Hi Andy Welcome to MFP and good luck with your journey. LeJog? Cool! I'm with you on hills = agony but find it easier to cycle up hills than walk up with a laden bike (cycle camping). I did the Devon C2C last summer and had a great time. LeJog is my ultimate ambition but thinking of doing the Hadrian's Wall route (C2C…

Mmm, these look great. I love muffins but I have a daft question (and also get to bump the recipe for later). I see people talking here about applesauce but I'm not sure what it is. Is it apples stewed and pureed? If so, are they cooking apples or dessert apples? I'm assuming you buy it pre-made but figure I can make my…

Hi April - so glad that your dog pulled through, hope he continues to improve. Congrats to everyone for keeping on checking in even when progress seems slow. SW on challenge: 164lb Goal Weight: 152-153lb CW: 159lb 5lb lost. I looked back at my week 3 post for my weight and realised I'd said I'd do my yoga DVD three times.…

@cricketkate - well done for rocking! I was due a Tesco delivery after 8pm so thought I had plenty of time to shred, shower and be decent to open the door. I'd just put my very unattractive workout wear on when the doorbell went and I had to answer the door in my dressing gown - such a good look! :embarassed: I am however…

I like nerdfitness http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/ and it probably would fit into your space.

Hi I'd recommend doing an intro class to start with. In the Uk most yoga places run them fairly often for about 6 weeks and it's a really great way to get a good idea of what it's about and help prevent you hurting yourself by doing poses incorrectly. I really enjoyed the beginners class I went to but struggled with the…

My shoulders and upper arms have been aching all day and I'd been putting off doing Day 3 but then it got to a 'now or never' moment and I couldn't give up on Day 3 so I put my workout clothes on and shredded. I think it made me sweat more today than before but that's maybe because I working that bit harder. My muscles…

Spiced Roasted Veg Soup I love soup with warm bread although I'm trying to learn to live with less bread and more soup. I made this yesterday and had it with a couple of oatcakes. On the MFP recipe counter this comes out as 159 calories per serving. It's a great way to use up the rather tired looking veg in the bottom of…

Yesterday I ate far too many calories of the unhealthy empty kind. Previously I might have had another day today of thinking 'stuff it, I'll just eat badly again today and start the diet again on Monday'. Now I reckon that one day like that is enough and there are far too many 'startings again' in my life so today is a new…

That's so great, well done Joyce.

You need to put the letters img in square brackets in front of your http address and then /img after it also in square brackets. Hope that works. Well done on your loss - that's great.

I've just done day 2. My aim is to be able to do 10 proper press ups because right now I'm on the 'easy' ones and they still hurt so much. The bits that ached this morning ached a bit more but because I'd signed up to this post I did keep going which was good. That first cardio is definitely the hardest one but it's good…

You look fantastic (and I love your red top). What an inspiration. I really like how reflective your blog is, great stuff.

I started yesterday too so I'm with you on this! My pecs ache this morning - most of my exercise is leg work and cardio (dancing) so that bit is going to be tought. I'll be aiming to do Day 2 about 6pm tonight.

I have soup plans for lunch later today. If it turns out well, I'll post the recipe. These soups look great and some are definitely going in my recipe folder.

If you put the letters img in square brackets [ and ] at the beginning followed by the http address without any quotes and then after the .jpg or .gif put /img also in square brackets that should work. Well done on your journey to change your life, that's amazing. Carmen

SW on challenge: 164lb Goal Weight: 152-153lb CW: 160lb 4lb lost. I've just got a new yoga DVD so will plan to do that 3 times this week. I will, I will, I will.

I love 'Non-Scale Victories' (thanks to WhiteRaven for that). I'm on a 'better jeans fit' mission too :-)
-
That's fantastic, and in such a short space of time too. Well done. I bet your family are so proud of you.

Hi folks Well I managed to jump rope three days out of seven - how tough was that? I didn't realise how unfit I was but I did manage to up my time so I did 41/2 mins this morning. I've found a way to donate food to the local homeless services here so that's cool as we don't have a food bank per se. Sprinting? Good job it's…

:-) Welcome to a whole world of people cheering you on in your plan to change your life. Not sure I ever found that on Fb but maybe I just don't know the right kind of people :-) I have learned portion control on here. I've been deluding myself for years about exactly what a '50g serving' looks like, hence the need to be…

That's great - well done. Woo hoo!

I've learned that a 75g serving of pasta is much smaller than I thought it was ... and I can eat that and still feel full. I've also learned that savouring food is a good way to feel full. And that everyone posting here is incredibly supportive of other's achievements, big and small, which is a great reminder of how…

Excellent topic. I can eat only two squares of chocolate and think 'that's enough, I enjoyed it but don't want any more'. This is a victory. I've spent so long thinking 'it's better to finish it off and then it won't be there tomorrow to tempt me.'

Hi Send me a friend request if you'd like. I'm very happy to cheer you on in your mission. Carmen

*Bump* Well that's decided one meal for this week.

That's just fab, wow. I hope you got loads of compliments and that all your friends and family are really proud of your success.

Welcome. I've been here a week today and am finding it an amazing motivation to come at or under my calorie goals and really think about what I eat and drink. Here's to healthy living and all the joy that brings and a change of lifestyle. Carmen
