  • I’m vegan, feel free to add me :)
  • Good luck! I did well with the 10000 steps goal for quite a while earlier this year - if I did a run. I have a mostly Sitting job and struggled unless I did that run, but if you’re walking for a half hour daily that should be a really good start. Also Aussie. I’m in Perth.
  • I’m vegan. Trying to find motivation to cook more lively vegan dishes too, feel free to add me.
  • I’m vegan
  • When I say whatever I like I still mean vegan I just meant junk and too much! So not losing because i haven't put the effort in.
  • I've been pretty lax lately eating whatever I like, but i was struggling to get more than 10% of my calories from protein generally when logging consistently earlier this year without using shakes or fake meats etc. I prefer to use tofu. Pre-vegan I used to do a lot of weight training and was used to getting a lot of my…
  • Hi I'm going to add you all - I'm not the best at consistently logging I will for a few Weeks then won't for a while then come back but I am vegan and have been for all of 2017, vegetarian for 2 years after a Long break from it.
  • Hi I'm going to re-join this group again (haven't been here in a few years), as I have fallen back into binge eating daily and I need it to stop. I have no idea my stats so I'll start from today Me: 0 Binge: 1 Days binge free: 0
  • My experience with coke zero is that when I drank it, I ended up craving sweet foods for the rest of the day. If I gave in and ate them, not good for weight loss! I gave it up ages ago. I drink black coffee instead! From the bodies point of view there is absolutely nothing good about coke zero (except for the lack of…
  • OMG that story really had me in tears!
  • you may be overestimating your calorie burn if you are using the MFP calculator, I suspected it was way off and got a heart heart monitor. I was well overestimating my calorie burn using MFP. I run 3x a week, 1x sprint session, 1x 4-5k and one longer run. I also lift 5x a week. I've finally busted my plateau after getting…
  • Thanks :)
  • Geneen Roths books are brilliant. There are loads of other good ones too. I think there is a thread in the Binge eaters support group on here with books/resources worth checking out. Someone mentioned they didn't know if MFP helps or hinders, I feel that way sometimes too. A lot of my binging is either to stamp down…
  • Hi. Just quickly, had a look at your diary. My nutritionist suggest 3 meals plus 2 snacks a day, plus a post workout protein shake if you weight lift. If you want to lose weight, your body will do it most efficiently if you give you it good fuel. This means loads of veggies, 2 fruit a day and lean protein at every meal…
  • can you workout in the morning before work? I do because if I left it until after work I'd never go!
  • i think they are all pretty expensive. I liked Jak3D, but I haven't tried the new version :)
  • In a word NO! I always wondered the same thing. I have friends that burn crazy amounts and I do wonder how accurate they are, but hat they are doing seems to be working so I don't comment. I have bought a HRM and the calorie burns that MFP had been calculating for me were definitely wrong. I work in kilometres per hour and…
  • I think this response covers it! For what it's worth, my nutritionist recommended a plan that comes out at roughly 2000-2200 per day, but I am by no means overweight. However, i once was and my experience has taught me that serious restriction of calories especially when combined with exercise always led to my gaining the…
  • quote "I'm confused. You're only 109 pounds and you want to lose 14 more??" quote She's 5 foot 1!!! That is seriously tiny so of course her weight is going to be low! I have found that the calorie estimators for exercise burn on MFP seem to be way way out for me. If you can't afford a HRM, maybe figure out your TDEE using…
  • I have my macros set to 20% carb 40% protein 40% fat. It seems to be working pretty well. That tends to come out around 100-120g carbs a day (from veg/fruit - i love my bananas) on about 1800-2000 cals/day. I train 6 days a week. See how you go on 100g. I found when I went higher it had no positive effects on my energy for…
  • Hi just had a peak at your diary OP - did you k now you can re-set your goals so your macros (carbs/fat/protein) are whatever % you like? I have mine set to 20/40/40 :)
  • Me too, my carbs are generally only from fruits and veg :) Edited to add, my diary is open to friends
  • ^^^ This - I love food and I am always hungry. i also Love to exercise (which makes me hungrier!). Adding in my calories burnt means I'm less likely to binge because I have more leeway to eat the foods I want to eat and to eat enough to keep up with the exercise that makes me feel so good :-)
  • I always let how I feel dictate that. If I know that logging it will be more harmful to me than not logging (as in my frame of mind is still bad and logging will make me feel guiltier etc and potentially lead to a second day of bingeing) then I won't do it. If I feel more in control and I've figured out what my trigger was…
  • By the way - I think I currently have my macros set at 30/30/40 Carbs/Fat/Protein as that seems to work pretty well for me
  • Hi I'm not exactly a marathon runner! But I do like to run and do a few longish runs each week and weight train 5 days a week and do pilates on my rest day. I did a 7k obstacle (mud) course yesterday. I'm building up to do a 10k run weekly with a few shorter runs. I am not strict but in general do my best to stick to…
  • My alarm goes off at 4am every morning and I'm out the door by ~ 4.20- t o get to my gym shower etc before work starts at 6. I drink my coffee (black and strong!) on the way in my car. Personally, if I left my workouts till night time it would never happen as I am exhausted after working all day and getting kids home from…
  • I have the same problem. I've been recommended to incorporate these exercises into my usual routine - lat pull-downs - seated rows - pull-ups (I do assisted with a band or an assisted pull-up machine) and lots of stretching throughout the day. I also do pilates once a week and have a set day for a range of core exercises…
  • I find I run better on an empty stomach, but a banana 1/2-1 h before works ok too any more than that and I feel like I will throw up. For half an hour run you should be fine on nothing, especially if you have eaten carbs in your dinner the night before :)
