4-5 times a week....tops. Are you eating 1200-1400 gross or net cals? IMHO, you're headed for a major crash and burn at the level of fuel you put in the tank vs. what you burn up. You're already mentioning that if you take a day off you don't want to go back.

No, eating clean doesn't make a difference for the scale. Yes, you should be weight training. Eating as little as you are and not eating back exercise cals (per your diary) you'll need that weight training to preserve muscle. When you lose weight you lose water, fat, and muscle. With the deficit you're aiming for (eating…

Why? There's no reason to completely avoid sugar and fruit as long as it fits your day.
-
I'm pretty confident that's not the lesson @cwolfman13 is trying to convey.
-
Yep, I need to echo this. Why lose muscle to do 2x the work to put some of it back on?
-
Yes, but it kind of depends on your stats too. A person who is already at a healthy weight/BMI may not necessarily need to lose weight but reduce BF% (usually via recomp) in order to more efficiently reduce overall BF% to meet their aesthetic goal (loss of belly fat).…

^^This. You see so many threads on here "I just started working out, eating 1200 calories and I'm not losing weight" to be met with someone saying "maybe you're putting on muscle, which weighs more than fat"....from there it's pointed out that at that caloric intake, the individual most likely isn't gaining muscle...or if…

What is discouraging about saying: "You're not necessarily making measurable gains in muscle mass, but indeed maintaining the muscle you have while stripping the fat away to see those muscles you're maintaining all while getting stronger"
-
Gross or net?
-
^^^I was going to ask the same thing. That doesn't seem like very many calories to fuel a normal day, let alone adding a 5-5.5 mile run + curcuits 5-6 times a week.

^^This, also you need to ask your recruiter what the entrance minimum is. The first day that I was at inprocessing, it was required that you were able to do at least 10 push-ups before even being allowed to enter BCT. I was at an all male BCT course, so I'm not sure the requirement for females but it's something you should…

It's because we only deal in extremes here at MFP, nobody can be down the middle. If you say "junk" food is in moderation is OK, then you're promoting a diet of doughnuts, twinkies and ding dongs. If there were only a sect in the population that enjoys these diet drinks in moderation like I do and says "ya, go for it".…

^^This, and I would say that you would be lucky to even be preserving much at such an insane cut level. When you diet you lose water, fat, and muscle. By being in a conservative deficit and performing some sort of resistance training you work to ensure most of that loss comes from mainly water and fat, efficiently lowering…

Are you willing to open your diary?

You may be interested in this thread. Cardio does not "get rid" of love handles. Calorie deficit and lowering your BF% does. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1161603/so-you-want-a-nice-stomach/p1

1200 net....or 1200 gross? You're just outside the range of a healthy BMI, it's really doubtful you'll lose 9 lbs in 4 weeks.
-
^^This...They (beachbody and the "coach") are just trying to sell you a product you don't need to make $$.
-
It's not about the cardio. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1161603/so-you-want-a-nice-stomach/p1 How much do you eat every day? How fast did you lose that weight? At your ht/wt if you lose weight at a high rate, that can come at the expense of muscle. So, even though you lost the weight you may not have…

I'd say look at the minimums you need to hit to get into bootcamp. When you get there, you will get a small physical training test to ensure you can meet the minimum to get into bootcamp. If you can meet the minimum to get into boot camp, you'll easily meet the minimum to get out. Speaking strictly from an Army…

When you entered your stats into My Fitness Pal, how many did it give you?

I had a roommate start making ramen when they got home from the bar one night. Fill the pot with water-check, turn on burner-check, put noodles in pot-check, pass out on the couch-check. I woke up around 6:30 or so to black smoke from the melted noodles filling the apartment. Pretty safe to say that pot was no Bueno after…

It honestly just depends on how good and conditioned some of the guys you play with are too. A lot of the guys in the league I play in played D1 or Jr hockey. Some of those guys can be out there 5 minutes at a time where I might be able to get in 3.
-
^^^ Agreed. Also if you're working out 60-90 min per day and only eating the 1,000 or so calories like day one in your diary, weight would be coming off, you wouldn't be gaining.
-
I'm lucky to get 20 min of ice time in a 90 min skate, but 10 per team is a pretty short bench (4) so maybe closer to 30-35 min.

I guess that's where we'll have to disagree. I don't see it as glamourizing it, it's a treat...no more no less. But at the same time it's teaching the kid that this specific type of food should make up a small portion of their diet, but it's still okay to have (same thing as mac and cheese)... Nowhere is did I (or the OP)…

To be fair, the thread is 5 1/2 years old.

OK, so l figure my 2nd grader takes in the ball park of 10,500 calories a week (1500 a day), if I allotted him 150 calories (on the weekend) of said snacks in that drawer that's about 1.5% of his caloric intake for the week. If the rest of the 10,350 calories he takes in the rest of the week come from healthy more…
