Very close. Age: 33 Height: 5'11 SW: 344 CW: 211 GW: 180 (it was 200 up until a last week and I realized I am almost to my goal and not as thin as I thought I would be).

What do you consider real food?

I quit soda cold turkey 15 months ago and never looked back. I was surprised at the weight I lost just from cutting soda out of my life and it was the kick I needed to get started on this journey. I'm so grateful I kicked that nasty habit. I will never touch another soda for as long as I live. I feel too good without it…

I pour my entire day, every single day and all my energy into getting fit and meeting my goals so yes, I feel like it is an obsession. It is a noble one though. I have come a long way and life has really changed for the better. Don't let the stress get to you. Figure out ways balance it out.

If you want to go back to the gym, then just go. Don't let trivial stuff stop you.
-
I can't believe there are people who seriously think you can gain 10 lbs in one day.
-
I don't know, maybe I have evolved but I have gone from loving and living for my cheat days to not looking forward to them one bit. At the beginning they were a godsend but now I don't make a big deal out of them. I eat so clean now that most of the time when I do cheat, I end up feeling like crap and I hate that feeling.…

The root of my weight issue...myself. Terrible choices, lack of respect for myself, etc.

Don't try to make too many drastic changes all at once. Make small gradual changes into your new lifestyle. Before you know it, they will become the norm.

Staying away from fast food/eating out, processed junk, sugary junk, has really helped me. Fruits, veggies, lean meats, etc. If you are really serious about changing your lifestyle, do some research, educate yourself and figure out a diet plan you can stick to no matter what kind of day you are having. Make a work out and…

Good for you! I think most of us have had that one defining moment where we realized we are headed down a very bad path and need to make drastic changes before its too late. Whenever I think I am hitting a wall, I just think back to my defining moment.

What is considered "massive?"

Good for you! Walking is a fantastic way to be active without pushing yourself too hard. It is how my journey got started and I still walk 4 to 5 miles a day on top of everything else.
-
Losing inches off your waist line is just as much a win as losing lbs on the scale. Just keep going and don't focus on the numbers so much.
-
When I was at my worst, I was feeling so low that I almost gave up on life completely. I never want to feel like that again! Knowing I have the ability to better myself one day at a time is how I stay motivated.
-
Soda was my biggest weakness. I've now gone 15 months without it.

Everyone is different so it is nearly impossible to say. As long as you put in the time and keep the diet up, you will get the results. Just be patient. Results aren't always obvious. Once you do see results, keep going. That is when it begins to get motivating.

I had the same fears at first. One day I decided to jump in the pit and start working and I've been doing it ever since. Honestly, everyone has their headphones on, watching the TV or working with a partner. No one is really paying attention nor do they care about much going on outside of their workout. Remember all of us…

4.02 miles

Try not to overthink things. One day at a time and take it as it comes. If you start thinking too far ahead, it tends to get depressing and it can mess with your head. Take it from someone who has been there and is there right now. Think about today and think about tomorrow...that's it!

5.50 miles here also.

Go for it! I started my journey by walking 3 miles a day. I no longer need to walk but still walk 4 to 5 miles a day with a 50 lb vest on. I don't even see it as exercise anymore. It's more therapeutic to me than anything.
-
I am rarely impressed but that is an IMPRESSIVE transformation! Amazing! Congrats!

Eat more.

I say progress is progress and that is something to hold your head up high and smile about. We aren't always going to see the progress in a traditional sense. Some weeks I lose pounds on the scale but don't notice it on my body. Other weeks, I won't lose any pounds and might even have a slight gain, but my body it tighter…

This probably dates back to my Army days but working out before long shifts has always been easier for me than afterwards.
-
I'm very happy and can honestly say I feel amazing but I will always carry that fatboy mentality as well as the memories of just how horrible it felt to be at my worst. I use those negative memories/thoughts as motivation to never go down that long dark road ever again.
-
Never! After being very obese myself, I will probably always be in that state of mind although those days are far behind me.

I've worked REALLY hard the last year to get where I am. My entire outlook on life has changed and I feel I now possess the knowledge to live a better life so no fears here. There is no way I will ever let myself go through this process again.
