  • Welcome Sheila :) March 15th Sarah - 10 Binge monster - 5 7 days binge-free!
  • Woohoo kge0891!! Way to go :) Sorry for no personals guys, I shouldn't log on here at work as I don't have time! Hope everyone has a great binge-free day :)
  • Thanks Karen :) March 14th (yesterday for me!) Sarah: 9 Binge monster: 5 Days without binging: 5?? I think..
  • sounds lovely! will try it soon
  • I use Boomers. Its made from milk from grass fed cows in New Zealand, no sweeteners etc. Just WPI and it has a pleasant non-flavaoured taste - a little bit like skim milk. It's about $40 (AUD) for a kilo and 95.5% protein. Ok for Primal I think :)
  • What is the bulletproof coffee I keep seeing in peoples diary and mentioned here??
  • StrongerThanY - yes I know the feeling well. Trying not to dwell on it is easier said than done. I've undone weeks worth of effort in a run of 3-4 days binging, because I could't forgive myself the first one. I have suffered depression over the years, I think this is a form a depression because it is certainly more than…
  • AWESOME!! Congratulations! I noticed a few others are doing really well too. Great stuff :) I almost had a binge yesterday. I was starving all day, eating every two hours and ended up having an unplanned snack that was bigger than it probably should have been. But, I was in control and I did stop myself from eating before…
  • 11th March Sarah - 6 The Binge -5 I'm winning! :) Hope you all had a good day
  • I know how you are feeling. It's really hard! I've decided to treat this thing like an addiction/habit that I need to break, because for me it seems like once I've given in to the binge monster once it's so hard not to do it all over again the next day. But, I have had wonderful success giving up cigarettes. I'm thinking…
  • Hi, I am lurking in the realms of Primal/Paleo.. primal most closely resembles my way of eating but I'm not sure if my Whey protein fits with the lifestyle. I do have a cheat meal which is my buckwheat and ricotta pancakes on the weekend. Feel free to add me :)
  • March 10th Sarah : 5 Binge: 5 Feeling ok. Today and yesterday have been binge-free. I did go over my calories by a fair bit on Saturday - which I didn't log :( - it was deliberate and not in an urgent ?I have to eat this" uncontrolled way. I was trying to feed myself more good nutritious foods in an effort to not binge and…
  • Hi all, new to this group. I have had a terrible start to March. I had made myself the promise of no binges in March. 8/3/13 Sarah: 3 the binge: 5
  • Hi, I would recommend that you either see a councillor much more often for cognitive behavioural therapy (which I did weekly for 6 months) and/or get hold of the book "Overcoming bulimia nervosa and binge-eating" by Peter Cooper. These two things are the best things I've ever done for myself. It has taken more than 12…
  • Thanks that would be great, let us know when it's up :)
  • 1. 3 2. Boredom --> guilt, hunger, anger 3. come kind of delicious ice-cream at my mums (oops forgot to log it!!) 4. talking to my mum and my husband about my issues with food, logging on here and reminding myself - again - that this issue is not mine alone! 5. up a little, but not enough to get upset about :) Good luck…
  • Thanks! I've been looking for something to do when the urge strikes, so am copying this into a blank word doc and will give it a crack next time I feel like diving mouth first into the pantry!!
  • Thanks for this thread guys, was thinking about posting something similar as I often see people logging burns of 1000+ for one example for an hour of 'dancing', yet my "high intensity interval training" for 30 mins comes out (according to MFP) at about 300! Have been thinking about a HRM as I don't trust the values on MFP…
  • 2 binges in 2 days - day 1 trigger was feeling so bored at home with my kids, then feeling even guiltier for feeling bored. 2nd day couldn't give myself a break for day before. Have tracked it all as best you can a binge.. blew my calories way way out both days. Argh! Time to take my own advice and get this thing back…
  • I set my MFP to track sodium (and fibre) as well as the usual suspects. I find if I go over the 2500mg my weight will spike by 2-3 kilos the next day and if salt that day is fine the scales will drop straight back, so it's obviously water retention. How harmful it is if you have high sodium over the long term probably…
  • 1. Zero - last binge was 20th Dec (and it was mega!!) 2. Triggers - hunger! Emotions - anger, frustration, sadness. Tiredness. Boredom 3. 'Naughty foods' - my recipe date and nut 'bliss balls' on Xmas day and my whole egg mayo potato salad on Boxing day. Both tracked, both definitely not diet foods - but in moderation are…
  • You know what they say about slow and steady, good on you!
  • If it truly is addiction, I suggest you go cold turkey. Accept that you cannot have it in your house and refuse to buy it. My sister turned up with cake at my house a while ago and refused to take it home with her which upset me a lot. Later that day I found a good post on a blog here about how food addiction is no less…
  • Awesome, I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me X
  • To the OP, if your mum has been prescribed by a doc to go low carb, I'm sure there is a reason. Cutting down on processed carbs would be good for most peoples health, but make sure she checks out exactly what this 'prescription' means. Carbs in the form of sweet potatoes, potatoes and other veggies, as well as whole grains…
  • Yes Gems that's the Book :) Thanks for the Add
  • The hardest thing is getting out of the starvation/binge cycle. Trust me, that book works! Also you might like to try cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT). Try not to beat yourself up and this is super important - don't try to make up for yesterday by starving yourself today. If you try you're likely to get through to the…
  • Hi, I just posted this as a suggestion for another MFPer - it's a great book! "Overcoming Bulimia Nervosa and Binge-Eating" by peter Cooper. This year following his suggestions my binges have gone from 4-5 days out of 7 to maybe 1 every month or so. I feel like I have nearly conquered this demon! So, I'm in as this is my…
  • Perhaps also those people who beg for support and get lots of people adding them as friends, then continue to eat a completely unhealthy diet - but manage to stick to their calorie goal by skipping meals and proceed to ignore their 'friends' comments/questions about perhaps eating a vegetable now and then..
  • Yes, this one is a little hard on me too, but I try to remember that unlike myself, english wasn't everyones favourite subject at school!
