policy to not allow them due to a "tripping hazard" I stand by my statement that they're utilizing it to perpetuate the negative…
-
I do all the time. There's no place else to put them in the lifting area. I usually put my towel tight next to it. You could break your toe on a gallon jug? Lulz, you're trying too hard.

Every weight machine has a cup holder on it?
-
I have one that I carry at work. It's a good way to regulate how much water I've had for the day, and don't have to get up to get refills if I don't want to. Either way what PF is doing with that rule is perpetuating the stereotype of only moron bodybuilders (lunks...morons) carry water jugs around.
-
Their lunk alarm signs say something about a gallon jug too.
-
Agreed 1000% Same thing with Carlos. That's good info, how isn't it being helpful?
-
-
I'm going to guess kg in this case, not lbs.
-
Ya.....par for the MFP course.
-
Why is this all or nothing when it comes to the defense of PF? Why is it every gym besides PF is considered an "expensive gym" or "high priced"? Limited hours of operation is "exclusive"? You're trying way too hard.
-
Um, you're last line answers your question in the first line......not to mention the health risks that come along with many diet pills.
-
What's funny is that it's the women at my gym who yell back an forth at each other over the noise of the machine they're using. Usually loud enough where my ear buds don't even drown them out.
-
I was more getting at, if your goal was 1200 and you burned 400, we're you eating a total of 1200 or 1600? Sounds like you're aiming for the 1600. That's all I was wondering, and it sounds like you are.
-
Are you saying that you could eat above TDEE and lose weight?
